Actually it wasn't me. Scooter Lindley discovered it the other day when running a facial recognition sweep across the internet, while he was cleaning his Ruger Mini-14. When he came back to the monitor, bingo! Gotta love that kid.

Someone recently asked me 'what are the Blue Blaze Irregulars?' and I realized that we do not have information for the casual viewer here, who may not be aware of the Banzai Institute, and the auxilliary force known as the Blue Blaze Irregulars, in spite of the docudrama movie made in 1984.

Blue Blaze Irregular Jim Sawyer gives this description: "Blue Blaze Irregulars are loyal fans of Buckaroo Banzai and those hard rockin' scientists, The Hong Kong Cavaliers. Each member is assigned a code-name and serial number, along with a BBI patch. There's probably a BBI Chapter in your city or town.

In times of great peril, such as when the evil minions of Hanoi Xan make trouble, BBIs can access a small armory of weapons, there's also a special emergency go phone that directly contacts the Banzai Institute, so Dr. Banzai and his team are alerted to any menace."

I might add that at the moment there are no less than 6,000 active Blue Blaze Irregulars world wide - men, women, and children who attend selected symposia at the Banzai Institute, who submit their bodies periodically to rugged physical training at such places as the desert survival school in Nevada, the mountaineering school in Alaska, and a half-dozen others around the globe; who are required yearly to make certain educational advancements; who are "on call" twenty-four hours a day to help B. Banzai in a pinch, or their neighbors in a natural disaster. Blue Blazes are, when all is said, ordinary and yet extraordinary people.
