I was watching a movie about how the Vikings were eliminated from North America. According to this movie, one of their own who was abandoned as a baby and raised by Native Americans ("America" referring to the two continents, not the U.S.) led an effort to defeat them. These people were savages, and yet they had the nerve to call the civilized people "savages".
The movie had a green appearance, like so many later "Smallville" episodes. A commercial break began and I didn't know I wasn't still watching the movie. The wild-looking man was Oliver!
Someone really planned that commercial well, A person is not going to turn away if it looks like the movie is still on, but then people have telephones, so you know it's not the movie. And they're talking about Oliver!

That does sound clever! Registers on the brain easier!
I believe the movie KyleEl referred to was PATHFINDER...a 2007 movie starring Karl Urban.
The movie...grated on me...even though after seeing the poster...I was VERY hyped!!!!
Because it looked like they finally had a big budget movie with a Native American hero...
...but no.
Pet peeve.
No one does blackface anymore...except ironically like RDJ in TROPIC THUNDER...but I didn't see that.
But...it seems okay to have white guys pose as Native Americans...Kevins Costners Dances with Wolves...or Lawrence of the Plains...white guy shows the natives how its done...or Burt Reynolds...Burt Lancaster...Charles Bronson...even Mel Brooks played a native.
WINDTALKERS was about the Navajo code talkers in WWII but it was actually about the white guy...Nicholas Cage...who protects the Indian.
Jackie Robinson...Rosa Parks...and a great MANY black entertainers helped to turf segregation.
Many Natives are still on reserves and poor....with underfunded schooling.
Natives need heroes too.

*tips hat*
*laughing*
Yes!
Thank-you for pointing that one out!
And that role, at least...on television...and a couple of other movie productions... WAS actually always played by a native....
...until now...
So...
...taking a few steps backwards in the process.
*sighs*
