From Zap2It - "The next new episode, "Sex and Drugs," airs Oct. 29 and it looks like a doozy. Nora is in need of serious medical help after being stabbed by Ken Hutchinson (Jeff Fahey), Neville is about to hand over Danny to Monroe, and Charlie has a very Joan-from-"Mad Men"-like decision to make when a gang leader makes her an indecent proposal. Why isn't Miles (Billy Burke) as scared as Aaron (Zak Orth) or Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos)? (And, yes, that's Nora slumped over in the back of the truck.)"
I am wondering what everyone thinks will be Miles' decision. A) Turn Charlie over to gang leader. B) Let Nora die; they let Maggie die. C) Miles kills the entire gang. D) Charlie volunteers to be with gang leader because she and Aeryn think he's hot. I'm going with D, but I do think she will escape. That girl is dangerous.

I am happy NBC streamed the episode today because I was disappointed I could not watch it last night. The producers probably laughed the entire time they edited the footage for the promos. They gave me the impression Drexel wanted Charlie for a sex slave. Clever. Drexel had a sick sense of humor. I guess he thought it was humorous to plant a poppy field down the road from an Irish law enforcement family until they torched those fields. “Fun and games.” Have we seen Sean before? I like him because he helped Aaron and his wife. He is a good fighter and retained his humanity. Aaron has been feeling useless for 15 years because he could not physically protect his wife. The decision he made is tragic because she still loved him. If weapons were not trained on him, I think Aaron would have hit Drexel when Drexel punched Charlie. Hopefully, his willingness to sacrifice himself for his friends will build his self-worth. Perhaps other members of the group will stop making cruel comments about Aaron now. Nora: Aaron shot Drexel. Miles: *raised brows* This Aaron? Charlie had an opportunity to take a bath and did not bother to use any soap. Darn! When Charlie tore up her mementos, I knew she had reached a turning point in her life to let the past go and live in the moment. She shows a lot of courage, but we know she is not a cold-blooded killer. I wanted to see her jump from the window and run down the road in those shoes. Every time I see Miles use a sword, the episode gets an extra point. Plus, we saw two necks get snapped. When Latino Barbie was given pure adrenalin, I thought she was going to wake up and kick Drexel’s butt. I guess I have been watching too many fairy tales. Bass is a cold dude to send no-survivors-Strausser to bring back Miles. I know, I know, Nate (real name?) will run off to protect Charlie.

I too was amazed that NBC had it up for streaming the very next day, and I watched it online today. I hope they keep that up. This episode really made me care about all of the characters even more, it drew me in further to them than any before. We've seen almost everyone's backstory now, and Aaron's was something completely unexpected for me. Plus, he earned his bones. I'm betting we see his wife again somewhere down the line, and boy is she gonna be pissed. Nah, seriously, it will be interesting to see how they treat that when and if it happens. And it was great to see Danny reunited with his mom at the end. Going back to the last episode: there are 12 pendants out there. 12 is a number that figures prominently in most religions. It is called 'the divine number.' 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 Greek Gods on Mount Olympus, 12 stations of life in Buddhism, the number 12 comes up again and again. So, I'm wondering if the blackout was caused by some fringe religious group. I'm pretty sure the number 12 wasn't picked by the writers at random.

I am glad you are current on the episodes. This is a wonderful series. I think we will see Aaron's wife at some point too. She probably thinks Aaron died a long time ago since he was not prepared to cope with the changes in the world. If Sean shows up, he would make a good ally.
It will be interesting to see how the number 12 plays out.

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that we see both of them again, and that Aaron's wife and Sean have developed a relationship. They are both featured prominently in those flashbacks, and like you say, he'd be a good addition to the group.

Bass is a cold dude to send no-survivors-Strausser to bring back Miles. I know, I know, Nate (real name?) will run off to protect Charlie. I meant to give it a 4 but gave it a 3 instead. Oops. Good episode. although I still think the flashbacks to 15 years ago don't show that these people have aged the way they would have normally, notwithstanding they've been living like cavemen for 15 years. Aaron looked exactly the same. Shouldn't he be a little grayer? Or maybe they could have shaved his beard for the flashback. Yes, I am being picky. But that's because I expect so much from this show. Is the guy who played Drexel the same guy who played the Dracula shapesifter in "Monster Movie?" He looked familiar. And he plays psycho really well. Found it interesting that he seems to have his own personal harem there and found clothes to fit Charlie perfectly....even down to the shoes. Charlie soaking in the tub was sad. She just laid there and let all the bad memories wash over her. I hope she doesn't regret tearing up those pictures. Anti, I, too thought Aaron wanted to pound Drexel after he punched Charlie, but I guess he hadn't reached that point where he could get back his feelings of cowardice. It was fun seeing his backstory, although I thought that his leaving his group and his wife and striking out on his own seemed a little weak. Like you, I wonder if we'll see her again. She sure didn't seem like someone who married him just for his money. I liked Sean, too. I really hope we see him again. I wonder if he and Aaron's wife hook up. Thought that the O'Hallrahan plot deserved more fleshing out. They seemed like good people. A family of cops who tried to stop Drexel from growing drug crops that played a part in the death of their daughter. I wonder if they would have taken the group in? Aaron shooting Drexel was completely unexpected and perfect. Like you, I thought Nora would be the person to take charge, but Aaron really stepped up. But it seemed a little like the death of the wicked witch of the west.....the soldiers seemed fine with the looney boss being killed and sent the killers on their way (at least they didn't take the witches broom to the wizard!). But didn't ANY of them ever think they could have offed Drexel sooner? O well. So Danny finally sees his mother. Heartbreaking and sweet. And that bastard Sebastian is sending a "kill 'em all" thug out to get Aaron and the pendant. And Jason (Nate) noticed that Sebastian told Neville that he only wanted Aaron.....the others he wanted dead. I'm sure Jason, who seems to have a thing for Charlie, will be running after her again. 12 pendants....interesting number. Very significant. We know Kripke is into that sort of thing. I wonder how these small devices caused a world wide power shutdown. Looks like we're supposed to find out a lot next week. I can hardly wait!

Great observations LoveJeter, I mean SoCal. I need to re-watch the scene in the office. My brain told me Bass wanted Miles, but perhaps he does want Aaron because he thinks Aaron knows how to use the pendant.
The looks Neville casts at Jason appear to be expressions of disappointment. Perhaps he thinks Jason is weak because he did not kill the girl.
I think Kripke is in a "tell all" frame of mind so I agree next week will be very interesting.
*note to self: update collage to add the name "Jason"*

Anti, I may be wrong about Sebastian asking for Aaron over Miles. I just thought that Jason told him that he had seen Aaron with the pendant and went from there.
I think Neville looks at Jason with more than disappointment. He seems to despise him. I wonder what happened in the preceding 15 years. They both seem to love Joan (the wife of Neville and mother of Jason) and she seemed to love them both. But we've only seen a quickie reunion between them, so there may be more to it.

I re-watched the scene in the office and Sebastian confirmed he wants the pendant and Miles. I have not heard any rumors about Aaron dying so I hope they don't kill him in order to take the pendant. After seeing Danny hug his mother, I thought about Jason and his mother. They did not hug; in fact, he was rather formal in his greeting of "Hello, Mother." They look like they love each other, but there could be some resentment if the mother did not intercede when Neville "trained" Jason. Also, I agree that Neville looks like he despises Jason. That is the guy who was in "Monster Movie". I kept wondering where we had seen him. I like his crazy antics. I bet I am the only one who laughed when he played that trick on Miles.

But Sebastian told Neville he ONLY wanted the pendant and Miles....and that sounded like he wanted "take no prisoners" Strauss to kill the rest of them. Isn't that when Jason reacted and his father told him to leave? And that Strauss guy doesn't look like the type who would take a group of people prisoner when all he needs is one. Yikes.

My three favorite things about the episode: Charlie getting in the tub, Charlie getting out of the tub, and Charlie in that dress when you could see her legs.
I did like seeing the flashbacks of Aaron, but I'm curious about why if he didn't have glasses on right after the blackout, he has those Cuthbert Rumbold glasses now.

I am sure Charlie wore the dress for your entertainment. Aaron was probably wearing contact lenses in the flashback. 15 years later, he might be wearing any eyeglasses that will help him.
