All In The Family.
I am fairly liberal myself, but would have loved to have a drink with Archie Bunker and piss off all the bleeding hearts in the area.

One of the first shows I ever saw as a child is in part still brilliant today--The Twilight Zone. The original Rod Serling version.

O my gosh, how could I have forgotten "I Love Lucy?" The all time number one classic TV show. And it had no nudity and no off-color language. And it's as funny today as it was when it originally aired.
When I was a kid, we would watch the show as a family and we had a little game. Whoever could guess the fastest what the show was about, won! Of course, by the time I was watching it, it was in re-runs that had been shown so many times that the first scene told you which episode it was and what it was about.
Great, great show.
Also:
The Rockford Files The Flintstones (the first prime time cartoon) The Mod Squad Dragnet Petticoat Junction The Twilight Zone

Aeryn, I loved Rod Serling's "Night Gallery." I can remember we we would watch it every week. Seeing Serling, himself, introduce each episode (while standing in front of a painting that was related to the episode) was great. He died much too soon. I sill remember an episode about a man who wanted to kill (his wife, her lover? I can't remember) someone and put a bug in their ear. It was called an earwig and was supposed to eat its way through the victim's brain, killing the victim in the process. Somehow, this guy ended up with the bug in his own ear and miraculously didn't die as it ate its way through and out his other ear. But as this guy was celebrating and crying that he had survived, he was told by a doctor that when they examined the bug after it came out, they discovered it was female.....and females lay eggs!! I can still see they guy screaming as the episode faded to black. 35 years later and I still remember that particular episode and cringe.

hikory hideout was the classic kids show I was up early every Saturday morning purposely to watch, romper room was another.
The cartoons for me were My little pony Care Bears Poochy- many people my age don't remember this one but I sure do the dog with pink ears and sunglasses She-ra- I wasn't big on her though Gummi bears Smurfs.
Than the preteen shows I enjoyed back in the day
Punky Brewster Kids incorporated Mickey Mouse club 1989-1995 The babysitters club.
