When Oliver is arrested for murder, he wants no one but Laurel to be his lawyer; during a lie detector test, Detective Lance asks Oliver about his time on the island.

Detective Lance saw Oliver on a surveillance video pulling something from a duffel bag and decided Oliver was the vigilante. I wondered how Oliver was going to get out of that one. It does help when your family is a billionaire.
Oliver was placed on home detention and decided to throw a theme party - theme is "prison". Someone tried to kill Oliver during the party and Laurel's father shot the intruder.
Oliver talked Diggles into pretending to be Arrow while Oliver was home to remove suspicion from him. It worked.
Lots of nice fight scenes.

What I like about this episode is that it does not insult the intelligence of either the audience or the show's characters.
I like that Oliver knew that at some point, people would make the connection between his return and the beginning of Arrow's crusade, and he had a plan in place to deal with that... instead of the usual "streeeetch" the suspension of disbelief and pretend no one would notice.
Related to this was his little sister being concerned because of the arrowhead he gave her upon his return...
...and also Laurel...
...who insisted on seeing the scars she had heard about...and put it together in her mind that if there were people on the island who tortured him...and it was a small island...then he would have had to fight them...probably kill them to escape...as he was found on the island alone.
Laurel never voiced all of this entirely...and Oliver never addressed all of these issues...entirely.
It was like she let the full thought pattern remain unexplored on purpose...and accepted what he told her...
...because she did not want to "really" know...
But you can see it in her eyes at times...
Like the ferocity Arrow showed in protecting her in the prison riot...
Repulsed...yes...
But she saw the...passion...with which he defended her....
And I think she recognizes in hindsight...
That passion was personal.

This was a good episode that was used to remove suspicion from Oliver. Darwin, I like your description of the interaction between Arrow and Laurel.

This was a good episode that was used to remove suspicion from Oliver. Darwin, I like your description of the interaction between Arrow and Laurel. *smiles* Thank-you! So you see that too? The deeper interaction? More than what is spoken? I see those things...but I am a...hopeful...romantic... I also noted in "BURN" after Oliver placed Laurel behind him...placing himself solidly between Laurel and danger from the homicidal arsonist...was the EXACT moment when Oliver...eradicated...his doubts... ...and the look in his eye was both flinty steel and fixed: The arsonist WOULD NOT hurt Laurel. Period. And then Oliver got Laurel on her way and Tommy asked where Oliver was...and Laurel said he was still inside...(was that how it played out? I think so) and Laurel was...concerned...but also seemed... ...like she was not actually suprized he stayed... ...like she kind of... ...expected it?
