Watched the first 4 episodes of S7. I think doing a marathon on DVD adds to the enjoyment. I enjoyed Dean's coy expression when he told the doctor he did not want to hurt him. Also, I enjoyed the play between Death, the guys, the doctor and his wife and Castiel. That was fun. Castiel smiting the preacher was a bonus. I noticed Castiel apologized several times for what he had done and was suffering from a lot of guilt. *** It was nice seeing Sheriff Mills again. I'm glad they did not kill her off. She played it smart to get out of the hospital. Will add more. BBL

Hi Anti , I did a S7 rewatch and found I liked it better when I could see the episodes one after the other. You can tell there is a plan in S7 when you see it like that, there wasn't much of a plan but it was there.

Hi November I am enjoying it. I never had a problem with the Leviathan as the Big Bad so I was very interested in their story. I am going to continue the marathon. I always see things I did not notice the first time around.

I watched four more episodes. While doing a marathon, it is easy for me to see why they said they were returning to the MOTW format to some extent. In the Girl Next Door, Defending Your Life, Shut Up, Dr. Phil, Slash Fiction, The Mentalists and Season 7, Time For A Wedding, they were hunting and dealing with supernatural beings. Even the witches must have been supernatural to live 800 years.
This time I recognized Amy was Kaylee in Firefly. I did not know her when I first saw The Girl Next Door. Both guys had a moral dilemma in this episode and I think they both did the right thing. After Amy killed her own mother to save Sam, it would have been bad karma to kill her unless she was actually in the act of killing. I never doubted that Dean did the right thing.

It was nice seeing Jo in Defending Your Life and knowing she does not blame Dean for her death. I like the supernatural aspects of this episode and I can imagine the police trying to explain how the deaths occurred. When the man was killed by the dog, I thought the 911 operator sucked big time. She told him to calm down. Try being calm when a dog is chewing on you. Of course, I know there was nothing she could do anyway. They did not show us how Sam got past the Rabbi with ram’s horn, but I am glad he saved Dean. Bobby told them it was a temporary solution and let some guys in space suits worry about Osiris the next time around.

Shut Up, Dr. Phil was entertaining. The wife had an imagination and a vicious temper. The beating heart cupcake was my favorite hex, but the hair dryer and nail gun were good for their yuk factor. Mr. Stark’s decapitation of the nosy girlfriend gets two thumbs up, plus a bonus for the eyeball in the martini. I loved the counseling the Winchesters gave the witches, especially when the bees started swirling around Dean. When Sam continued to demand that Dean open up to him, Dean admitted that he feels guilty about everything, “Whatever happens – that’s on me; the Lindberg baby, that’s on me; unemployment, that’s on me…” Poor suffering Dean.

Slash Fiction is where we met Frank. He asked the boys if they teleported to his place. I think Frank was only half kidding. The boys’ clones gave some good comic relief when they described Dean and Sam, one vying for sainthood and the other one with Lucifer flying around in his belfry. I thought the angriest I had seen Sam was when he met Benny, but now I think it might be when Levi!Dean told him Dean ganked Amy.

The Mentalists was well done. There are so many ways to die and being impaled on cutlery must be on someone’s bucket list. The message from Ellen was a surprise and a nice touch. Dean could not blame that on fakery. I don’t know how he kept that to himself. I would have run out of the museum yelling “Sammy, guess what, I got a message from Ellen.” Dean is very intelligent, but he is not egotistical about it. I like his line “Grading on a curve has gotten me past everything since kindergarten.” That psycho mentalist slept with the bones of the ghost. Creepy.

Season 7, Time For A Wedding is one episode that I wished I had not read any spoilers. It would have been nice to be shocked the same way Dean was when Sam announced it. Dean’s expression was worth a million bucks. The exploding wedding cake with the bride and groom taking a head-first dive was an excellent intro. I had to laugh when Dean asked shouldn’t Becky have asked his permission. It was rather mean when Sam said he didn’t need Dean any more. Although he apologized, I know Dean carries everything in his heart. Becky did the Misery scenario, except she didn’t really torture Sam physically.
We meet “the temp” -Garth. Dean cautiously opened the door and Garth burst through to the middle of the room. When Dean told Garth “You don’t suck”, Garth said “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me.” How can we not love this guy?

I agree with you on 7.03 TGND, both guys have a moral dilemma, there was a difficult choice to be made either way they went. I do think that she would have killed again, if her child would have gotten sick again she would have done whatever she needed to to help him. The one thing that bothered me about this one was that Dean threatened a child, have we ever seen that before?
7.04 DYL- this one was never a favorite of mine, I was never a big Jo and Ellen fan. I did like seeing Sam as a "lawyer" trying to help Dean. And as the God goes thru the interrogation we can see on Dean's face how guilty, upset, and totally miserable Dean is when confronted by his past actions.

7.05 SUDP- I always liked James M. and Charisma on Buffy/Angel and I liked them in this one, even though they weren't given much to do. I enjoyed how Mr. Stark acted like an everyday person until we see what he can do when he kills that obnoxious woman and made the paintings melt. I was glad that he saved the guys from the Levi at the end. Dean's continued guilt.
7.06 I actually liked this one because I enjoy seeing J2 get to act outside the box as Sam and Dean. Acting different, doing different things, it freshens it up. Don't get me wrong I love J2 and SPN, but you can only take so much gloom and doom (S7). You could see Sam was completely stunned when Fake Dean told him that real Dean killed Amy. I think it was almost the same anger level as when Sam met Benny. I also liked Levi Chet in this one, he was funny. Bobby and Jody would have made a good team, can we bring back Sheriff Mills??? pretty please?

Anti, I have a question for you on the Mentalists Did you think when Sam was sitting at the restaurant and then Dean comes in and starts talking to him, that maybe Sam didn't think it was a "real Dean" until the waiter started talking to Dean? Maybe Sam thought he was having a hallucination of Dean? Sam never talked to Dean until the waiter did. I admit the first 2 times I saw it I didn't catch it, it was when I saw it again I noticed it.

Dean's nightmares about Castiel disappearing into the lake, Sam's hallucinations and Dean stabbing Amy gave us clues to his increased drinking. 7.06 Levi!Chet was amusing. I recall he likes cheese with his meals. This was one of my favorite S7 episodes.

Wow! Holy observation, November!!! After reading your question, I viewed the scene with a more watchful eye, and I believe you are absolutely right that Sam was unsure if Dean was real. I had wondered why Sam gave the waiter a surprised look, but thought it must be the way the waiter talked to Dean. Now, I do think Sam was surprised that the waiter could see Dean. It's hard to miss now that you pointed it out. And, of course, Sam would not admit that to Dean.

Thanks ;D, That is why I watch SPN over and over to pick up on stuff that I normally miss on TV. And sometimes it takes 4 or 5 times for me to catch everything. I will say the Mentalists was a hard episode to watch because of how Dean treated Sam in this one. He was really being a ass towards Sam, and it got old, quickly. I didn't agree with Sam apologizing to Dean at the end, but I don't write the show. And on your point of Dean's continued guilt, after re watching the whole season 3 times, It's there, you can see it progress over the season. But towards the end of the season it dials back and is more subtle. So far we have seen his guilt in S8, I wonder how it will continue to play out this season?

Time for a Wedding- I have mixed feelings on this one, parts were funny and parts were just there.
I loved the exploding cake and I really liked the crossroads demon in this one before Crowley snatched him away. He was funny, snarky and had loads of charisma. I don't care for Becky or Garth, but I know certain people do so that is all I will say about them.
I did like how Sam teased Dean at the end, that was cute, we didn't have a lot of cute moments in S7, so when we did they really stood out for me.

Watched "How To Win Friends And Influence Monsters" and "Death's Door". I am continuing to enjoy these episodes more as I re-watch. Dean was amusing after he ate that turdurken sandwich. He didn't care about their situation and he didn't care that he didn't care. He was boyish and cute. That was probably the first time in his life that he truly didn't worry about anything. There were several amusing moments in that episode like the irate waiter calling Dean a Ken doll and Ranger Rick not caring that his Assistant was missing. Bobby's hunting skills were impressive, but the autopsy was . I screamed when the dead guy leaped off the table, but then I burst out laughing at the hail of bullets the guys fired. They made sure he did not get up again. Then there is the bibbing. Who thinks of that stuff? This episode showed me how clever the Leviathans were. Death's Door was well done and showed some surprising events in Bobby's life. He also declared how much he loved Sam and Dean. It was nice to hear it even though we knew he loved them. This episode also highlighted how strange the exchanges were between Rufus and Bobby in "And Then There Were None". Rufus was so unforgiving in that episode, but in this one, he was the most important friend to guide and help Bobby. Although they did not dwell on it, the conversation between Bobby and John W regarding the boys might have led to the fight between them. Sam and Dean showed how much they loved and needed Bobby and refused to accept the possibility of his dying. I thought the organ donor advocate might get hurt when he approached Dean. And we now know that Dick was overconfident when he bragged that Dean could not kill him. I have to hand it to Dick though because he was 8-)too cool in the previous episode when he was being sprayed with the cleaning agent. His employees were screaming their heads off and he was calm and maintained his smirk. Now that my other shows are on break, I should have more time to continue the marathon.

I haven't opened my season 7 dvd's yet. I guess because there were so many episodes I didn't like. But I'm sure that like you two, if I watch again, there will be somethings that appeal to me.
Frank was the best thing to happen to season 7. I still can't believe they let him die off camera, with no hint or clue to us what happened....beyond the obvious. I still miss Frank. I'm going to keep hoping he turns up again.

Hi I have watched S7 a total of 3 times at least and each time I did I found I liked it a little bit better. It will never be a favorite of mine but it is more tolerable now. I have to say watching the episodes one after the other helps a lot. you can focus more on what is going on as opposed to being distracted by other things.

7.11 Adventures in Babysitting was enlightening and I enjoyed it. It reminded me that Dean learned a lot of things about hunting while Sam was away. Ever since Sam’s return from school, they have been dealing with “save the world” issues rather than “catch up on monster lore 101”. It also plays into the recent episode where Sam told Dean that Dean is smart and the best hunter. The little girl did grow on me and I give my blessings for her to return for another episode.
7.12 Time After Time is one I really enjoy. Ness has always been portrayed as a cool dude, but Supernatural did not show him as squeaky clean as he is usually shown. Dean was both smart and adorable. It was so funny the way everyone made fun of his belief in Hollywood’s version of what happened. Seeing Sheriff Mills was a pleasure.
The gods are never portrayed in a positive light and we are getting ready to see another episode with gods in it.

7.13 The Slice Girls is another one of their gory episodes. I read that they wanted to show the actual chopping off of limbs but the network declined. I have not heard of any fans who copied the fancy chest carving as a tattoo. The episode gave Sam’s fans a break by having Dean be the one to hook up with a monster this time. The episode also showed how alone they were and that they needed someone they trusted to provide information.
7.14 Plucky Penniwhistle's Magical Menagerie was one that received a lot of negative feedback and I might have been influenced by that. This time, I was relaxed and I think the episode was entertaining. It reminded me of how Dean and Sam used to tease each other and that is fun to watch. The unicorn with the rainbow is priceless. I am not convinced the experience helped Sam to overcome his fear of clowns though.
I always like it when they succeed in saving people.

7.15 Repo Man First, I want to thank November for alerting me to the fact that Dean was wearing the amulet and ring in the flashback sequence; I would have missed that. For me, this episode highlighted the horrendous torture that is an integral tool for the hunters. The boys did not give it a second thought until Bobby and Meg revealed to them that a human also suffers the torture. A deleted scene showed Jeffrey staggering into the emergency room of the hospital and he was pitiful with broken bones and bloody all over.
When Jeffrey said “Please don’t hurt me.”, Dean had a look of chagrin and it was left up to Sam to explain the specific nature of obtaining information from demons. Jeffrey handled that horrible event pretty well at the time and even thanked Dean when he was left at the hospital. The revelation that demons send talent scouts to corrupt their vessels was interesting enough to be pursued, but they have not talked much about that. Although Jeffrey turned evil and fooled the boys and me, I still felt sorry for him.
Lucifer was entertaining, as usual.
7.16 Out With The Old This darn episode was rather gory. Robert Singer is a sicko, but at least we did not have to watch the little girl lose her feet. The characters were entertaining, especially the real estate lady. We need a character that we love to hate. The boys have received help from some unlikely sources like her assistant George. I don’t blame George for not wanting to be Scott. He was not exactly a chick magnet and he was a whiner complaining about up routing his life. Dean told him to go and don’t stop until he got somewhere he doesn’t speak the language. Did they or did they not kill “we’re going to cure cancer” George?
We had the pleasure of the “cranky paranoid go-to-guy” Frank plus Lucifer. That was nice.
I see a bad moon arisin’; I see trouble on the way…Frank is gone.
