OK, fellow "Supernatural" fans, after a one week hiatus, the boys are back in what Jared has described as a "cartoony, Loony-Tooney" episode.
After we watch, let's dish!

I love Looney Toons cartoons, but slapstick makes me barth, so I do not know what my rating will be. Who am I kidding? I'll rate it a 5 just because Castiel is in it. P.S. SoCal, thanks for making the poll.

Well, another not really great episode. Some good parts: Cas and Dean discussing Purgatory; Cas "interrogating" the widow; "best wife ever!" comment by Dean; Sam talking the crazy Frank out of his cartoon addled mind; both Cas and Sam realizing they can't run away from their pasts. But for the most part, it just didn't grab hold of me. And I am really sick of the Sam "flashbacks." Amelia doesn't interest me, although I thought her father was pretty good....the way he locked onto Sam being someone who looked like he had been in the military and had "seen a lot." Cute how they stop-motioned Dean flying through the air and captioned both he and the doctor just like in the old Road Runner cartoons. I'm looking forward to more serious stuff next week.

I agree some parts of it was pretty good. Actually, the episode was better than I anticipated. I was concerned it would be too silly, but they incorporated important revelations alongside the cartoons. I think it was an important change in the dynamics of their relationship when Dean was questioning Cas and Cas said "Dean! I said no!" and pouted. (I can't help it - I loved the pout ) When Dean said "Talk to me", I did not expect Castiel to tell him anything. He surprised me when he confessed what he had done in Heaven. I don't think the guys knew about that. I'm sure Dean will continue the discussion when there is an opportunity. I also enjoyed Sam refusing to give up the front seat. It reminded me of siblings always fighting to ride shotgun. If Sam had to ride in the back seat, this entire discussion would have to move to The Fight Club. Literal Cas is still a hoot. His interpretation of the Road Runner/Coyote was quite worthy of a spiritual being. Talking to the cat was questionable until the cat called him "Dumbass". Although I was curious about what caused the separation between Sam and Amelia, I think it is the lead-in to the flashbacks that annoys me. When they mentioned bladder infection and I looked at Sam's face, I said please don't tell me "bladder infection" is leading to a flashback. I do like the fact that the flashbacks give us a chance to see Sam's point-of-view of what happened during that fateful year. Sam handled Amelia's father's comments very well. Sam is really a people person and it shows in how he was able to get past the rude comments. I seem to be the only one who thought it was rather cold for a newly wed husband to volunteer to go to war and leave his wife behind. It sounded as if he couldn't wait to run out the door, so I don't know if Amelia wants him back. But... we know something happened. I guess we will learn through another flashback.

I really liked this one and gave it a 4. I was a little afraid they might go too far with the cartoon stuff and make it over the top, but I think they did a really good job balancing the humor and the drama this time. I liked seeing more of Sam's flashbacks, I think they have been neglecting Sam a bit much and it was nice to see and hear a few more things about his time off. I still don't care for Amelia and I don't think her and Jared have any chemistry, but at least she wasn't a stick figure in this one. I see now where Amelia gets her "charm from" I wonder how much of what we are seeing of Sam's time is actually real and how much could be perception. I think Jensen does comedy so well, and Dean in this kind of reminded me of the Dean we used to see, the one that didn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders. The one who could be a friend, and dig the ladies, and fight the bad guys. I like this Dean. I liked Cas in this one, he wasn't too much comic relief in this one, i was worried they would make it way too obvious of his role in this, but it was nice. I liked his trying to fit in with the guys and sit in the front seat, Sam gave him a pretty hard shove, poor Cas. His attempts at trying to crack the "suspects were funny and I so loved the part with the cat, I laughed out loud. His conversation with Dean was very open and honest, and I hope it helps Dean to open up a little to Sam about what he is going thru. I think the parallels between Sam and Cas will continue to run through the season. I think there is some major manipulation going on this season, just my thought, it doesn't mean I am right. I just think that there is and I am interested t see how it all plays out.

Hi I am happy with the episode too. I was able to relax and enjoy the hunt and the conversations. Dean does do comedy very well. I loved his expression when Cas told the wife about the affair and she was okay with it. That is one of Dean's most adorable expressions. Castiel was awesome! More penance, but this time Heaven is dictating it.

I saw the commercial and I've never been more tempted to watch. But not only did I forget, but my TiVo has been yelling at me. Last night, even after I had deleted a bunch of shows and cancelled syndicated reruns I was sure I had seen, I tried to extend the life of one show until I'd have time to watch and was told a show WILL NOT RECORD. So I was right to miss it.

I haven't read anyone else's reviews so this is my unbiased opinion of this episode. I really really liked it. The special effects they are using for Cas' powers are really great. I loved the looney tune theme and the way it tied into the deeper issue of older people being placed into nursing homes to rot. What happens when a person with Supernatural powers loses their mind? How can innocent people be protected? At first I was worried he would kill himself. I'm glad they didn't go down that road. I found the whole topic interesting and thought provoking. This time Sam's flashbacks tied into the story and I enjoyed them more then I normally do. His living him a dream world and being a mess. Very telling when Sam's referred to the Impala as his father's car and not his brother's car. I still find what's her name and what's her name's father annoying as hell. Plus I wasn't surprised when Don was really alive. I like my twists to actually be twists and that wasn't. Seems like the reason Sam was leaving what's her name in the first episode of the season was because her husband was coming back home and Sam living there would have been awkward. Cas being is hunter was cute, funny and awkward. Nice to see Cas will to face his bad decisions and the damage he caused when he was a 'god'. We are seeing more depth and emotion from Cas this season. I like it, it makes sense that the longer Cas is on Earth inacting with humans the more human emotion he has. Cas was on Earth for centuries but only watching and being loney. Next episode looks like it will be a look one, because I love me some Bennie.

Talking to the cat was questionable until the cat called him "Dumbass". I loved it when the cat called Cas a dumbass, that just seems like a very cat thing to me. Everything I see my cat he is either thinking, dumbass or where's my food servant. Spoiled cat.

I like Amelia more in this episode, but I still don't find her interesting and have a hard time believing in her and Sam's chemistry/relationship. I didn't care for Sam calling her "baby". I'm glad the cartoon stuff wasn't overdone; they struck a nice balance. Anyone else at all bothered that the father was the aviation guy from Phantom Traveler? I know they've reused actors before, but I don't usually pick up on it and they are typically bit players or small parts. This and Southern Comfort's wife stuck out like a sore thumb for me; it was always in the back of mind, and that took me out of the story a bit. Cute how they stop-motioned Dean flying through the air and captioned both he and the doctor just like in the old Road Runner cartoons. That was my favorite part. ;D Made the title make sense, too.

Still don't care for Amelia. Wow......she has huge Dumbo ears!
Hoping that since Cas has decided not to run away from his angelic duties, we will see less of him and other angels during the season. Nothing against Misha, but, as I've said before, if angels can cure/heal/save everything with the snap of a finger, then why do we need Dean and Sam and all the other hunters. He's a distraction now.

But Cas ("short form of my name" ) is the nicest distraction I could ever hope for. Did I use enough emoticons?
