Fluffy chocolate crackle cookies rolled in powdered sugar.
Preparation Instructions
1. Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler placed over simmering water. Stir as you go and remove the top bowl from the heat once it’s smooth and melted. Set aside to cool.
2. Beat the vegetable oil and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer for 1 to 2 minutes, until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition. Add the vanilla and mix it in. Set aside.
3. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture into the creamed mixture in three additions, blending just until incorporated. Add the melted chocolate and pecans and mix until well combined. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
4. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Put the powdered sugar in a shallow bowl. Using a small ice cream scoop, form the dough into small balls. Roll each ball in the powdered sugar to coat, and place on the prepared baking sheets spacing the cookies 1-inch apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until puffed up and cracked. Remove from the oven and let cookies cool on the pans for 10 minutes. Transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool completely.
Ingredients:
4 ounces, weight Unsweetened Chocolate, Chopped ½ cups Vegetable Oil 2 cups Sugar 4 whole Eggs 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract 2 cups All-purpose Flour 2 teaspoons Baking Powder ½ teaspoons Kosher Salt ½ cups Chopped Pecans 1 cup Powdered Sugar

My Christmas tree: www.daybow.com/photos/EP/Christmas_Tree_2012.JPGWhen I go to my aunt's house Sunday, I'll see if I can put the photo of me from Thanksgiving on Facebook. It may take a while for those of you who can't see my Facebook page. The people who let me borrow a camera are new neighbors and I had never really talked to them before. But they're really nice.

When I was in high school, I was part of a cconcert choir group that performed this for Christmas. Still one of my favorites.
I remember that our favorite song was "This Little Babe." It comes at about 10:15 into this video.

Kyle. Dude. It's about time to dust, my friend. I can't get back there. But I will, once the tree is gone. I hadn't noticed that before. Just pretend those are left over from Halloween decorations. Thanks for sharing your picture. This is the first year that I did not decorate so I do not have any pictures to share. When I was in high school, I was part of a cconcert choir group that performed this for Christmas. Still one of my favorites. I remember that our favorite song was "This Little Babe." It comes at about 10:15 into this video. The music is beautiful. I will not pretend to understand the words, but I enjoyed listening anyway.

My celebration is in two parts. Both are with my aunt and uncle.
Yesterday the choir at their church sang their Christmas cantata. For those who don't go to church, that means a lot of songs with narration in between. My aunt and uncle used to sing in the choir but for whatever reason they have stopped. My cousin still does and he had a solo where he said he wanted to ask Joseph in heaven what that first Christmas was like. His wife was the narrator and as usual did a very good job. Afterward she helped me put the photo of my Christmas tree and the photo my uncle took of my on Thanksgiving on Facebook and the photo of me on a site most of you will have to go to. See "OLD FACES COME SEE!" on the Charmed board here for a link.
We went to my aunt and uncle's house and ate lunch. My aunt said lunch was just for me, although I thought that was just done for my birthday. Well, with my aunt getting treatment they couldn't have us over for my birthday. But it was rice with beef, potatoes and carrots like my other aunt used to make when I visited, before she quit cooking even for herself and started taking me to fish places. There was also slaw and green beans. I only had room for slaw.
I went back and got on the computer, expecting my cousin's wife to show up sooner. As often happens, I got so busy that I could hear others leaving before I had been able to spend hardly any time with them. And the computer was so slow. I never made it here. The cousin who sang and his wife came with their three kids, and one other cousin was there alone since her sons had other plans, and another cousin came with her husband, but none of their kids or grandkids came along.
The big celebration is Wednesday, but unlike in past years, it will be supper, not lunch because so many are working. I don't like going home after dark but that will be the only way I can spend any time with the others.
Edit: This will make the day even worse, but my aunt said no one will be home until 4. I ws planning to come early since I don't have anyplace else to be.
Tomorrow is just a Tuesday when no mail is delivered. I'll take the tree down and I promise to get rid of those cobwebs since, just briefly, I'll be able to get back there.

From a newspaper columnist with an attitude problem:
"at a mall in Texas on Black Friday, when one man pulled a gun on another for – get this – cutting in line. That’s not the surprising part, since we all know people who’ll let nothing come between them and honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by spending loads of cash."

When I think back to where we were last year--not even knowing how to sign in as admins or do anything on the board, I'm reminded how unimportant that was in light of simply finding a place for our people to be together. And that's ultimately what it's all about.
Each one of you is the best Christmas gift I could ever hope for, so, thank you for being here and creating magic, humor, family, and community this past year, and I hope we see more of you each day in the coming year.
The best Christmas gift we give is each other.
Merry Christmas, my friends!

I took down the tree and opened one "present". I have an aunt who sends a check with a Christmas card, but I haven't opened it yet. The present cost as much as the usual amount of the check. When it's time to wash them, I normally take the sheets off my bed and either get up or try to get some more rest on the love seat. But the love seat is absolutely covered with clean clothes. Fortunately, I decided it was time to get new sheets. I got them at a place called Anna's, since KMart has only expensive sheets with the names of celebrities or Cannon sheets, which I refuse to buy because the company shut down and put thousands out of work and then sold the name to someone else who probably makes those sheets in another country. I don't know what happened to the cheap sheets I bought and am now replacing.
These sheets are soft but don't feel very sturdy. I'd rather have sturdy. The old fitted sheet was tearing, though. And the pillowcases had gotten disgusting.
Those of you who saw the photo of my tree will be glad to know I got rid of most of the cobwebs. If I can get the vacuum cleaner close enough when I actually vacuum I may do more. But I've got to put back the junk that goes where the tree was.
Every year I leave a few balls on the tree. But I was very diligent about looking for balls. And I still found four when I put the tree away. They're still in the living room rather than stored. It's important not to leave any after I left four or five and something got into the tree. Those look snow-covered now (while the critter's nest was very colorful) but I'd rather have the colors.

Kimba seems to think there is a rule against this. She changed my post on the OLD FACES COME SEE thread on the Charmed board. That's where my photo is.

Kimba seems to think there is a rule against this. She changed my post on the OLD FACES COME SEE thread on the Charmed board. That's where my photo is. I haven't looked at it yet, but if the URL address you gave is correct, that would constitute hot-linking, as it comes from DavidHayes1956's website rather than a Photobucket or other image-sharing account of your own. So, yes, there is a very prominent rule against that, and Kimba was doing her job. UPDATE: I see that she even took the image and hosted it on her own PhotoBucket account for you, so you might want to thank her for that.

Well, with all the complications involved in just getting the two photos where someone come see them, I didn't want to add starting a Photobucket account to that. I thought that rule was about avatars.

It's a rule for any image that is seen on the boards, whether it'd be a link in a thread, an avatar, or a picture in your signature, a direct link from another website is considered hotlinking.
