Happy One Year Anniversary

Can you believe it has been one year since the CW kicked us off the boards with only 24 hour noticed?

This place has been a safe haven for all of us to reconnect with the people we have come to love (and hate) on line.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I remember that day very well. I am very grateful our friends quickly created a home for us.

yep I remember sign up and a week later or so off to disney world for christmas and came back and this board look great happy to see it still going today.

Timeline:

December 14th, 2011--the CW announces they are shutting down the CW Lounge forum right away, and invites us to 'join them on Twitter and Facebook.'

We say "no way in hell."

December 19th 2011--The Evicted is created.

I remember this the spam started at Cw about football jerseys, the mods didnt do their job and got lazy and than closed us down and booted us out.

It's not that they were lazy or didn't do their jobs...the truth is, they all knew the board was going to be closed and were told not to worry about the spamming.

I was just adjusting to my new username Brainychick85 and I received a message from Chloe that the CW boards were closing, I logged in for the last time that day and I was stunned that it was happening. I was grateful when these boards were created and so glad things are getting better since that fateful day nearly one year ago!

Thank you to Mistermoonlight for even having the wonderful idea of making our own home. I remember wishing I was able to take that web design class in college, but we all made it happen. The staff may have made this place possible, but it's the members who keep it going.

Thank you, MM, for creating this forum. I feel the nostalgia of the old homeland known as the WB boards with some of these forums, but it's just not the same.

Nonetheless, thanks for creating this site! We've had this for just about a year now, and we all owe it to you.

Thanks to Aeryn for the background on what was going on with the CW Mods and why we couldn't understand how they were allowing the incredible spam attacks to continue unabated.

The announcement that the CW Lounge would be closed within hours made us realize that we had an enemy, one that did that did not understand the power of relationships built online, in some cases for as long as a decade. We knew what we had, even if they didn't.

The most despicable and insecure thing the CW did during those last few days was to come back with a vengeance that they never showed against the spammers, and wipe out all of the posts by members who were trying to stay in touch with their friends and give contact info. They attacked their own forum members, then invited us to join them on Twitter and FaceBook, like none of that had really happened.

We first fled to the abandoned WB Forum. It was ours for the taking, and 75 made their way there. It was glorious. Until Aeryn warned that a CW Mod had been nosing around there, and she was right, because we found it closed within 24 hours.

At this point we took to FaceBook to try and keep our folks together. Shortly afterwards we realized that the only way to keep this community that we all valued together, was to create our own place. And The Evicted was born. Born not just of one, or a few, but all of us. And we vowed to try and find all of our comrades.

We are still looking for those missing in action.

And we won't stop until we find them all.

Actually, I'd been told quite a lot of information over the years, but was sworn to secrecy...like, "If you repeat this to any members, I'll make sure your account is perma-banned." But since that forum is gone, I can repeat anything I like now.

Yes, I noticed that Mod Tierra was snooping around the WB site. She was the main tech person for the CW, and there was no legitimate reason why she should've been on the WB. I knew she was up to no good.

Our one-year anniversary is exactly one week away, and we'd love to have your ideas on how to celebrate it.

Since our people are what makes this forum live I'd like to ask that we all contact a member or two who hasn't been here in a while and invite them to come back and join us for the celebration.

Wouldn't it be great if we could outdo our previous record of 56 people online at the same time, and shoot for 100?

There are people we all miss, and I can't think of anything better than having them here to join us.

Please contribute your ideas about celebrating this first anniversary.

Hey all!

MM, you got mail.

I will always be thankful that the old CWL existed, and I met so many people there that have become good friends over the past three years or so.

And it was there, in the CFC2, that someone posted a link that literally changed my life. To a kickstarter campaign for a project created by some of the SPN crew...and the rest is history. I was quite distressed and angry at the CW when my internet home-away-from-home got taken away, so thank God there was a place created for all us castaways here, it was a way to not just re-create but to improve on what we had lost.

Happy Anniversary to all! It's been quite the year.
