OLIVER HANGS UP HIS HOOD — Oliver’s confidence is shaken after being beaten by the Dark Archer and he takes a break from being Arrow. However, when Laurel calls Arrow for help investigating a firefighter’s suspicious death, he reluctantly agrees but his hesitance while fighting almost costs him his life. Meanwhile, Tommy throws a benefit for the firefighters and Thea tries to lift Moira out of her depressive state. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Moira Kirland & Ben Sokolowski.

I guess every vigilante/hero must go through a personal crisis at times. After defeat by the Dark Archer, Oliver felt he had failed the city he had sworn to protect. Diggle keeps encouraging Oliver to continue his quest.
I’m glad Oliver went through his self-doubt during the mid-season break so I did not have to suffer along with him (like I have done several seasons for my favorite show). The episode turned out to be pretty good although the premise was rather gruesome. When Laura’s best friend asked her help to investigate the death of her brother, Laura appealed to Arrow. He reluctantly agreed to look into it. Oh no, he faced another defeat! But when the villain showed up at a fund raiser Oliver and Tommy gave for the victims, Arrow jumped into action and helped to save everyone. My hero! *swoon*
The Media is now calling Arrow a hero. Laura’s father has set a trap for Arrow and is using his own daughter as bait. I cannot feel sorry for Moira even though she has been moping over the "abduction" of her husband. She knows who took him and she is the one who had Oliver kidnapped and tortured. No sympathy for her from me.
