This episode was very exciting all the way through. Belle and Mulan met in the past. At fist, Belle was trying to kill a beast on her own and Mulan was hunting the same beast. Then Mulan was injured and had to rely on Belle to slay the beast. Belle did pretty well in solving the mystery of the beast.
In present day Storybrooke, Gold tested the spell that would allow him to cross the Storybrooke line without losing his memory. Hook trapped Belle and she called Gold for help. When Gold rushed to her, the cloak he needed to find Bea was stolen and given to Hook.
Belle is a smart girl and she found her way onto Hook's ship and obtained the cloak for Gold and freed Cricket.
The ending to the episode was shocking and tragic so I won't reveal it here. It is worth watching.

I forgot this one. Mulan was more likeable. I don't get their concerns about outsiders. How else would they have gotten technology and modern conveniences? There must have been outsiders at some point. I felt bad for Mr. Gold. And now I know why Robert Carlyle didn't get any nominations . He had yet to show the emotions he did this week.

I felt bad for Mr. Gold too. I kept hoping that by holding Belle when she fell across the line, Mr. Gold's spell would protect her memory. But she did not recognize her name. Now, we will have a furious Mr. Gold in addition to a vengeful Regina and Cora.
When I saw the title, I wondered if I was watching the wrong episode. I guess there will be more focus on outsiders next episode.
I think Carlyle is an excellent actor.
