What are some books you absolutely hated?
I have a few that I wanted to burn up but only read them because they were required reading in school. Here is my small list of books that I personally hated:
The Giver by Lois Lowery-tells of a Communism society and how one boy is to be the leader of the entire group and how they also support the deaths of many babies and the boy destined to be the leader tries to rescue one of the babies from being putting to death
A Chronicle of a death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez-tells of a young bride's lover being killed brutally by her twin brothers and the events that led up to the murder and after the murder of her lover.
The Awakening by Kate Chopin-tells of a mid 30s woman who has a mental break down after her 20 something year old lover rejects her and she is driven to the brink of her depression and eventually suicides in the end of the book.
Annie John by Jamaica Kincaid-tells of a young girl from the Caribbean and her abusive mother who is constantly putting her down for one thing or another. Her mother is mean and does a lot of mean tricks to her daughter like fixing her least favorite meal and making her believe it is something different and then laughs in the girl's face for tricking her.

I liked the giver because he stood up for what he believed and actually rescued the baby
The others i have not read.
There is one book that i simply did not get and have tried rereading without success.many of you will think I'm crazy but the catcher in the rye didn't seem as amazing to me as everyone else

I have read a few clips from that book, never actually read the entire thing though!

Sometimes we can learn to relove books but the books I hated I have no intentions to reread again!

That's true but I feel I missed it I was in such a hurry to finish it that I missed the meaning of the story

I am not fond of the book "Little Men" by Lousia May Alcott but I didn't hate it though!
