This episode brings back one of my favorite Justified bad guys--Wynn Duffy. He was magnificent last season, even though he played second banana to one of my favorite villains of all time, Robert Quarles. Wynn more than held his own.
It was ironic to see Boyd Crowder back in a church, given his time as a survivalist cult leader/evangelist a few season back.
It was good to see Raylan's boss Art Mullen back in an episode again. He's one of my favorite characters, and gets a lot of the really good lines when he's featured.

I think both last week’s and this week’s episodes had great dialogue and like you said, we are seeing some of the characters that we know are dangerous, like Wynn Duffy. I think the boss is not ready to retire if he gives interviews like this one: “I got a young kid here, decorated sniper in Iraq war, army ranger, I don’t know how many kills he had, always looking to kill somebody else, probably got PTSD, probably an alcoholic, not a matter of if that powder keg’s going to blow, but when. I got a lady marshal here, brought in the top 15 fugitives to this office but still always trying to prove herself. I thought she would be the one to take this office over when I got ready to retire, but now she’s left her husband. So it’s going to be fun to monitor her emotional state over the next year to see if she can keep it together. And then I got a local boy, born in Harlan County. He’s been investigated so many times; internal affairs got him on speed dial.” Waldo’s family is certainly the wild bunch. I knew the marshals were in trouble when the boys did not think they would live as long as they had. I had a big laugh while the mother was running her “how we met” story because the marshals were looking at the family members smoke dope, pop pills, younger one gave Raylan two middle digits and drew a gun, and the boss was confiscating their weapons. The wife’s dialogue bears repeating. Wife: What’s your goldfish got to do with me being married? Waldo: I thought we were talking about shit that don’t matter. Wife: The most romantic thing a man ever said to me. I remember when Boyd tried to go straight and be a preacher man. He had a silver tongue so I knew he could go word-for-word with that new preacher.

Can't wait to see that new preacher (or should I say, his sister) and Boyd go up against each other, with snakes in their mouths, in the latest episode, which I hope to watch tonight or tomorrow.
This show, as you well-documented, has some of the best writing (and therefore acting) on TV. Each character is a gift.
We never saw Robert Quarles die, so I have a misguided hope that one day we may see him again.

Wynn Duffy had some great lines too. When he told Boyd he could not be partners with someone he could not trust, Boyd said he could be trusted. Then Wynn said he didn't even trust the way Boyd said he could be trusted. I think I laughed through 25% of the episode. Crowder said he was closed for some interior decorating. Wynn looked at his employee, who was tied up, and said "I hope he's not the interior decorator."
