Vance is a cold-blooded killer and a worthy adversary since he has a lot of money and a fortress. The best dialogue is when he tells Laurel how he has planned to thwart Arrow's attempt to rescue her.
He's going up against trained men with their fingers on the triggers of guns that fire up to 600 rounds per minute; I'm no Einstein but that's a lot of bullets.

And even if he were to take them out, I have two sharpshooters on the roof.

*cut to Arrow shooting arrows into 2 sharpshooters on the roof*

And even if he were to get by them, what's he going to do with this veritable army of sons of bitches I've got waiting for him?

*cut to Arrow taking out the "army*

And Arrow knocked Vance's evil woman out cold.

I love the flashbacks and I think Arrow does them better than any show I have seen. ("Lost" did good flashbacks but sometimes they were confusing.) I like Diggle standing up to Oliver instead of being a "yes" man and forcing Oliver to face the truth about Moira.

Another thing I like about this show and this episode is that the Lieutenant in the Police Department approves of the help Arrow or "The Hood" has given them against criminals even though Laurel's father hates the vigilante.

Family drama for everyone.
