Zombies and governors and crazies, oh my! At last, a good show is returning. Can hardly wait to see what happens to Daryl and Merle.

I agree. How could Daryl just take off with Merle after seeing what a complete a--hole he was. I guess Merle gets some cred for not really trying to kille Daryl in the death match, but not much.
I found that scene way too short and unsatisfying. Where is Rick getting all these weapons and ammunition?
What's up with Glenn and Maggie. What should have really cemented them together seems to be causing a crack in their relationship. And Hershel, calling Glenn "like my own son???" Wow, that was heartbreaking...they've come so far in their relationship.
As for the new guys. Are they all devious? Or just the one guy?
And Rick is clearly not over his psychotic break from Lori's death. His hallucination seems to indicate that he is really off his rocker.
What's the deal with the governor and Andrea? How can she stick up for him and Woobury after seeing him pit Merle and Daryl in a fight to the death?
And, lastly, Carol. My heart just broke for her when Rick told here Daryl went off with Merle. She just can't get a break. A creep for a husband....luckily zombies kill him, then a daughter turned into a zombie and put down by Rick, then finding someone to care for her, only to have him go off and leave her alone.
Lil' Asskicker bassinette!!!! Wow. Looking forward to next week.

Lil' Asskicker bassinet!!!! Wow. Looking forward to next week. Wow! I hope you do a summary every week. I won't have to go back and watch it again to figure out what happened. Thank you! I know blood is thicker than water, but I was hoping Daryl wouldn't leave. I think Carol was trying to understand Daryl's leaving with his bully brother when she said she hopes she wouldn't leave with her abusive husband if he were alive and walked through the door. I was surprised too that the arena action scene between the brothers was brief. I was shocked at Glenn's responses to Maggie. I am torn between wondering if he feels bad because he did not protect her or if she is now less than perfect in his eyes. Whatever it is, I hope they work it out. I think Tyreese is okay and he seems tough enough to overrule the scumbag who thought - emphasis on thought - they could take on the girl and the kid. I laughed because they do not want to mess with Carl. After Rick went crazy and was waving that gun around, they probably could not beg the new people to stay. OT: SoCal, the reason I said Sam W was not "insane" is because Rick demonstrates my idea of "insane". I loved the bassinet. Did Daryl put the name on or did Carol? That is so sweet.

I forgot about Andrea. I think the Woodbury residents listened to her because they have seen her in action and she knew how to talk to them. And she seems to be Governor's first lady. Something is seriously wrong with Andrea for her to want to stay with the Governor. And why are she and the people upset that the Governor shot the man who was mauled by walkers? They could not save him. How would you have voted?Poll tally below. < < < < < < < <

Hi folks. Finally about to get a chance to watch last night's episode. It's been hard keeping myself spoiler-free, but I've done it so far, and will post back here when I've seen the show.
I read that it was another record-breaking return for TWD, with 12.3 million viewers tuning in.

This show is doing as well as network shows. That means we should have additional seasons coming up.

Now, if AMC could just stop firing the showrunners each season. Ok, I'm at the opening scene. Liked the way it got us back into the story where it left off, then resolved the 'bro on 'bro fight. Plus Daryl got his crossbow back. Merle's comments lead me to believe that he had a plan of his own for getting them out even if Rick and the gang hadn't showed up strangely at just the right minute to spring them. Loved the way Rick handled the argument in the woods by just knocking Merle out mid-rant with the butt of his pistol. Didn't see that coming. And neither did Merle. I like Tyrese. I understand he's a major character in the comics. I would have loved to have been in the writers room when someone came up with the line we heard Rick say during his argument with Glen about Merle, "This is the hand we've been dealt!" I love the way they showed us Rick was still crazy as he held his baby daughter. It was all done with sound effects and the camera going hazy for a moment. Nicely underplayed. Great line from Carol, "Daryl has his code. This world needs men like that." How cool is the plastic postal service bin/ cradle for the baby that says "Lil Ass-Kicker" on the side?

I think Daryl snatching the bow was the coolest move of the opening scene.
No one saw that coming. Daryl looked surprised but he did not seem angry about it. He probably wanted to do the same thing because Merle was deliberately antagonizing everyone.

Every time Merle opens his mouth, I want to punch him. Nothing that comes out of his gob is redeeming. The only person who seemed to be able to "tame" him was the governor. If Merle died in next weeks episode, I wouldn't miss him. He may be more annoying than Lori was, and that's saying something.

I wanted both Merle and Daryl to survive only because I had forgotten what a jerk Merle was. Yeah, they can go ahead and kill Merle off. Should they let Andrea back in if she asks nicely? I am going to watch some episodes of S1 to get a feel for the original characters. I had my eyes closed for most of the scary scenes, but I think I can handle it now - during daylight.

Andrea is pretty good with a gun and a knife, but the fact that she would bond so quickly with the governor (and Shane as well) leaves me to think she isn't all that stable in the long run. But, they need a strong woman in the group and so far, Maggie notwithstanding, Andrea would fit that bill. She sure doesn't seem to shy away from running up to a zombie to "kill" it.

How nice of Lori to show up just at the end (in Rick's mind, anyway, and wearing her wedding dress) just as Tyreese's group is making their case to join the main group. What will become of the Ricktatorship as he continues to lose it just at the point where a giant fight between his group and The Governor's minions is looming?
And I kinda love that Daryl and Merle are off on their own. Who knows what's gonna happen with that?
I'm so glad to have this show back. And I hope that AMC will also see the light of these phenomenal ratings and give us more episodes next season.
