So I'm going to another Supernatural Con which means I'm working on another project. This one is an applique quilt. I did a test block to see if I could do it. Another person going to the con did the original artwork I used as a pattern. She knows I used it I don't steal other people work that would be wrong. I just can't draw at all. I don't think I did her work justice. here is my test block. ![]() |

That's beautiful. But I don't understand how you get the artwork onto the material. Looks good to me.

That's beautiful. But I don't understand how you get the artwork onto the material. Looks good to me. Her artwork is a line drawing. I cut out small pieces for each part and use steam a seam to fuse it onto the blue block. Then I stitched the black of the eyes, the nose and the mouth. I took an applique class to learn how to do this. If I decide to use this block I will stitch around each piece to keep the fabric for fraying like it's doing on the tie. The actual drawing is so cute. This is tumblr so I think this isn't a hot link. That was the original artwork. I couldn't do the lines around the eyes which is to bad I loved the effect of that. I e-mail the artist a picture of the block. To me it's stealing to just take someone's work and make something without their permission. I won't do that.  |

I finished a new block. My artist friend Angie once again did the art. He is suppose to be holding a glass of Craig scotch. ![]() Here is a side by side with the picture. There is a crown in the drawing but my hubby accidentally Photoshopped it out. He used Photoshop to erase the background and give me a clean image to work with. ![]() |

Get this he checks my car in the morning to see if there is any ice. If so he starts the defroster so the ice will melt and the car will be warm for me. I totally snagged me one of the good guys. ;D |

I was working on Lucifer last night. I should finish him tonight or tomorrow. These block have some tiny pieces.  I'm glad I got an OTT lite at a black friday sale last night. It floods the area with light so I can see the tiny pieces. The blue for his eyes is really really small. I just used black thread for the pupil. Each block is 6X6. The whole piece should only be 18X24 since it's a display quilt. I might make a bigger verision down the line. |
