I don't know how they managed to do it but she become even more useless than Lisa! I missed a couple of episodes... so I may have missed the point of her ? If so, what was it? If not All of those stupid flashbacks served no purpose?

Thanks for the laugh. You should make a poll, but I don't know which reason I would choose. 1. to explain why Sammy did not look for Dean 2. to make Sammy realize hunting is better than nesting with Amelia 3. they really wanted the dog, but the dog insisted Amelia had to be included 4. they wanted Sammy to catch as much flak about a woman as Dean did about Lisa I'm sure there are countless possible answers. C'mon ladies, what do you think? P.S. I hated the flashbacks regardless of Amelia's purpose.

5. Even when they come with a dog, chicks are still bad news for Sam.
6. Sam was feeling left out of all the "nesting" Dean got to do at Lisa's house.
7. Even usually good shows hire crappy writers.
8. People who have written good shows in the past aren't necessarily good show runners.

9. Sera Gamble bet Jeremy Carver that he couldn't create a love interest as boring hateful bitchy as her Lisa. She now owes him 50 bucks.
10. Jeremy Carver thought he was redoing the sixth season instead of picking up where the seventh season left off.
11. They honestly thought it was good until they watched the show.
12. They had a purpose for Amelia and then chicken out when they realize they shot themselves in the foot by having Sam not look for Dean. Now, they're running around going "oh shit, oh shit, we're need a new idea! Uh, I got it, we'll give the brothers the Men of Letters and Sam the trials and everyone will forget our little season starter mishap."
13. They have a purpose! You just have to wait until the mad-three episode dash at the end of the season for it. (And watch convention videos and read interviews to get it!)
14. Carver really wanted to see Jared with his shirt off.
15. It wasn't suppose to suck that much.
16. It was Robert Singer's idea.*
17. It was Carver's revenge on Jared's welcoming back prank.
*(It worked for Sera on Robo-Sam when she was asked!)

I don't think there was a purpose for Amelia, other than to bore us to tears.

These were all good. I especially like Evil's. My other favorite was lemongrover's Sera/Carver making a bet on who's love interest would do worse. I do get that Amelia was supposed to show us another side of Sam, but I got to gripe here. WTF? I can't get over how SPN can't create a good love interest to save their lives. They've had 8 freaking seasons of fumbles. Plus, the "rabid fan girls" get the blame for no one liking SPN's lame love interests. How hard is it to have a love interest who is... (1) Competent in a dangerous world (2) Interesting in her own right (3) Doesn't make the guys look dumb, or shoot them, or get them to do stupid things (4) Non-villainous (5) Doesn't bore everyone with domesticity I think that there is room for love interests in SPN, otherwise Destiel wouldn't be so damn popular. (Yes, I might have kicked a hornet's nest there) Yes fellow soldiers can care, but not always agree. Plus have their own compelling reasons to help the Winchesters. Where I'm trying to go is that SPN does manage to create characters that could be interesting love interests, but it always seems unintentional. Tessa? Pamela? Why do the intentional ones suck? Because of Bela, I can't just blame domesticity. Whoops, sorry, I got serious in a fun thread. Oh well. I couldn't think of a better reason than, "SPN/RS is totally clueless on how to make an intentional love interest unless they get to kill her."
