Ok guys we had a few threads like this but one deserves to be here as well its simple just continue the story please only three sentences max per turn Rain pelted from the sky a cold wind laced its fingers around me. I shivered in the crowded town center. Suddenly I felt the burn of someones gaze and swirled to see a strange shadow of a man standing a few yards away glaring at me.

I can only hope that he has mistaken me for another. For in my brief time upon this earth, I have done nothing to deserve his malevolent stare. The coldness is seeping throughout my body.

The frightening man turned from me and made his way through the crowd. I had no choice my instincts told me to follow him despite the fear he caused within me. One way or another i would discover the meaning behind that look.

His demeanor caused the crowd to part quickly before him which made it easy for me to follow. He has not bothered to turn his head to see if I will follow; I feel he is confident that I will follow where he leads whether it is for good or ill. I continue to shiver.

His demeanor and the quick moving crowd seemed ominous, my thoughts were filled with warnings to abandon this silly notion of following him. But something i couldn't help nor resist tugged me along assuring me i needed to follow him, that it was important that i follow him. So i continued, i tried to be as inconspicuous as possible but i had the uneasy feeling that he knew i was following him and that he knew he exactly where he was leading me.

With that knowledge in mind he hurried away sticking to the shadows drawing me into the darkness with him. That thought chilled me worse than the violent wind lashing about. I saw him throw subtle glances over his shoulder to ensure I was still following. He made an abrupt turn and finally, fearfully I could see his destination up ahead, a strange darkened building with the door slightly ajar, the severe wind and chill were nothing compared to the icy ache that the building created within me

The building had belonged to my great-grandmother Lana, who I am told was a tyrant of a woman, she had three of her husbands killed all because they refused to give the desires of her heart. What were the desires of her heart? I never did find out, but on this journey I hope to find out what they were!

This was the very building in which they were killed.a chill crept down my spine, why did he lead me here the answer seemed only too obvious. I turned to run at the very last minute but it was too late for that the shadowy man knew my intention and suddenly he sprung after me

As he blocked my path, I looked into his eyes; and close up, his eyes reminded me of someone that I could not immediately place. But the eyes held no malice and my fear lessened just a little. He said, “Stay awhile and learn the answers you crave.”

His eyes calmed the fear welling up in me, yet i still felt as if something was off. however i had yearned all my life for answers concerning my grandmothers mysterious life, some instinct told me to turn around to refuse his offer but i couldn't help it he'd said the one thing that would keep me here. He knew he'd trapped me with that offer it was in the way he turned from my questioning gaze and slipped into that darkened doorway leaving me out here in the mercilessweather to wrestle with my instincts as the trees wrestled with the wind , and like the trees my instincts were pushed down made to submit as my curiosity forced them back much like that forceful wind, i took the first step towards that building...

I felt the floorboards beneath my feet begin to creak a little, was it because the building hadn't been used in decades or was something more sinister at work here? I felt my palms begin to sweat a little and I felt my heart start to race. I took a deep breath uncertain as what awaited me next in the house, all I could do is wait and see.

After glancing at the floorboard, I looked up and the man I thought of as my guide was gone, or so I thought. It was so dark I could not be sure. Then my childhood fear of the dark returned in a rush and froze me to the spot. At that moment, I wished the fearsome man, whether friend or foe, would appear before me or I might stand rigidly in that spot unable to will myself to move.

A slow fear filled my stomach with icy fire as my wish was granted, it wasn't the man who returned but someone or something else that inched its hand up the small of my back and gave me a gentle push forward I was startled screaming and gasping all at the same time! I yanked myself around to see who had pushed me. At first it was merely just the darkness surrounding me but as I squinted my eyes I could make out a shape lurking within the darkness, I knew it wasn't the shadowy man.

Whatever was in the darkness was more terrifying than what might be behind me. Finally, I was able to whirl back around and retreated farther into the depths of the house. As I retreated, mysterious lights began to appear as if to give me courage to continue or maybe to guide me recklessly into worse danger. I was too scared to look behind me because I feel whatever was in the shadows was supernatural.

I heard a deep laugh behind as I stood to my feet, I brushed off the dirt off my blue jeans that were now caked with dirt. The laugh sounded familiar and yet didn't, it made me scared of what awaited me next, before I could catch my breath I felt something brush against my arm. I screamed so loud I heard a feminine voice speak, "Hush my child, you'll wake the baby!"

I tried in vain to search for the origins of that voice, when I started asking questions of the mysterious owner of the voice the guiding lights were snuffed out immediately. I held my hands out before me searching for a way out of this maze. Suddenly to replace the lights a sweet soft melody whispered through unseen speakers towards me, the sounds calmed my anxiety

It sounded similar to the lullaby that my father had sang to me when I was still a little girl, I hadn't heard that lullaby in years and now it was bringing back a flashback to mind. In my flashback I could see fire coming out of the windows of a nursery and a little girl wrapped up in a pale pink blanket, is this girl me, I wondered to myself. Then that is when I hear my father humming the lullaby of "all through the night" it was a peaceful song of a peaceful time in my life, alas my father now has dementia and barely remembers me or even these events that took place all those years ago.

The beautiful sounds brought back haunting memories. Memories to give me such sorrow at losing my father to such an ugly disease, no amount of time could heal that pain but maybe this might be the place I'll finally find answers

As I traveled down the corridor, I sighed as I reached the door with the silver doorknob. I wondered if I dared turn the knob, what if my memories and fears were more than I could imagine? I took a deep breath, wiped my sweaty palms on my blue jeans, counted silenty to ten and turned the knob.

I was nervous for what might be on the other side of such a heavy door so I opened it cautiously, then my desire for the truth took over and I shoved that door with all my might. I'd hoped to come into a room full of answers anything to silence my questioning mind, what I found merely made me question more, the room was empty and dark. I felt lost and tricked I walked forward to inspect the room sure there must be something I wasn't seeing suddenly a blinding blaze of lights came forth from hidden lights on the floor nearthe center of the room in the center of the circle of lights sat a man with a dark strange hat and an even stranger smirk...

"Greetings, I am glad you finally made it." he said removing the hat. He walked towards me, as he walked I saw he had a slight limp, it made me wonder he had gotten that limp. It was as he limped towards me it was like I somehow knew how he had gotten the limp, and it was all because of me but how was this possible?

The strange man circled me this made me nervous he saw my discomfort and spoke in a low voice "Dear don't be nervous I won't harm you" I hated the way he called me dear and made sure he knew it "Don't call me dear you don't even know me!" The strange man chuckled, somehow the sound chilled me, then he spoke again "You say I don't know you but dear I know you very well indeed. We may have spent years apart but still I know you." I wanted to speak but some strange gripping feeling told me his words were soon to reveal something Id needed to know all my life. "What I've done may be deemed wrong by some but I did it for you, I even searched for someone that would be a good father for you someone that would keep you safe in your vulnerable years the years in which I would have poisoned you with who and what I am." "Wait! What are you talking about!?" I demanded "Dear that ill man is not your father, you are my daughter I simply chose him as a temporary father for you"
And now it wasn't just the room that was dark there was some kind of awful spiraling darkness flaring up in my vision my world was slipping through my fingers Yet I sensed there might be something in that darkness I needed to know...

I stared at him, his gray blue eyes met mine, it was then I saw features of myself in his face. He smiled softly at me, "Dear, your mother died having you so I had you raised by her only sister and husband because of my employment situation I didn't dare bring you along, it was much too dangerous."
I then began to wonder, were my actual.parents spies or was it something far more dangerous than he was letting on, but why was he telling me this now?

Yikes. What happened to the 3 sentence rule? I stared at him, his gray blue eyes met mine, it was then I saw features of myself in his face. He smiled softly at me, "Dear, your mother died having you so I had you raised by her only sister and husband because of my employment situation I didn't dare bring you along, it was much too dangerous." I then began to wonder, were my actual.parents spies or was it something far more dangerous than he was letting on, but why was he telling me this now? Run-on sentences don't count. I hope you aren't mad, but here is how i would correct it: I stared at him as his gray-blue eyes met mine. I suddenly saw myself through him as he smiled softly at me. He responds: "Dear, your mother's sister raised you with her husband's help. I'm sorry I couldn't be around but it was too dangerous with my job." While I was realizing the connection, i wonder if he's telling the truth and if my parents were spies, then why am I just now finding out?
