Game of Thrones S2 Comments

I watched S2, episode 1 yesterday and the Stark children are all in perilous situations. Robb and Arya appear to be in the most dangerous situations, but their sister Sansa, as Joffrey's betrothed, is suffering more than them.

I watched episodes 2 and 3 today. I am enjoying the intrigue and I am still rooting for Robb Stark and Arya. I think Sansa will continue to be miserable but they need to keep her alive if they ever want to have any semblance of cooperation from the North. Sansa has already begun to manipulate Joffrey and I'm sure she will become very efficient in that area.

Tyrion is my favorite Lannister. He is clever and not heartless like the rest of his family. He did try to warn Jon Snow that he would not like The Wall. He is very good at manipulation and is willing to fight with his sister, which requires courage.

S02, E03(First Aired: April 15, 2012)
Tyrion plots to gain alliances through the promise of marriage; Catelyn arrives in the Stormlands; Luwin tries to decipher Bran's dreams.

S02, E04(First Aired: April 22, 2012)
Joffrey punishes Sansa; Catelyn tries to get Stannis and Renly to unite against the Lannisters; Dany arrives at the gates of Qarth; Arya and Gendry are taken to Harrenhal; Davos must smuggle Melisandre into a secret cove.

Both of these were excellent episodes. Tyrion , in my opinion, is the cleverest of them all. It’s too bad he is being blamed along with the rest of his family for their evil deeds, but I have faith he will rise above it. Tyrion said Joffrey is a lost cause and I agree with him. I am looking forward to Joffrey suffering a long and cruel death.

I was looking forward to Renly and Stannis having a battle of wits and I do not like Stannis resorting to black magic. Lady Brienne fights like a man and I hope she helps to keep Lady Stark safe.

I am enjoying Arya’s adventures and wonder what will happen next with her. I have been fascinated with Daenerys’ beautiful from the beginning and the desert has not diminished it. Perhaps being raised by her selfish brother has given her strength of will that is unusual for a girl her age, and I enjoyed the way she handled the 13 at the gates of Qarth. I always look forward to seeing her again.

Game of Thrones : The Ghost of Harrenhal
S02, E05 (First Aired: April 29, 2012)
The end of the Baratheon rivalry drives Catelyn to flee; Tyrion is alerted to Joffrey's flawed defense plan; Arya receives a promise; the Night's Watch arrive at an ancient fortress.

I enjoy watching Arya's adventures. Even though she could not completely fool Lord Lannister, she was able to stay out of too much danger. Ah, I must admire men of honor who pay their debts. Arya will have revenge on those who wronged her friends after all.

I had hoped Theon would not betray Robb, but this is another example of blood is stronger than friendship and a son always wants the respect of his father.

The Ladies Brienne and Stark strike an alliance and I like the way the females in this series are very strong and important.

Daenerys did not realize her advisor was in love with her. I love the cute little dragons.

Game of Thrones : The Prince of Winterfell
S02, E08(First Aired: May 20, 2012)
Theon holds down the fort; Arya calls in a debt; Robb is betrayed; Dany ignores Jorah's advice; Stannis and Davos approach their destination.

I had a delightful three hours watching these episodes. I must say this is the first time I was disappointed in the actions of Jon Snow, but I am sure he will prove himself eventually.

Although Theon broke his oath to Robb, I believe his worst deeds are carried out because of the counsel he is receiving.

Wow, Arya has been very lucky and Jaquen H'agar is a good man to have in your debt.

Tyrion and Cersei might never get along but blood keeps them from killing each other.

Mother of Dragons is one of my favorites and I hope she can negotiate her way around in the House of the Undying. They/he are creepy.

S02, E10(First Aired: June 3, 2012)
Theon incites his men to action; Luwin offers advice; Brienne silences Jaime; Arya receives a gift; Dany goes to a strange place; Jon proves himself.

I enjoyed these episodes very much.

Tyrion was amazing in the way he took over leadership during the battle with Stannis’ fleet. I think his father was both surprised and jealous of Tyrion’s success. I believe Tyrion will rise above his present predicament. His father might have unwittingly placed Tyrion in a game of wits at which he excels.

Tywin Lannister does not deign to bow or kneel before any man. By riding the white horse into the throne room, he placed himself above everyone. As hand to the king, he will rule the kingdom. Joffrey will not dare to be insolent to his grandfather.

I expected different things from Jon Snow than what I have seen. I like him and I hope he does something brilliant.

I understand why Lady Catelin betrayed Robb’s trust, but I think it was a mistake. It did give me a chance to see “I’m not a lady” Brienne in action. I do believe Jaime will be more careful around her. Robb has done remarkably well and it will be difficult for him to get over betrayal by both his mother and Theon, a man he called friend and brother.

Theon received very bad counsel, but he went along with it hoping to gain his father’s respect. The events that took place at Winterfell were horrific and none of the Starks will forgive the Greyjoys. The best part was when Theon gave his “we will die today” speech. My grandson and I were watching it together and he wanted to know if Theon was crazy because he had only 20 men and they were under siege. It was a very nice speech which was ended by Theon’s man knocking him out cold. "Let's go home."

Mother of Dragons is my favorite. She is awesome! She is as single-minded as her brother, but she commands respect in spite of her youth. Her blood-of-my-blood first-in-command is loyal and I wish the best for him. Daenerys is no shrinking violet and did not blink when her baby set the wizard on fire; nor did she hesitate to lock traitors alive in an empty vault. That was outstanding

Sansa is the one person I cannot understand. She has been offered rescue and return to Winterfell, but she chose to stay in a land where those in power despise her. I remember she said she always wanted to live at Court and marry a king. However, she knows she will be abused and despised, and that is what baffles me.

Arya, my baby, has made a formidable friend.

Valar Morghulis is a name to remember.
