Patton Oswalt is a brilliant comedian, and with this episode he just made the step up to brilliant actor. Go, constable Bob!

I was so sleepy last night, I stopped right at the part where I saw Constable Bob's face was bruised. I remember thinking I wanted to be wide awake for the rest of the episode. I am wide awake now and if you say the Constable was that good, I should watch it right now. Justified, here I come!

Go for it, gal! You won't be disappointed. This episode takes us into territory we haven't seen before, while keeping true to all of the characters and taking them even further than we've seen before. Just might be my favorite episode this season.
And the last scene reminds me of Firefly.

This was an exciting episode and whoever wrote the dialog is a favorite on my list of writers. Constable Bob is one tough dude. I never thought he was inadequate in spite of the way people teased him about his appearance. But I did not realize how tough he really is and I'm sure he earned Raylan's respect. No one seems to know what a Constable is... YOLO asked if he was a crossing guard. Givens: Bob, don't shoot unless you have to. Bob: What constitutes "Have to?" Givens: You see you're going to die if you don't, pull the trigger. I like the references to Boyd's silver tongue because I have always admired the way he talks. He was still smooth after they kept punching him. Colton! You know I have always liked Colt, but he is an enigma. The scene between Ava and Mr. Constantine had me riveted because I was unsure how Ava would handle the insults like "extraordinary vacuuming skills" and "Where did he get [the ring] - in one of those claw machines at Denny's?" I thought he was dead when he insulted her ring. That was an excellent scene. And the revelation about Johnny's feelings shocked me. I loved everything about the episode; I am going to watch it again because I was sleepy during the first half.

Here's what I said to my cousin Cheryl as we were watching that scene in the bar. She knew nothing about the characters at all.
I told her, regarding Ava, "She's the smartest person in that room."

I was also thinking that she was smarter than Constantine and that he had no clue who he was dealing with. I enjoyed his comment that he could see why Johnny fell in love with her.
Your mentioning Firefly made me want to watch it again.
