Thanks, Anti. Hard to believe we're down to the last two episodes. There is so much to tie up, no pun intended! I wonder how much will be left for the next season to deal with. While cliffhangers have become the norm with all these programs, I hope that a few storyline reach some satisfactory conclusion. I wonder how long it will be before it returns?

Thank you, SoCal, I wanted to know the answer to that question, too, and this article reveals it: "The third season of the "The Walking Dead" has just two episodes left, and spoilers are already circulating about the next season. On Friday, March 22 Wetpaint reported that the zombies will become much more of a threat in season four, which will begin filming in Atlanta on May 6. The sixteen episode fourth season will begin airing on AMC in October. The walkers have always been a threat to the survivors, but the next season will show them as a major danger instead of being managed inside the prison gates or taken out easily. The main focus of season three was on the escalating tension between the prison survivors and the town of Woodbury, but season four will turn the focus back to the original problem." www.examiner.com/article/the-walking-dead-season-4-spoilers-more-zombies-and-character-developmentThose ideas sound great to me. It's just the long damn wait. But what would Halloween be without The Walking Dead, huh?

How can ONE episode make me feel bad/ and gain respect for Merle? This show is so brilliantly written. gah. And it was so true what he was saying about others always wanting him to do their dirty work to make them feel like the better person. I was so pissed with Rick in this episode. Ass. And next week he's all "you're a part of our family now" to michonne

Wow. What an episode.
I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to comment on it, though, as my bed is calling me right now.

This was the Merle episode. I had no idea what was going on with Merle when he was looking for drugs and alcohol. Daryl left no doubt that he still loved his brother. He tried to convince Glenn to forgive Merle and during his conversation with Merle, when he said “I just want my brother back”, he touched him affectionately. Aww. That made Merle uncomfortable; I don’t think Merle knows how to show or accept affection. Merle viewed Rick as too weak to stick to the plan to turn Michonne over. I became very agitated when Merle set off the car alarm after tying Michonne to a post, but she showed she can defend herself without the blade. Interesting discussion in the car showed that Merle never killed a human until he joined the governor’s team. LESSON LEARNED: When being held captive by a racist killer, just talk him to death, and he will kick you out of the car. I like the way Merle used the same ploy that Glenn did to get the walkers to follow him to Woodbury’s camp. That was an awesome scene. Merle redeemed himself by letting Michonne go and attacking Woodbury so he deserved a heroic death. The governor bit off Merle’s fingers and violated his own code by shooting Merle in the chest and letting him turn into a walker. Daryl’s heart was broken when he saw his brother. That was a truly tragic scene. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Glenn cut the fingers off of a walker to get an engagement ring for Maggie. He properly asked Hershel for his blessings on a wedding, and Maggie said “yes”. I’m glad she did not ask where he got the ring. After seeing Lori in regular clothes, Rick announced to the group there will be no more Ricktatorship and they will vote on decisions. He also confessed that the Governor had offered them a deal. Boo hoo, after all the trouble he caused. How can ONE episode make me feel bad/ and gain respect for Merle? This show is so brilliantly written. gah. And it was so true what he was saying about others always wanting them to do their dirty work to make them feel like the better person. I was so pissed with Rick in this episode. Ass. And next week he's all "you're a part of our family now" to michonne I agree with everything you said.

Terrific episode. As much as I have always hated Merle, wow, did he ever redeem himself. His little brother and Michonne were finally able to talk some sense into him. Good for Michonne for being so even-keeled and talking Merle out of his initial intentions. I do think it could have gone the way Merle had originally intended.....turning Michonne over to the governor and hoping he would be let back in. But I think Merle's interactions with his little brother, Herschel and finally, Michonne made him come to his senses. Too bad he wasn't able to kill the governor. It was heartbreaking to see Daryl discover his big brother had become the thing he feared most. And it was devestating watching him having to destroy Merle. But Merle has really redeemed himself. Glad Rick has given up the "Ricktatorship." It took him long enough. See he's still seeing Lori, but at least he's able to control those thoughts, somewhat. Glenn asking for Maggie's hand formally from Herschel was a nice light part to the episode. I hope Glenn thoroughly washed that ring, though. Guess Andrea is cooling her heels in the governor's torture chair. I hope next week's season ender doesn't leave us with a s---load of hanging threads. A couple will be okay, but I hope we're not left with a bucket load to have to think about all through the spring, summer and beginning of fall!

We believe in Merle's redemptive move, but requiring Rick to see Ghost-Mama to have a change of heart was a little too much to swallow. All it takes to dissolve the Ricktatorship is thinking he sees Lori ? I could have believed maybe one or the other of the guys doing this in the same espisode, but both making a play at redemption in the same episode is quite a stretch. And did you see the scene where Merle is packing up Rick's disconnected phone (from the comics)? What's going on there? No one has used that phone, so why was he taking it? Was this a dropped story line?

Was this a dropped story line? Yeah I didn't understand the meaning behind Merle picking up the phone. As for the Ghost-Lori scenes... at least Sarah Wayne Callies is profiting off of them I don't think I can quite ever look at Rick the same again after this episode. I mean, I understand that he wants to protect his family, and I understand him considering giving Michonne up.. but to go behind the groups back and go to Merle to do the dirty work for him... Especially when in his heart of hearts he knew that even if he gave up Michonne, the governor was still going to come after them all and kill them.

I thought the only reason Merle picked up the phone was for the cord that he would use to ties up Michonne.

I've come to the conclusion that that has to be what was going on there.
The fact that Merle used a disconnected phone like Rick carries around in the comics was perhaps just a little twist they threw in for those who've followed the story in the books.
