We're getting close to the end of this series. How's it all going to come out?

I'm going to be very upset if Joe kills our boy - no, not that one - I mean Mike Weston.

I'm going to be very upset if Joe kills our boy - no, not that one - I mean Mike Weston. I have only 3 things to say about last night's episode: EXCITING AS ALWAYS! Do these FBI guys absolutely NEVER call for back-up before they get into trouble? Thank the TV gods that bastard Joe didn't kill our Mikey last night. I was convinced that was going to happen. I've never been so happy to be wrong!

Yes, thank the TV gods that Mikey didn't get killed. When Carroll uttered his oft repeated philosophy that it is through death that we both shall live, I thought that was the moment he would snap Mike's neck. I was anticipating it so strongly that I felt a little puzzled when nothing happened. But I am glad it turned out that way. That near-death experience did not make Mike more spiritual. He seemed bent on revenge against any Carroll follower he ran into. I enjoyed his quick-hand movement to snatch the address before Ryan could get it. Then when Ryan asked his hypocritical question "Hey, what're you doing? That's breaking and entering.", Mike told him that was Ryan Hardy approved. We knew Jacob had to have something wrong with him to become a follower and the incident at and following the farmhouse seems to have triggered it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Maybe he will serve Emma some payback. Claire v Emma. When Joe drops his mister charming facade, he is mean and disrespectful. He is losing control and the way he disrespected Roderick in front of other followers was unnecessary and downright ugly. Claire hit him where it hurts when she criticized his writing skills and she almost received a smack down. Ryan's back story was a surprise to me. Random thoughts: Although it was fun to convert to "Castianity", I will not consider converting to "Carroll-ism". If Claire was being held captive at the Revolution rebels' camp, she could have waltzed right out of the front door like Neville did.

Anti -- what did you think of Jacob's tearful phone call to his father? I she going to break?
And yes, Ryan's backstory was facinating. How awful to watch your father lie in a pool of his own blood and die. And when we see it is Ryan who gives the murderer the fianl dose of drugs that kills him, I was thinking, this is a guy who could just as easily be a follower of Joe Carroll instead of a law enforcement officer.
I still don't get the neighbor. So, she's a nurse? Wouldn't they have done a background check on her. Hasn't the FBU viewed all the video of everyone who visited Joe Carroll while he was in prison. She would be on those tapes.
That would be a slip-up too great for me. Ryan is so careful. I just can't believe he would let someone get that close to him (that she has a key to his apartment), with him giving her a "cavity search."

I am so happy you told me about this show and that we are both watching it. It's the type of show that is fun to chat about. Anti -- what did you think of Jacob's tearful phone call to his father? I she going to break? I think Jacob is on the verge of breaking. He has been reminded twice recently that he is a golden boy who came from a golden family. Memories of happier days probably rushed back and brought regret with them. I wonder if his tears will soften his father's anger toward him. If Jacob does break, I cannot guess in what form the break will take. And yes, Ryan's backstory was fascinating. How awful to watch your father lie in a pool of his own blood and die. And when we see it is Ryan who gives the murderer the final dose of drugs that kills him, I was thinking, this is a guy who could just as easily be a follower of Joe Carroll instead of a law enforcement officer.Joe Carroll compared Ryan to himself and he must detect that darkness in Ryan. What Ryan did at the age of 17 was unnatural. Shooting the perpetrator in a rage would be normal, but to patiently make the man administer enough drugs to kill himself showed a very dark side. In my opinion, the way Ryan has handled the investigation makes him appear to have no regard for the lives of anyone except the woman he is in lust love with. Remember the officer who was killed at the farmhouse and his buddy who was left bleeding out on the floor? I still don't get the neighbor. So, she's a nurse? Wouldn't they have done a background check on her. Hasn't the FBU viewed all the video of everyone who visited Joe Carroll while he was in prison. She would be on those tapes.Yes, she is a "mercy killer" nurse who is happy to do Joe a favor. She keeps telling Ryan to not get himself killed because she wants to personally kill him. He must be a terrible lover. Even if it did not occur to anyone to investigate Molly when they met, the FBI or the U.S. Marshall service should have asked Ryan who has entered his life in the past eight years. I bet Ryan never thought to mention Molly or give them a photo of her. The only excuse I can give for Ryan is that the investigation has not been focused close to his home state and that is why he never thinks to mention Molly. That would be a slip-up too great for me. Ryan is so careful. I just can't believe he would let someone get that close to him (that she has a key to his apartment), with him giving her a "cavity search."I agree. What more can I say?

I can't remember....has this show been renewed for a 2nd season? I hope so. While creepy, I find myself facinated by the story/characters.
Of course, who knows if they can write a second season as good as the first. Even "24" had a couple of silly seasons.
I'm hoping it has been renewed so we can see some more of Ryan Hardy and Mike Weston in action.

Of course, who knows if they can write a second season as good as the first. Even "24" had a couple of silly seasons. I'm hoping it has been renewed so we can see some more of Ryan Hardy and Mike Weston in action. "Kevin Williamson's controversial serial killer drama, "The Following," starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, has been renewed for Season 2 -- no surprise, seeing as it's the only bona fide midseason hit from any of the major networks. "From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding," says Kevin Reilly, FOX's Chairman of Entertainment. "Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I'm delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season." credit Zap2It
Apparently Joe Carroll is as popular as Ryan Hardy with the fans. I think Joe has some real life Followers. I guess in S2, Joe could play a Hannibal type role as a consultant and the FBI could try to round up either his followers or other psychos who have followers.

I like the way you think, Anti! Joe Carroll in a dungeon of a cell whom the FBI will sometimes consult regarding various cases. Please don't let him escape as easily next time. I do hope they wrap up this particular storyline, though, but it's been good enough and intriguing enough to stretch into another season. I suppose the "Carroll groupies" wouldn't be happy if their "hero" was locked up and just trading barbs with Ryan. At least we can know from this that the crazy nurse doesn't kill Ryan....at least not in season 1!
