Evan sacrificing himself...getting shot so Cat would be safe.
TOTALLY did not see that coming.
And then texting a confession that he was working with the creature all along as he felt the creature was heroic and so he was the leak in the department...
AGAIN saving Cat by removing her from further scrutiny.
This was...unexpected.
I thought they would continue to make use of the character of Evan.
So...
Cat's partner is now in on everything and helping out...I WAS waiting for that!
Vincent and JT are homeless...
I always remember JT's moniker because a "friend" in university bedded my then-fiance while I was away...and this "friend's" name was TJ.
Her name was "the girl formerly known as my fiance".
I like JT on Beauty and the Beast....though.
*grins*
But I digress.
I liked this whole episode...it was not cliche. It was suprising.
I was involved.

I like Evan very much and I am sad to see him go. His send-off is one of the best heroic deaths I have seen recently. In addition to sacrificing himself to give Cat additional time to escape, he fought valiantly to release Vincent from the cage. I am glad he made it clear that the reason he treated Vincent like an animal rather than human was that he never realized Vincent was a human being. He thought Vincent was a creature who was created by Muirfield. It seemed – just for a moment – that Vincent and Catherine were going to return to the angst and drama that we suffered through when they thought it was best to go their separate ways, but we dodged that bullet and they will work it out. JT is a diverse and delightful character and I hope he gets a girlfriend so he can crash at her place. He deserves a break. (Darwin, you are a good fan of the show as each time you see JT, or they refer to him, it must remind you of your disappointment.  ) I keep waiting for A.D.A. Gabe Lowman to either catch a bullet or to get caught doing something illegal. He has a vested interest in catching Vincent that seems to go beyond the justice system. I thought he wanted Vincent because he was in league with Muirfield, but now I think it might be personal in light of the health issues he demonstrated. (O/T: I probably expect him to die because Sendhil Ramamurthy meets an unhappy fate each time I see him.) |

I had to laugh at your comment about Sendhil Ramamurthy... because everytime I see Maura Tierney I expect that she is already in or about to be in a bad relationship! And...speaking of... I have long ago healed from that particular disappointment... (and had several other disappointments since...) *grins* ...but...they will always be disappointments until one can finally find and mutually claim and be claimed by one's soul-mate, the one wonderful one...the true love of one's life. As I mentioned previously... ...I am a "hopeful" romantic! And yes, I groaned...audibly...when Cat started talking about perhaps they should go their separate ways...because like you, I feared that "Vincent and Catherine were going to return to the angst and drama that we suffered through"... Yes...that is QUITE enough of that. And yes, Evan gets FULL heroic marks! VERY heroic send-off for his character... ...although I did not quite get his logic when he was thinking that Vincent was a "created" animal... ...he saw Vincent kissing Cat... ...don't think he could have confused Vincent for a lap dog... THAT was his one and only bias towards Vincent...that Cat loved him and not Evan. I mean...Vincent is not exactly "Elephant Man"...so he should not have to do the whole "I AM NOT AN ANIMAL!!!! I AM A HUMAN BEING"...speech. It seemed...thin. And JT is indeed a "diverse and delightful character" as you said... and I bear him no ill will... ...nor do I bear ill will for my old "friend" TJ... ...or even my ex-fiance. Where-ever each of them are I only hope happiness and success for them. |
