I wonder what Laurel meant when she said to Oliver "I am finally seeing you for who you really are."

It was cruel and heartless that Dark Arrow eliminated the people at Unidac, but not shocking.
But, oh my goodness! I am popping in to say I was caught completely off guard that Oliver and Moira were taken.
Back to the show.

THAT while episode was ALOT to take in!!!!
Where to begin?
Felicity asks Oliver: Are you okay?
Oliver: y Mom and my best friends dad are involved in a conspiracy that may have dire consequences for this city … And I’m PRETTY sure they murdered my father…I’m not planning on using the word “okay” again anytime soon.
Then...
Oliver: I gotta ask her…
Felcity: Whoa .No. The last time the vigilante paid your Mom a visit you got shot and I got to play doctor with you. (pause) Uhhh! My brain thinks of the worst way to say things!
(Her slip is showing again)
Laurel shows up at the club finally ready to admit that she had feelings for Oliver…sincere and OH so vulnerable… and Oliver blows her off.
Heartbreaking!!!!
Island flashback.
Fires(sp) to shoot down passenger jet...STAKES are VERY high on the island right now!
Laurel's dad: Psycopaths are color-coding themselves now…that’s helpful…(black arrow...green arrow)
Funny.
I was SO shocked when Oliver and mom get kidnapped!!!!
At FIRST I thought the Dark Archer was dressed as Oliver as Arrow...then no...it was Diggles...then it all made sense...gets information from Moira.
Meanwhile...back on the Island…they plan to blow up a plane… to destabalize China's economy. For his employer…
Only...girl's dad won’t do take the blame…then Fires shoots his friend and daughter only wounding them…
And they get it from Moira that Merlin has a device to make an earthquake...
And then Felicity sees Oliver's face and she yells at Diggles! "You said you were going to pull your punches!!!"
Diggles: I did.
Felicity to Oliver: Let me get you an ice pack…for… ...everything…
Back at the island...girl's da agrees to take blame...BUT he Passes oliver a knife. Fires calls boss…who is a woman.
Then it cuts to Moira…
INTERESTING juxtaposition...yes?
Laurel's Dad approves of Oliver!!!!…Sort of…"Since Queens been back he’s different…" and Laurel smiles because Oliver insisted that he was not diffrent.
Then breaking into Merlins data...
Oliver in the elevator shaft: Okay Felicity…hold onto me tight…
Felicity: I imagined you saying that under different circumstances…(pause) very platonic circumstances.
(And her slip is showing again)
Then it was also funny..."This is my…about to hack face…"
Which also looks like her about to hurl face...
Meeting with Tommy……and Tommy asks "talk about me leaving the club or you being a serial killer…?"
Nasty
Oliver:You are still in love with Laurel…Laurel makes her own decisions…she chose you until you couldn’t handle it. I am gilty of a lot of things but not you and her.
LOVED that!
I thought it was cool that Oliver's sister defended him...but was not anticipating her and Roy breaking up...
KIND of anticipated Moira and Walter seperating...the divorce thing was much more and sooner than I would have expected.
Cops find out about Felcity hacking...Wow.
Did not see that!
Oliver decides stopping Merlin and the undertaking is the only thing he has to do…thenhang up the hood…
Goes to Laurel. Declares his love..Laurel means the most to him…hope he did not wait too long…
Laurel says didn’t wait too long…it was just the right time..
*smiles*
Tommy sees through window.
Does not bode well.
A downturn on a rather hoped for moment I must say.
Tommy is a killjoy.
Back st the island...Yafy(sp) made statement taking responsibility for shooting down ariplane…
Gets shot…killed…plane is within range…oliver must act…
..alone...
...everyone else is wounded or dead.
Then Oliver's fight with Merlin....
...was...
...odd.
Merlin...does not look like that good of a fighter...
...and the choreography...looked more...
...overpowering than skilled...
...but Merlin should not really be so much stronger than Oliver...as he is a lot older.
was...
...odd.
Especially after last week and all of the guys Oliver skillfully and powerfully went through....first at casino and then rescuing Walter.
And Merlin said...Oh no...when he saw it was Oliver...
All in all...a lot to absorb.

There is a lot to absorb.
I really did think the Dark Archer had attacked them. Whew! Diggle did a nice job as the hood. He also did a good job in helping Felicity to escape from the Merlyn building.
Are we to absolve Moira of blame because her husband dragged her into the mess? Is that the direction this is headed?
I am too easily entertained – hysterical laughter followed when Oliver flicked the flirtatious man’s papers so he could not ride in the elevator with Felicity.
Oliver and Felicity are great together and Felicity is much more adventurous and brave than I would have expected. I can enjoy them because there is no danger of anything more than friendship.
The events on the island were tragic. Divorce papers from Walter were not.
When Oliver finally acknowledged his feelings for Laurel, “Radioactive” was the appropriate song for both their passion and for Tommy’s reaction when he saw them in the window.
I thought that was a good battle between Arrow and Mr. Merlyn, especially the ability to catch the arrow in flight. As I feared, the Dark Archer is stronger than Arrow just as he was before. I thought Merlyn knew Oliver was Arrow; apparently, neither archer had determined the identity of the other.
P.S. I enjoyed the executive producers chatting during the breaks. Nice personal way to advertise a product.

Nice personal way to advertise a product. I laughed out loud at this as well...ESPECIALLY since the guy was going to be getting off the elevator BEFORE them!!!! Not AS much reason to ditch him, as he would not have been around to interfere with their plan...so...perhaps shallow horny guys annoy Oliver as much as they annoy me!!!!! This is a little of what I was referring to in my comment:Fires calls boss…who is a woman. Then it cuts to Moira… INTERESTING juxtaposition...yes? Have we been "led down the garden path" as to Moira's "involuntary" participation? Has she got some agenda going of her own that is now being hinted at? Why did they not show the woman who was Fires(sp) boss? If we did not know her already...meaning...if she was not recognizable...then one would think they would have shown her. Curious... Yes...the divorce papers were not tragic...Walter needs some kind of justice... Good catch on the song...."Radioactive" as it applied to the passion and Tommy's reaction. I have always wanted a great soundtrack for my life...like an old movie musical...romantic moment...cue the appropriate song. I shall work on getting the moments...THEN add the soundtrack. Merlyn (thanks for the correct spelling) still seems to me to be too much of a stretch for him to be such an overwhelming opponent for Oliver... I mean we see Oliver training all of the time...AND take out some VERY skilled fighters, assassins...but we have only seen Merlyn do some fencing...and we are just supposed to take it on face value that he is SO much better than Oliver because the script says so. And I too enjoyed the discussion with the producers during the breaks! Someone deserves a raise for coming up with that idea!

I am enjoying your reviews of the episodes and you often make note of events that I did not focus on.
I thought your inference that the female employer might be Moira was extremely interesting but I failed to mention that I wanted to watch that scene again. During the first watch, my knee-jerk reaction was that destroying China's stock was a political move and I wondered what woman in government would have that power.
I have now re-watched the scene and the image of the woman's legs certainly could be Moira. You make an excellent point that the reason the woman's face was not shown is that it is probably someone we would recognize.
Now, I am so very curious to see if it is Moira. I think the villains know who Oliver is, but it is possible they would not mention that to their boss. It also seems to me that the Dark Archer was on that island at the same time as Oliver, but maybe he did not see Oliver.
I accepted the Dark Archer's ability because I thought he was the formidable fighter on the island; otherwise, it would be questionable that he could defeat Arrow so easily.
I am sure there is more to discuss about this episode, but my family just showed up.

The video clips of the encounters that we are discussing. While viewing the first one, I realized it is clear the Dark Archer did not see Arrow's face. I have had the wrong impression for a while.
1st encounter Arrow v Dark Archer
2nd encounter

Thank-you I am officially putting THIS on my resume! I must say that I enjoy your reviews immensely...so articulate and insightful.
*laughing* You have made my lack of focus sound like a GOOD thing! (I'll put that on my resume too)
I must confess...I AM good at looking at women's legs....that may be my one advantage over you in this circumstance...(but I probably SHOULDN'T put THAT on my resume)
Now THIS is something that I had not thought of until you mentioned it...Merlyn made reference to being on...what I felt was the same island...after his wife died...but who is to say that he did not go back...for business/further training while Oliver was there?
Perhaps Oliver had a full beard...maybe Fyers was dead...and no one else used Oliver's name...so maybe THAT could explain why Merlyn did not know him...
You have AGAIN given me something to think about!
You got a visit from your family! Family is so VERY important! It is SO very cool! And wonderful! ...that you get to spend time with yours.
And thank-you so very much for searching out those clips for my clarity...I think I need to spend more time on youtube myself!
It will help me to pass the time while I await your further insights...

Do you see emoticons? If not, I will substitute words for them. At the very least, the recruiter would arrange to meet you so she could see who submitted such an unusual resume. I was very happy to share them with you and you are very welcome. However, I trusted your memory more so than my own so I researched them for personal clarity. While you have an excellent memory for detail, I have a more convenient memory. I tend to recall incidents the way I WANT them to be. *snickers* I had a nice visit with family. I dropped a casual hint a year ago that they do not visit me, so the guilt trip worked. It is important for family to keep in touch although they have busy lives.

I dropped a casual hint a year ago that they do not visit me, so the guilt trip worked. It is important for family to keep in touch although they have busy lives. I see a laughing emoticon! So if that is all of them...then I guess all systems are go! *thumbs up* *thinks about episodes of THE MENTALIST I have watched* In reference to the recruiter you inferred "she" would arrange to meet with me..."so she could see who submitted such an unusual resume." So either the recruiter at your place of business is a "she"; or you are used to dealing with female recruiters; or perhaps you yourself are now working or have worked in the capacity of a recruiter. *laughs* How's that for covering all of the bases? AS you remember things the way you want...please remember this exchange as being more witty and urbane than I have presented it. I always like it when there are minutes taken...or if a meeting or an interview has a transcript. I always come off as more handsome in a transcript. ....That's the way I remember it. My family has always been and always will be SUPER close....which is so cool. When my older sister got married...I was...13...and she and her husband bought a house three doors down. So my nephews were always over since they were little...always checked out who was having what for dinner (what did Mom make and what did Grandma make) and picked the best spot...and my brother and I got to hang with them. We still all go camping together in summers...lots of family picnics, and any excuse for a family dinner year round. We have each other's backs...when in college...I was driving back with my then fiance (different from others mentioned) and having JUST had the oil changed at an oil change place (I usually do it myself) I discovered that either the oil pan bolt or the oil filter was NOT tightened. I discovered this when a rod shot through the engine, exploded through the oil pan and hit the interstate we were driving on. Near the top of a mountain road...I pushed while she steered to the top...and then we coasted all the way down into a small town. I could not deal with this on my own...and even though we were over a thousand miles from home...my Dad and my brother DROVE to our rescue. My Mom looks after everybody...checking on health, adequate food...checking for stress...making sure everybody is happy...and my Dad once...without a weapon...stepped between me and bear... when I was 5 or 6. I always treasure family.

With all due respect to your mentalist abilities, I used "she" to appease the feminists who might be and probably are following this conversation. (No offense - I do admire both you and Patrick Jane.) *puzzled look, followed by giggles and laughter* At first, I thought you were making a serious statement. You make me laugh no matter what the topic. Comments like "more handsome in a transcript" makes me wonder if you ever wanted to be a stand-up comic. I think you could do that. Your family is awesome! The closeness and the willingness to help and protect each other make all of you special. It's wonderful that you acknowledge the gift of love. My family is unusually small. I have one sister who is a recluse, no cousins, aunts or uncles. I have one daughter who has two sons. She lives only 14 minutes away so we see each other several times a week. That is all of the blood relatives. I would always visit my daughter, which is why I dropped a hint that they never visit me. Now, they drop in regularly.

Wait!
I'm being followed by feminists?
COOL!
I have to point out that with MY mentalist abilitites... it is most often the option I LEAVE OUT which is the correct one...
...So I can use my skills as a kind of "reverse barometer"...
Stand-up comic?
Hmmm.
Perhaps something ELSE to add to my resume!
*thinks*
How many times do I have to make you laugh to qualify?
And yes, no arguments...my family IS awesome...
Yours sounds pretty awesome as well!
AND...
...one of the benefits of a small family SHOULD be...
(wait for it)
...left over dessert!

I found this write-up about THIS episode:
TV Chatter: Week of May 5-11
May 9, 2013 8:30 AM | By Kim Linekin
I would have to DISAGREE about the lack of chemistry between Oliver and Laurel...it did not look awkward OR abrupt...
EVEN with the arranged staging so Tommy could see in the window.

Oliver and Laura definitely have chemistry.
I am looking forward to the finale.

While viewing the recent video clips where the producers are responding to fans' questions, I realize Dr. Brion Markov as Geo-Force was supposed to have super powers.
We never saw him do anything at all because he was neutralized very quickly. I wonder how the comic book fans feel about that.
