A Sad Day for All Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror Fans. Ray Harryhausen is dead at 92.
Influenced by the original King Kong movie, Harryhausen first studied under the animator, then went on to produce the most amazing stop-animation movie footage ever seen at that time:
Almost every single sci-fi, fantasy, and horror director, writer, makeup, and special effects artist was inluenced by him.

My God, I LOVE this scene!!! Kali dancing is just beautiful...amazing. (The actor playing Koura is Tom Baker, best known as the 5th Doctor on Doctor Who) Talos scared the HELL out of me when I was younger.  |
