Who was that blonde lady? I would have to say that the blonde lady is THE BLACK CANARY!!!! In the comics...Dinah Laurel Lance...daughter of Detective Larry Lance and Dinah Drake Lance is THE BLACK CANARY. Okay... ...so... ...if I read this Comic Con trailer correctly... ...apparently...after Tommy dies and Oliver's mother is arrested...Oliver leaves Starling City for awhile...then returns... but has to be persuaded by Felicity to become the vigilante again, and this seems to have the enthusiastic support of Detective Lance...who appears to have been...demoted? And Summer Glau is becoming a cast member!!!!! OFFICIALLY excited for season 2 !!!!!!!!

Summer Glau was magnificent in Firefly and I am excited to see her in Arrow. Poor Detective Officer Lance. He did what he thought was right and then he was demoted. I like Oliver's significant stare at the arrow when he was asked what he wanted to be called. I did grasp the significance of that. *laughs*

Heroes assemble for Arrow season 2
After it’s explosive finale last time out Arrow’s sophomore season was already shaping up to be something worth getting exciting about, and that’s even before studio execs started to tease what we can expect when the Vancouver-shot show returns in October.
Those teases had so far centred on relatively low rent reveals about new villains, hardware and character motivations; that was until The CW dropped the weapons grade revelation that Barry Allen aka The Flash will be joining Olly Queen for Arrow season 2. The news came during a presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles where it was revealed that Allen would appear in three episodes of the upcoming season giving the character an origin story that could potentially lead to a spinoff series.
For those not in the know The Flash is a DC Comic Book character known as the fastest man alive. First introduced back in 1940 the Scarlett Speedster is known for his super speed and his quick-witted quips that have made him one of the fan favourite members of DC’s Justice League. During the course of his comic book history the Flash mantle has been taken on by four different heroes but Barry Allen, who’ll make his appearance in Arrow’s sophomore season, is widely considered to be the most popular speedster to have graced the comic book universe.
Speaking to the assembled press during a telephone conference call on Wednesday producers Geoff Johns and Andrew Kreisberg suggested that the characters origins would remain true to the comics.
“When we first meet Barry Allen, he's just a forensic scientist working for the Central City police department.” Kreisberg revealed; although he did suggest that the show will put it’s own spin on the character. “… as we always do on 'Arrow,' we like to keep things as grounded and realistic as possible, and that is the way the audience will be introduced to Barry and get to know him before his life gets a little bit faster.”
It’s exciting news for the show, but something of a double-edged sword for Arrow’s army of fans. Part of what has made the show so successful is it’s laser like focus on Oliver Queen’s Green Arrow, and by delving deeper into the DC universe it runs the risk of losing that edge. However the producers have long said that the sophomore season would be a sequel of sorts, and so if we take the character’s opening outing as an origin story of sorts then we can expect season 2 to see the vigilante transform into the hero that comic book fans know and love.
From a studio perspective it also makes a lot of sense. After all not every comic book character works on the silver screen, a point proved emphatically by Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern. But if they are going to forge ahead with plans to bring the Justice League to the silver screen then why not cross pollenate the JLA roster with characters plucked from a multitude of platforms? That means they can set up the big hitters like Batman and Superman on the silver screen before teaming them up with small screen stars like Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow and the yet-to-be-cast Scarlett Speedster. It would certainly save time and money, something Warner Bros. and DC are particularly short of as they try to catch up with a rival studio who are lightyears ahead of them.
It’s an approach that also enables the studio to play to the characters’ strengths. Much as I love the comics I think it would be hard to argue the case for a Green Arrow movie; but as Arrow has proved it’s certainly got legs on the small screen. I think the same is true for The Flash who, like Oliver Queen’s archer isn’t an intergalactic alien an amazonian warrior or an intergalactic police officer. Instead he’s altogether more human, an accidental hero whose everyman appeal and light-hearted tone lend him more to the television schedules than the dark brooding world of superhero blockbusters.
Of course we’ll have to wait to see how it plays out, but for now we’re certainly excited. If nothing more it looks like it means that Canada is going to be playing an increasingly prominent role in the comic book bubble that’s dominating the entertainment industry, and that can only be a good thing.

SOOO looking forward to Season 2!
I have been amazed at the whole scope of things...and the little things that change things in a big way!
Like the character of Felicity who was only supposed to be in one show and because Stephan liked her and raved to the producers about her and the fans loved her...now she is a series regular for season 2!!!!!
And...
...we have "Olicity" ...*laughs*
Love it!

It is so good to know they listen to the fans. I am glad Olicity will be around. *laughs*
I am laughing at the people who did not give this show a chance. They have really missed out on some great characters and great action.
Enjoy!

I am watching the one-hour recap of season 1 titled "Year One".
It gives an excellent portrait of all the characters and shows great action scenes from season 1.
I am so glad they did this.
