Genre: Drama
Premise: Mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher Walter White thinks his life can't get much worse. His salary barely makes ends meet, a situation not likely to improve once his pregnant wife gives birth, and their teenage son is battling cerebral palsy. But Walter is dumbstruck when he learns he has terminal cancer. Realizing that his illness probably will ruin his family financially, Walter makes a desperate bid to earn as much money as he can in the time he has left by turning an old RV into a meth lab on wheels.
The return of "Breaking Bad" scored series-record ratings for AMC Sunday night (Aug. 11), drawing the show's biggest audience ever -- and more than doubling its previous high.
Yes, doubling. A whole lot of people must have caught up with the series since the first half of Season 5 ended, because the show has never even come close to this big an overnight rating. Sunday's episode drew 5.9 million viewers; its previous high, for the fifth-season premiere in July 2012, was 2.9 million viewers.
"Breaking Bad" also drew 3.6 million people in the adults 18-49 demographic, making it the top show of the night in that measure, broadcast or cable.
• Bryan Cranston as Walter White • Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman • Anna Gunn as Skyler White • RJ Mitte as Walter White Jr. • Dean Norris as Hank Schrader • Betsy Brandt as Marie Schrader • Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman • Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring • Jonathan Banks as Mike

I watched the pilot of this show and was shocked by the premise for the series. I did not watch any more episodes.
I have decided to watch the final episodes because I am very interested in how the show will treat Walter White, his wife Skyler, his brother-in-law Hank, and Jesse, the moral compass.
Walter White is the ultimate anti-hero. Some people (Samuel L Jackson, for one) want him to achieve his goals and end it on his own terms.
He has been so very bad that I think Jesse will end up killing him.
This is like a roller coaster ride on a broken track, both thrilling and scary.
