Just saw this on the Spoiler.TV website: CBS CORPORATION AND TIME WARNER CABLE REACH CONTENT CARRIAGE AGREEMENT Deal Includes Retransmission Consent for CBS Owned Stations and Carriage of Showtime, CBS Sports Network and Smithsonian Channel Programming to Resume by 6 PM, ET Today NEW YORK- September 2, 2013 - CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS) and Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks have reached an agreement for carriage of CBS owned stations on Time Warner Cable systems across the country, as well as Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network and Smithsonian Channel, it was announced today by representatives for the companies. Programming on all networks will resume at 6:00 PM, ET today. Though specific terms of the deal are not being disclosed, the agreement includes retransmission consent, as well as Showtime Anytime and VOD, for CBS stations on Time Warner Cable systems in New York (WCBS and WLYW), Los Angeles (KCBS and KCAL) and Dallas (KTVT and KTXA.) I do not think it is a coincidence that the agreement was reached so close to the beginning of the NFL regular season games.
Failure would have been an enormous blow to the network.

I read and heard they lost 100,000 costumers in a month time.

I read and heard they lost 100,000 costumers in a month time. No wonder they increased my monthly cable bill. I think they're both managed by jerks. And I HATE the TWC commercials that always end with, "Thank you for choosing Time Warner Cable." Like I have a choice? It's either TWC or a sattelite. We should be able to choose among all of the cable services. Why does TWC get a monopoly on certain sections of the area. Just like other cable companies get monopolies in other parts of the state and throughout the country. The federal government broke up Ma Bell in the 1970's and a million new phone companies popped up. Guess only great phone service deserves to be broken up. Lousy cable providers get to keep all the competition out of the market.
