Adding a copy of Kimba's post here since she talked about both episodes. I just got done watching both episodes and i really like it. They seem to be doing a great job w/the mythology aspect of it and can be predictable most of the time but i'm going to keep watching. I'm just a tad worried about where they are going to go once all the horseman are brought in... I am enjoying the show. I like the way humor is incorporated into the episodes. When they mention something that reminds me of SPN, my ears perk up. For example, "Abaddon" has a different take on it but she would have been tough if she had stayed around awhile. I am accustomed to the Four Horsemen being "War, Famine, Pestilence and Death". This show described them as "Conquest, War, Famine and Death". I am glad they did not kill the little boy. I thought he was in trouble after the resurrected cop talked to him. There were two funny scenes that I really enjoyed... Regarding $4.95 + 41 cents tax for a meal - Ichabod: Why is the public not flocking to the streets in outrage? We must do something! After Ichabod kept telling the sheriff to keep her head down, the torch fizzled before it could ignite the black powder. Kimba is right that some of it is predictable, but I still enjoy it.

I also liked the humor with..."Your gun! Why did you throw away your gun?" "It was empty." "But you only fired one shot!" "There was more?" I felt sorry for him stuck in his motel room and all that was on TV was a bad remake of a planet of the apes movie! What a horrible introduction to TV culture! I also liked the exchange between Ichabod and Abbie's ex boyfriend...*laughs* a verbal sortie and Ichabod did not back down. I was happy to see the sheriff visit Abby much like Ichabod's wife visits him... And I am excited that Abbie's sister will become involved as per Abbie's direction from the sheriff. She needs to be free to kick butt.

Also when the sheriff was explaining to point and shoot the gun, Ichabod gave her a "look" and said he remembered how to use a gun. I am so glad you mentioned the sister. She is keeping herself in shape so that she can kick that demon's butt. It must be so frustrating that she can see the demon in the mirror and no one believes her. It seems Abbie is not close to her sister, but I hope they join up to fight.

Yes...it seems Ichabod and Abbie can use all of the quality help they can get!
And mending the fences between the sisters SHOULD be a priority...as it is the bad guys keeping them apart.
Oh!
And I also love that Ichabod speaks several languages AND has a photographic memory!
WAY cool!

That is cool. And he is so cool in the way he mentions it.

The humor breaks in between the action is nice. I'd like to see more of Ichabod figuring out this new time. I also like how there were sticky notes everywhere like how to work the coffeepot. I wondered if maybe they're going to pin the sisters against each other? I sure hope not but there has to be a reason that she's seeing demons.

I will go back and look at them again. It will add more drama and angst if the sisters are against each other, but I prefer them to work together. Ichabod made me laugh when he was caught poking at the fluorescent light fixture. He tried to pretend he was not doing anything strange.

I like to look at Ichabod as a guy...who...like a child...is discovering things for the first time...
...except he has a photographic memory and an renaissance education to fuel his curiosity AND to facilitate his understanding.
THus, when he does stuff like poke at a light fixture...I tend not to think of it as strange as that is what I would expect him to do.
*laughs* I would think it strange if he didn't!

I enjoy his learning process also. He has been cautioned to stop telling people he is from the past so he will continue to receive strange glances. Then, he looks like a kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I am re-watching the scene in the hotel where he followed the instructions on the sticky notes. That is a very cute scene.

I am glad they did not kill the little boy. I thought he was in trouble after the resurrected cop talked to him. Especially since his name was Kyle. Sometimes it seems that every show a like has a Kyle in it. So my name was a good choice. Even though it originally referred to a show that was cancelled years ago. I still like the comedy but this witchcraft stuff really bothers me. And how could they do that to a perfectly good Sinatra song? The police station still looks the same, even though they changed what city they film in.

So now we have another Carrie Wells? He would naturally have forgotten 250 years. He was frozen!

I only used it in my post because I had to think about how to spell "Eidetic"...So now we have another Carrie Wells? There are some 33 characters in television who are said to have an Eidetic memory...Doogie Howser for example...Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds...several from the variety of Star Trek series...Spock...Kes...Seven of Nine...and even Will Crusher...along with Dr. Shledon Cooper, and even Fox Mulder. And one of the lawyers in SUITS.He would naturally have forgotten 250 years. He was frozen! Quite so. But Ichabod was being sarcastic when he made that snarky comment.

And I believe Ichabod "assumed"...in the moment...that it only had one shot. After all...modern guns are MUCH lighter than the ones he is used to...which would NOT lead him to believe there were more bullets in it.
