Sherlock bonded with some interesting people...first the dominatrix and then a murderer. Corporations are portrayed as being greedy, but the employee in this episode was the worst I have seen. He wanted to destroy a man's reputation and rob his family of his benefits. Sherlock used his usual uncanny power of recall to expose the truth about the people involved. Joan also showed some smarts in picking a lock and discovering the tablet. I am not surprised when parents are exposed for being abusive or perverted. However, this episode did make me wonder how often the children kill their parents for it.

I haven't seen it yet. Cynthia Stevenson, who has always been so cute and still looked cute, strapped a bomb to herself and went inside the Capitol.
The fallout from the President's affair was still there, and his mistress was trying to defuse the situation and got accused of being a terrorist, which the woman's son supposedly was.

A little darker episode this week. I thought that Sherlock's connection with the nanny quite facinating but his recognizing her by voice and a tattoo was a little contrived. Loved how the cop put on his badge and stood face to face with the sex shop owner, saying he'd gladly stay there until the search warrant arrived. Way to go! While Joan showed some smarts in finding the tablet, her method of doing it.....there are too many heat registers for a room this size....again, a bit contrived. It seems everyone wanted to kill Titus (there must be something about that name), but I was sorry to see it was his oldest son that did it, even though he did it to protect his youngest son. At first I was shocked that Sherlock let the nanny take the rap for the murder in order to pay for he killing her father 22 years ago, but his experience as a young man being beaten up by his fellow students and the nanny telling him how it would ruin the rest of his life....well, in Sherlock's world, I guess it made sense. When he told the kid he would be watching him, I thought, yeah, that sounds like something Sherlock Holmes would do. As for being someone the kid could talk to if he needed to talk, well, talking to Sherlock might have its own problems. All in all, a pretty darn good episode. But the guy who dressed up his dead body in a latex sex suit and then calling a dominatrix in.....it didn't add anything to the story. A bit weird.

I agree the dominatrix did not add anything to the story, but it served to highlight how cleverly Sherlock detects anomalies. He thought it was odd no powder was used to squeeze the man into the suit. Something was unclear to me about that scenario. The co-worker would have had to arrive, see the man was dead, then leave to get the suit and return to place it on him. That seems extreme for a spur of the moment thought.

I agree the dominatrix did not add anything to the story You didn't know her, did you? I know her from "Are We There Yet?" She's a naughty and apparently sexually adventurous girl there too. I say apparently because it's a family show and they can only do so much.

I'm remembering the right episode when I say the letters back and forth were interesting, right? And Schmidt on "New Girl" had a similar situation involving Michael Keaton. Or rather his mom and then his college roommate Nick pretending. But the guy who dressed up his dead body in a latex sex suit and then calling a dominatrix in.....it didn't add anything to the story. A bit weird. You have to have these in murder mysteries.
