Will the part of the group that is quarantined survive? How will Rick explain away Carol's absence? Watch and discuss.

That is some scary stuff. I bet Carol would have locked everyone in their cells. It's too late once they start dying. They will kill the other quarantined people. Carol, where are you?

There was so much danger and heroism in this episode. Hershel has the heart of a hero. If I survived the apocalypse, I would want Hershel by my side because he would never desert me. He would stay ‘til the bitter end. He showed courtesy to the sick people and even to the ones who died. It seemed as though this might have been the first time Hershel had to personally put someone down, but I do not know. It was so sad when he started to cry in Dr. Caleb’s cell. As luck would have it, the fence came down while half the people were sick and the others were away. Rick and Carl worked well as a team to put down too many walkers to count. That was a harrowing experience and they both handled it like experts. Carl is now wearing the hat, but I think it is decorated with vegetables(?). ;D Let’s talk about Carol. Maggie and Hershel handled the information calmly. I guess the medical crisis prevented the others from wondering where Carol is, but I wonder why Carl did not say anything. When Rick was on his way to talk to Daryl, Rick did not need much persuasion to walk away with Carl instead. I can understand that, but I am sure Daryl is on his way to confront Rick. Maggie was either brave or crazy. I can’t make up my mind about that because she kissed bloody virus infected Glen. Who does that? Lizzie obviously does not comprehend that you cannot reason with walkers. She said she talked to Henry nicely and she expected him to not harm her. Michonne heroically dragged all those walker bodies onto a truck and she was able to smile after she did it. It was nice that she invited Hershel because he probably needed a roadtrip. When I heard the ominous music at the end of the episode, I expected to see Daryl, but it was the Governor! Was he the one who fed the rats to the walkers?

I was kind of surprised that there was so little reference to Carol's non appearance when Rick got back to the prison. When he finally told Herschel, the old man looked stricken. Isn't that when Hershel walked back through the cell block shutting the doors and then sat down in an empty cell and broke down crying.
I think Carol was vindicated in this episode...maybe if they had killed a few of the sick people, there would not have been such a blood bath in the cell block.
AA, you may be right that that was the first time Herschel had to "kill" a walker close up. He had shot many of them when they overran his farm, but since he had been keeping so many of them locked up in his barn, he wasn't used to the up close and personal kill.
And yes, Rick was much too easily talked out of speaking with Darryl.
Standouts? Carl and Maggie! Weren't they fearless? You know, with all the ammunition they had, I was wondering why they hadn't shot the walkers at the fence before they broke it in? I mean, it looks like they've been propping it up for a while. They must have expected that eventually the fence would give way. And the herd got through the inner fence in nothing flat! I don't know if anyone other that Darryl could have done as well as Carl did shooting the herd. And to see him turn to his dad (when the van carrying Darryl, et al back and say, "It's gonna be alright, dad," was a real heart tugger.
Did anyone else but me first think it was Carol returning to the prison. I hoped it was her, but was glad to see the group bringing medicine had returned safely.
But to hear Darryl ask after Carol and Herschel telling him "She's alright," was heartbreaking. Where is she?
Maggie seems to be wearing chest armor. To see her charging through the cell blocks trying to find a way to her father and Glenn was nailbitingly tense. I really thought Glenn was going to die. And it was gross. Glad to hear he made it. It would have been tough to lose two of the original members in as many weeks.
So recovering alcoholic, Bob, saves the day by mixing medicine and saving Glenn. And Tyreese got to see that his sister survived as well.
When I heard to ominous music at the end, I couldn't at first see who it was.....the hair was short, was it Carol? No, the face became illuminated and I saw an eye patch......the Governor!!!!
How did he manage to avoid all the walkers around the prison? What has he been up to? Does he have any backup or is he on his own? I can hardly wait for next Sunday! This one gets a 5!

Yes! I did think it was Carol returning to the prison and I slid to the edge of my seat waiting for the fireworks. I too think Carol was vindicated because she is the only one who did something to protect them from the sick people. The remaining members did not lock or secure the cell doors. I do not understand that. I agree both Carl and Maggie were magnificent. Maggie was willing to stay with Rick to hold the herd of walkers back, but her heart was with her father and Glenn. She was determined to get into the quarantine area. Carl is a sharpshooter. I have seen him confidently make direct hits when one of the group members was in danger of being bit by a walker. The Governor must be invincible. He managed to stroll up to the prison in spite of there being hundreds of walkers in the area. What happened to his two buddies who left with him? I wonder if someone in the camp is spying for him? Maybe Bob because he seems weak?

Yikes, Bob a turncoat? You may have hit on something. He hasn't been a big help up until now, and someone with his weaknesses would certainly be bullied into doing something sneaky by the Governor. We'll have to wait and see.
