Cas is human and holding down a job. But we know the "fallen angels" are looking for some revenge for his part in their downfall. Will he survive? Can Dean manage to keep Cas away from Sam and "seeing" Ezekial inside?
Watch and decide. Then come and discuss!

Thanks SoCal. The new clip made me laugh. The tablets were already difficult to translate and then they ran into some doodles for a dead language. I think I am laughing because I cannot imagine Dean struggling through even 10 pages of that book.

You know, AA, while I smiled at first, later I thought it would have been nice to see Dean portrayed as a smart hunter, not someone who is flummoxed by a book. I don't like the constant belittling of his intelligence. How in the hell has he managed to reach his 30's if he's so danged stupid?

Dean is very intelligent. I think he would rather be active than read. Several times he has been the one to decipher the necessary information... The Phoenix's ashes and a lot of information on monsters.

Is it just me, or did this week's story seem more like a set up to a punchline - meaning, service to "this is human-Cas, this is human-Cas dealing with human-ness"? Like, outside of the Crowley parts, there wasn't any real purpose to what else was happening other than as a way to get Dean out and over to Cas, so we could see the Cas-dealing bits. I'm probably not explaining this very well. Tonight's Agents of Shield and last night's Sleepy Hollow: the story and characters were integrated, the story wasn't a tool separate from the characters, a side note. Hard to explain, sorry. Feel free to rip me now, for raining on the SPN parade.

I just found the episode boring. Cas's storyline was dull. The only fun parts were with Crowley. BTW, how was Crowley able to get a syringe without Sam or Kevin noticing? What was he doing drawing his own blood? Trying to communicate with Abbadon? Why can't Crowley see that Sam is possessed by an angel? If Cas is human, how does he know when a human is possessed by an angel? Next week had better be a better episode.

The episode was sad because it showed the difficulties Castiel has in understanding how to survive as a human. He told Dean he was proud that he was adjusting and had responsibilities as a service representative. But we know that currently he is homeless and sleeping at the store.
The misunderstanding about the date with his co-worker was not Cas’ fault. He wants to help people and he stayed to watch the baby although he had no experience in that area. The MOTW (angel) revealed that Cas is in emotional pain and that is why he was going to euthanize him.
I felt sad for Cas when he was in the Impala and he was reluctant to get out of the car. I am sure he was hoping Dean would extend an invitation.
The episode also showed the danger that the fallen angels pose for unsuspecting humans. Cas explained to the angel that getting to know and understand humans would take some time and he should stop killing them. The angel refused to stop so he really did need to be killed.
Crowley continues to amuse me with his snarky attitude. He did reveal the truth about the ingredients in the falling angels spell, but I am not convinced that it cannot be reversed.
SoCal, I cannot imagine why two brainiacs would leave syringes with Crowley. Crowley’s conversation with Abbadon did not go well. Was the syringe already filled with blood when Crowley picked it up? If it was, is he trying to make himself human enough to use his own blood for some purpose? If it was empty, is he going to try to use his own almost-human blood to make a private phone call?
Anicat, I'm not going to "rip" you. Any excuse to have a Cas-centric episode makes me happy. ;D

After several viewings I am rating it good, it was much better than the last couple of episodes for me. This new writer was pretty good and I was pleasantly surprised that no one was made to look or act stupid or act like a dog SoCal, Crowley got the syringe when Sam and Kevin turned their backs on him when they got the paper for him to read, I knew when I saw that they would regret it, and I bet that one small act will come into play later on. Did anyone else notice that Abbadon was in front of Castle Storage? Wonder if she was there for something else other than needing to "make a call"? Overall I liked the episode but it had a lot of sadness in it, Dean, Cas, Crowley all seemed sad and Kevin seems different, almost more mature than he used to be, he seems more willing to make the tough choices that 2 years ago, he would never have dreamed about having to make. Dean is just really lying up a storm these days, he has been lying to Sam continually this year and now he is lying to Cas, this will blow up in his face before too much longer, the more you lie, it becomes harder to keep track of them and it will only end badly for Dean. I believe Dean thinks he is doing the right things for everyone, and I think he thinks he is keeping them safe, but I have a bad feeling about where this will end up. Poor Cas, he seems so alone and sad, it is heartbreaking to see him like that, to see him realize that this is what his life is about now, and that he has no one really to depend on. I was glad to see that even though Cas was unhappy with his life he could still take pride in doing a job and doing it well. I also don't think Cas will sit by and do nothing to help the angels, he has always been strongly bound by duty and responsibility and the desire to do the right thing, even if he messes it up he always wants to do the right thing. Dean came and checked on him but Cas is angry with Dean and isn't happy to see him. Dean feels glad to see his friend, but the guilt is there underneath because of him not being able to tell Cas the truth. I know Dean is doing what he feels is best for Sam and Cas but I think that will come back and bite him and the fallout will be very bad. I could see the sadness in Crowley and it almost made me feel bad for him, so why is he injecting himself with blood? Is it to get enough human blood in him to fool the devils' trap? is it to have prophet like abilities? I just don't know.

SoCal, Crowley got the syringe when Sam and Kevin turned their backs on him when they got the paper for him to read, I knew when I saw that they would regret it, and I bet that one small act will come into play later on. *** I could see the sadness in Crowley and it almost made me feel bad for him, so why is he injecting himself with blood? Is it to get enough human blood in him to fool the devils' trap? is it to have prophet like abilities? I just don't know. After watching the episode again, I can see that the syringe disappeared when the guys turned their back. That also answers my question of whether or not he was injecting or withdrawing blood. He injected Kevin’s blood into his vein and then there was a look of pleasure or euphoria on his face. I now think he likes the feeling of “humanity” that the blood gives him. Kevin's blood would be righteous. Am I on the right path? Did anyone else notice that Abbadon was in front of Castle Storage? Wonder if she was there for something else other than needing to "make a call"? I did not notice until you mentioned it. There were a lot of occult items in that storage facility and there were some demon traps too. I wonder what Abaddon wants from there. Poor Cas, he seems so alone and sad, it is heartbreaking to see him like that** When Castiel and the angels fell, I was sure that the guys would take care of him. I thought they would teach him how to fend for himself and it is heartbreaking for him to be alone after all he has given up to help others. If I was in Castiel’s shoes, I would think Dean only found him useful when he could help him with a problem. He did refer to Dean as “a friend”, but will Castiel trust Dean to have his back in the future?
