All righty kids! Here it is the end of hellatus (at least for two weeks); I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season.
I'll be putting a poll up in a moment.
Discuss away....just be kind to each other!

Will this poll be open? Just remembering the problems we used to have on the old board before the polls were de-anonymised (is that a word?). We discussed this on the old board and the consensus was that people should be able to see how we each voted.

We discussed this on the old board and the consensus was that people should be able to see how we each voted. That isn't exactly how it works on ProBoards. You can see a list of who voted but not how. So the answer is sort of.

Anyone else got butterflies! I never get nervous, why the nerves. I usually get the googlies (butterflies) but tonight I don't. Instead my throat feels like it's closing up. That means my nerves are going bigtime about the eppy!!

At the moment I don't care about the episode...we got Dean smiling at the end. Sammy sleeping soundly and Dean smiling in the drivers seat. I see heading for a prank episode with hilarity soon and we'll have our SPN boys whole again soon.

Well, episode's over. Mixed feelings here. Honestly, I liked it, for the most part. Can't stand that Bobby's gone, and that we didn't get a hunter's funeral for him (at least we didn't get to see it..), but there was emotional impact. That 'three week' thing they did with the music playing in the background was cool, and made me sniffle a bit. The beer being empty? Either Bobby sending a message to Dean to move on, or Cas. Leaning towards the first, cause that seems like something he'd do, and I don't think it's impossible to do from Heaven. Don't really think he's a ghost, though that too is possible. Really doesn't seem like what Bobby'd do though. *shrugs* I liked the rock. Liked the girl. The monsters were a little lame, but not glaringly so. Liked the brotherly stuff. Frank didn't annoy me as much as I thought he would. I liked the message he gave Dean. Didn't like.. that Bobby's gone. Didn't like that this episode was mostly lighthearted. BUT, the boys did seem pretty sad through most of it. Sad, but with the knowledge that its the life. Hunters die bloody. Glad that Dean got at least some positive note out of things and with the girl.

That would be so gorgeous. BUT I would actually of really liked to it of been Sam. He's watching his brother and I think getting into the whole drinking thing with him doesn't work so he's going another route. Just steering him away.

it was better than i thought it was going to be, being that my two least favorite writers wrote this epi. i freaking KNEW that they wwere going to pull the 'time elapse' crap between bobby's death and the beginning of the epi. it would have been nice to see the boys give him a hunters funeral. i'm just glad that they're not glossing over how the boys feel about his loss. while frank will never replace bobby, i'm glad he was there to give dean the mental smack upside the head that he so badly needed. irregardless of how frank acts towards dean, i do think he genuinely likes him. i also liked how both boys are dealing with bobby's loss is reminiscent of how they each delt with john's loss. sam was all 'let's talk about it and not bottle it up', while dean was internalizing his pain and using it to fuel his quest to avenge bobby. i did like krissy. she was like a mini female version of dean so, i gave this epi an 8.

Loved Sam being in control. Glad they made clean ending for Bobby. Will miss him, but his heroes exit sits well for me. Not sure I'm voting right. The catagories are a little strange.

Would have liked to have seen a hunter's funeral for Bobby as well. Looks like Dean may be trying to fake it until he makes it and likes his job again which I approve of. I think Sam is heading for a melt down.
Mysterious beer drinking...mreh..I don't think Bobby would be trying to scare the boys like that. Cas wouldn't do that either. I'm wondering if it has something to do with Sam's hellucinations. Either a cross over into reality or he's doing things and not realizing that he's doing it.
Or it was the unicorn.

I think the beer is the first hint that Bobby is still around as a ghost. I'm going to give this time to settle and maybe watch again before I rate it. Right now I'm having mixed feelings. It was better than I expected, though.

I don't think it was Bobby who drank the beer. If it were, he'd be a ghost and the boys could see a ghost. I'm also assuming with Bobby dead, he got a Hunter's funeral. Which means salted and burned, so no ghost.
However, Cass can be there and not be seen, as exhibited in season 6. So, I'm leaning toward Cass! There was that whole spoon bending thing AFTER the spoon bender walked away in an earlier episode. I think he's trying to let them know he's there somehow. There is also the fact that the then recap made a point of showing Cass and the trench coat. Yes, I am still on the Cass Spoon Wagon. Now, it's the Cass Spoon and Beer Wagon.
There is of course the possibility it was Sam. Maybe his powers are manifesting again. But I don't think it is.
Watching Dean trying to fake a smile and try not to cry was heart breaking. Fake it and smile Frank? What do you think he's been doing? For years?
All in all I give it a good episode rating.

It was better than I expected, though. I could definitely see it as something Bobby'd do. I don't know if he's still around as a ghost, that'd just be wrong for a hunter to do, but its a possibility. He could definitely be useful. Though if Bobby's a ghost, what stops him from contacting the boys? Moving stuff around, or doing something to alert them? I really really do wish there'd been a hunter's funeral. Of course, if they are going the ghost route eventually, or want to leave it open for that possibility, they couldn't salt and burn. *shrugs* But yes, agreed with most. This was a LOT better then I was expecting after the 'spoilers' we got. And the kid was pretty cute. Generic 'sassy, know it all, tough kid' but there's a reason why that's a winning formula.

Hah, the Cas Spoon and Beer Wagon sounds fun. *hops on board* Don't think it was Sam, in whichever way. My friend says she saw the full beer one second, and then it was empty the next, so it seems supernatural in nature. Jim Michaels tweeted about it too. IE 'Where'd the beer go....??'. It all makes me think it really is Cas. And yeah. Dean's trying to smile instead of crying... or mayb ejust smile/crying over thoughts of his mentor, his father figure.. that still makes me choke up.

My Mom brought up something interesting....
She thinks that Bobby isn't really dead and is still in a coma and the boys are telling people that he's dead so that the Leviathan think he is dead and don't go after him and try and kill him for good.
I like her theory.
Also with regards to the beer bottle emptying she thinks it was Cas and not a ghost Bobby. She was kinda bummed later in the eppy when he didn't show up. LOL

i have to agree that i don't think it was a ghost that made the beer disappear. if bobby is indeed dead and was given a hunter's funeral, then he's gone and moved on. since we do have castiel returning a few epis from now, it's very poosilbe that it could be him. then again, misha did say that cas would be different upon his return. so if it is cas, then i think we can cross leviathan off the list of things he could be. i'm still leaning towards it being god or another angel using castiel's image. whoever took the beer obviously doesn't want dean drowning his sorrows anymore.

And next episode Sam runs unexpectedly into an 'old friend' so.. (not saying Cas as Misha. But Cas as someone else temporarily, possible). As for Bobby being in a coma, nah.. Don't think that's the case. If so, Dean wouldn't refuse to call Bobby's 'people' to tell them he's gone. Bobby's gone.. Like someone else said, its nice that it was cleanly and well done. Not that I want him gone But yeah.

I like the theory that Sam was the one who made the beer go away because he's been bitch-facing and griping about Dean's drinking all season. Like before he looked at the alcohol with approval and since talking about it to Dean didn't work, he subconsciously zapped it away.
I remember couple folks thought Sam broke the spoon, a throwback to season 1 when Dean teased him to bend the spoon.

Something tells me that Bobby will be back. IF we do get Cas back in his full capacity, we know he can alter time. He might just go back to before he opened the purgatory door and all this Leviathan mess happened. *shrug* Still can't fathom why Cas would take away the beer, unless he's trying to help Dean.

That's just it. To help Dean. To 'tell' him to stop drowning himself in drink (which he's been doing all season and is known to do frequently enough). Of course, I could be wrong. I like, equally, the idea of Sam's powers surfacing again, and being responsible for both spoon and beer poof, subconsciously. I just hope that these events don't become mysterious plotholes in the end, and are never answered.

I'm pretty sure from Twitter allusions a while back the "old friend" will be Sheriff Mills. But you'd be mad if the spoon bending and the beer disappearing were Cass's doing? Him trying to communicate with Dean? Just clarifying.

if it is castiel, he may be trying to straighten dean out. the boys are the only ones standing between the leviathans and world domination. in order to defeat them, both have to be on their game. i do have another theory as to what may happen, but i'm keeping it under wraps for a little while longer. i need to see a few more epis to either lend creedence to it, or nix it altogether.
