I am very curious about the reason. Mycroft said his father is displeased. I thought Sherlock was doing very well. He is not using drugs and he helps the police.

Maybe he thinks he should be on the Police force is what his dad thinks.

That might be it. That would be considered a stable job instead of just working when he feels like it.
Sherlock wants Joan to move to London with him.

I don't like it when he goes to London, but I won't object if they do it a few times.

Kyle, I do not think they will be going to London anytime soon. This was a good episode and it revealed that there is a personal mystery regarding Mycroft's plans for Sherlock. Sherlock showed his skill as an inventor by rigging an attachment to the fencing mask that holds an egg. When an opponent makes a strike, the egg breaks so that there will be no dispute. Mycroft wound up with egg on his face mask. Both Sherlock and Joan detected important clues to help solve the case. I was able to guess what was going on before they revealed it though. Mycroft tried to convince Sherlock that their father wanted Sherlock to return to London and might cut him off financially if he did not. Although she wore this charming outfit, Sherlock was able to concentrate and be honest with Joan. Then he wrote a letter to his father and requested Mycroft to give it to him. I am puzzled and curious by Mycroft's comments to someone on the phone that revealed their father has no knowledge of what Mycroft was doing. When he said they would have to come at the problem from a different angle, it made me wonder whether Mycroft is being good or bad.

I agree about it being a stable job, I doubt she will move with him to London. We were right. Mycroft suggested that Sherlock could work with Scotland Yard. I was bewildered at the suggestion that Sherlock should show some gratitude to his father for helping him. That may be true, but it is obvious that Sherlock and his father are so disgusted with each other that they only communicate through 3 rd parties. I think Joan's feelings for Sherlock are strong enough for her to move to London with him. However, his love for that other woman made it awkward for either one of them to reveal their feelings. Personally, I prefer the undercurrent of desire and it would ruin the show if they ever crossed that line.

I want Watson and Sherlock to stay together. I've gotten used to New York and changing it to London would just change the whole show.
It takes so much effort to understand British accents anyway. I watched a movie set in Britain and there was only one American. I had to try so hard to understand everyone else.

Jeff, that's probably it.
We know why Mycroft would be angry with Sherlock, but I never understood why Sherlock was so angry with Mycroft before his last trip to London. Being around his brother sets Sherlock on edge so something must have happened.
Does anyone know the reason?

The viewer has finally been let in on why they're trying to kill the President on "Hostages". It would be a great Sherlock Holmes mystery.
It's different from this episode in that the President and the daughter don't know they are related to each other, and in this episode the daughter is sick.
The cure would require the President to either be killed or to know who is daughter is, and it is believed he would kill her if he knew.

I am going to marathon it and if I like it, I will make a thread. Kyle, I am trusting you on this one.

It still doesn't make my top ten shows but that's just because the subject matter is so dark. It's probably No. 11.
