So, it looks like Ezekial isn't the only thing Dean's keeping a secret from Sam. It seems he was in reform school as a 16 year-old. What's come up to bring him back to the people he knew there? What does Sam think about Dean's stint as "D-Dog?" Watch and discuss.

I think this was a really good MOTW episode and I like that it showed a part of Dean’s past that I did not know about. I like the moniker “D-Dog” for Dean. I have wondered how they did so many shady things when they were young without getting caught, so it makes sense that he wound up in reform school. He was already a tough kid and gave the cop a shiner. Aw…he received a certificate for winning a wrestling championship. Robin might have been the first heart that Dean broke. I knew this was going to be a spooky one so I turned the lights off to increase the effect. It made me squeamish when the tractor started up and the man tripped. Oh man! Worse than that was the kid sticking his hand near the lawnmower blade. When they decided the kid was the anchor for the ghost, I wondered how they would resolve that without killing the kid. Thank you Dean for coming up with a humane solution. I know Dean usually did what John told him to do, but I think seeing Sam in the car settled the debate on whether to stay or to go. And, apparently, Sam guessed the reason.

Enjoyed the episode and seeing some more of Dean's past I see his card playing has improved over the years! I really like Sonny. So happy to see him still alive at the end of the episode. I wonder why the ghost killed the woman who lived there who kept house. Was it just because she knew there was a ghost in the building or was it that she scared the kids? I didn't think her death was necessary. I didn't see real chemistry between Robin and Dean and her showing up for guitar lessons with the kid seemed a bit forced. I still don't like how the writers keep trying to portray John in an increasingly bad light. When the show started, he was a hero and Dean idolized him. As the years have gone by, he's seen as more of a tyrant who only thought about hunting and didn't seem to put much work into his kids. Young Dean's smile as he looked out his window and saw Sam playing with the toy was priceless. Dean really loves his little brother. Sonny's telling him he would go to the mat and fight to keep him there was so touching. Dean and Sam in the Impala....wonderful brother moment.

We know John was on a crusade but I never doubted that he loved his boys. I noticed the change beginning in S3 "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" when Dean confronted himself and lashed out at his father. I did not like it then and I did not like it last night when the cop reported that John said let Dean rot in lock-up. I am sure John saw that as keeping Dean safe until he could come for him, but it was not presented that way. There is no merit in denigrating John. However, I am glad that Sonny let Dean know he was there to help him.

Sonny was awesome. I don't know who the actor was, but he's terrific! One thing......how was it Sonny knew that Dean and Sam were hunters? I don't remember that coming up in the flashbacks.

Sonny asked Dean if he was into the type of music that promoted devil worshipping and Dean said of course not. Then Sonny mentioned he saw the occult symbols etched into Dean's bed. During the flashback, we did not see Dean give any details, but I guess we need to assume he told Sonny about the family business. I do not know the actor either but he is a Californian. (Is that what y'all call yourselves?) Blake Gibbons is a soap opera actor who played in General Hospital and The Young and the Restless plus some movies.

I rated this one a 4, I thought it was a decent mostly solid episode and it was kind of a throwback to earlier seasons. I thought the kid that played young Dean was very good, he had the right amount of sarcasm, bravado and that little bit of vulnerability, that showed up when John came to pick him up, and young Dean almost cried. It made me sad that Dean had a small chance at a normal life at that age and yet he gave it up for his family, though I think it was seeing Sammy that really made up his mind for him. I thought all the deaths/accidents in this were rather gruesome, I really didn't think that they would show the kid getting hurt by the lawnmower, but they did. Anti, I always watch with the lights out, it helps me focus only on what I see on screen, I won't read, or allow calls when I am watching, it takes away form me being able to concentrate. I like Sonny and wouldn't mind seeing him again, he was the right mixture of gruff and understanding. I liked seeing smart Sam who was able to see the pictures and put together what happened with Timmy and his mom. Please show don't dumb these guys down, because they aren't! Dean- where do I begin? When he says "sometimes you have to do what is best for you even if it hurts the ones you love" or something like that, it tells you that Dean will go to the ends of the earth to protect his brother and to keep him safe. Dean has sacrificed so much for Sam, not only because John told him so and it was expected out of him but because he loves Sam, these two brothers love each other, it is just that simple. They may not always get along or treat each other right, but they love each other above everything else. When John came back to pick up Dean and didn't care that Dean had something special going on, he wasn't doing that because he didn't care about Dean. He did it because of his sense of duty and responsibility and that was what he was teaching his boys, he may not have been going about it the right way, but John loved his boys. I am tired of seeing him painted as a bad dad, he did what he had to do to help keep his boys safe.

November, that sounds like a good idea. I will turn the lights off from now on and refrain from looking at my smart phone. I play a lot of different "With Friends" games and I receive a lot of alerts while the show is on. I do not respond, but I will look to see what the alert is. I bet that's why I fail to notice something that happens quickly. Got it! No lights...no games...no reading...during Supernatural. Sounds like a plan. When Sam learns the big secret that Dean is keeping from him, I hope he grasps immediately that Dean did it out of love and concern. Do we have an idea when Sam will learn about Ezekiel?

Hi Anti , Yep, that is how I watch SPN, no lights, no calls, no anything else, I just watch the live show and then I usually watch a second time before I go to bed. It is the best way for me to concentrate on what I am seeing and that way I am only thinking about what I see on screen, and not what some spoiler said, or someone speculated might happen. I think we will find out the "truth" in 9.09-9.11 and of course that is over hellatus. One more thing, Young Dean had the amulet

I hope they do a good job when Sam finds out. I am going to avoid spoilers about that because sometimes people give too much information. I will watch the episode again tomorrow. I really did enjoy young Dean's performance. I did not notice the amulet. Will pay attention tomorrow.

I didn't notice the amulet either. But then again, I was spending more time watching Orlando Jones's antics live-tweeting along with the episode than the episode itself. #SleepyNatural #SuperSleepy #BeingSuperSleepy Is "meh" a rating? For me, excepting the first episode, this season has been "meh". Nothing is reaching out and grabbing my interest. Thank God for "Person of Interest" that came on after. It was such an intense, heart-gripping and heart-stopping episode that I quickly forgot SPN. Remember that one particular episode early-on in NCIS? The ending was THAT: and I haven't been so stunned/shocked/horrified/devastated since Wash in Serenity. Or the S01 finale in SPN. Because it was heart-breaking, and totally unexpected. That's what's missing these days from SPN...I knew what was coming the moment I saw Creepy Kid looking out of the window.

There is only one good scene where you can see the amulet and that is when Sonny take young Dean to the diner to eat, the only other time you can kind of see it is when young Dean and young Robin are on the porch kissing. Hi Anicat , I am guessing they are doing like they have a habit of doing , they put a lot of so-so episodes together and then they will have several really good ones together. It just makes the so-so ones stand out more, I kind of wish they would scatter that thru the season.

It was nice seeing the amulet and I am glad the show remembered to include it.
Fandom: Last week's episode of The Walking Dead was dedicated entirely to a character (villain) introduced last season. Not one of the main characters was in it. The fans commented on the episode but no one seemed upset about the character being the focus. I was okay with it too. I wish Supernatural fans were like that.

Thanks for the hashtags. I kept looking for the tweets, but did not see them until I searched on the tags.
