Looks like the governor has reverted to his old ways. He can't let the little group at the prison get away with living relatively peacefully away from his new group. Who will survive? Who will fall? Watch and discuss here. And since it's the mid-season finale, we'll have a long time to figure things out!

This was a chiller and thriller. I am giving it a 5. I was surprised the Governor got the drop on Hershel and Michonne right at the beginning. That was a bad sign. Brian’s speech to his new group sounded plausible, but he was not really honest about the fact that the prison crew would not give up without a fight and they would suffer casualties. He made it sound like a sure thing. I am not surprised Meghan died because she was not monitored carefully. Poor kid. I think Rick gave a good argument for sharing the prison. I do not think the Governor ever planned to let Michonne or Rick live. I really admire Carl’s willingness to take charge as he told Daryl that he was a good shot and could take the Governor from there (40 yards?). The battle did more damage than I anticipated. So many people from both groups died and the prison people got separated. Because of the damage from the tank, if any members of Brian’s crew survived, they would not be able to live at the prison anyway. The bloody carseat! Where’s Judith? Carl cried. Hershel’s death was brutal! The Governor tried to decapitate him, but it took about 5 whacks. The Governor’s death was satisfying. First, Rick hit him with some good punches; then Michonne stabbed him with her blade and finally Lily finished him off with a bullet. “Father. Farmer. Doctor. Friend ……..Rest in peace, Hershel
Father. Leader. Tyrant. Madman ……..Rot in Hell, Governor” P.S. I am sure everyone is happy that Bob survived his bullet wound.

AA, I agree completely. A totally satisfying episode. If we all didn't know what a slime and a liar "Brian" is/was, his speech to his group would have meant something more to me. But he filled it with lies all built to make him look like the injured party. I was surprised at how fast the group fell in with him. First, I can't believe Darryl didn't rip Rick's head off when he told him about Carol. Not surprised Darryl wanted to be with Rick when he told Tyreese, if only to hold him back. The first explosion came significantly before Rick could tell Tyreese about Carol. When "Brian" brought out Herschel and Michonne I was sure he was just going to shoot them both in front of Rick. There was no good reason "Brian" could give for not agreeing with Rick for both groups to live together in the prison. How did "Brian's" group reconcile partially destroying the prison and rendering it unliveable with taking it over. As "Brian" said, the gunshots just brought more walkers to the prison fences. I was surprised some of his goup didn't question him on that. When "Brian" sliced Herschel's neck with that blade, I was so sad, but then I saw that Herschel was still alive until that bastard for some reason decided to cut his head off. Just reinforced the fact that the Governor was a psychopath. I didn't care who among "Brian's" group died. Didn't really know any of them to care enough. But when Lily brought poor, dead Meghan to him, all I could think was, poor little girl. Everyone who comes into contact with the Governor ends up dead. Why did the zombie who killed Meghan just lay buried until she came along? I thought for sure they were going to kill off Darryl when that walker came up behind him. Yay Darryl for icing him and using him for a shield. Tossing those grenades and especially the one into the tank was great. It seems that Carol made a lasting impression on at least a couple of little kids. They saved Tyreese's bacon. Do you think that might count in Carol's favor if they decided to bring her back? Did "Little Asskicker" get eaten? I wonder who got on the bus and who got left behind? Did they seem to have some kind of plan to meet up somewhere in case of an attack on the prison? It was deeply satisfying to see the Governor get whacked by three different people: Rick, to a lesser extent; Michonne, in a wonderful payback and Lily, because the bastard, through what he did, managed to get Meghan killed. Less of a cliffhanger and more of a satisfying ending to the first half of the season. I wonder where everyone goes and if they manage to meet up again the way they did after the farm burned down? I can hardly wait for February.

I gave the episode a 5. It deserved it for many reasons...but I would have given it just for the death of The Governor alone. The speech Rick gave to him about being able to live together...to 'come back' from whatever bad things they had done was interesting. I wonder if that same sentiment applies to Carol? I do not mind a good cliffhanger here and there, but the unknown fate of Judith should not have been put before us like that. That is just mean. I believe that Lizzie went back for her. She became my new hero after she shot Alisha in the head. I think that the demise of the prison was overdue. It always had a bad feel about it and it is time that they moved on to a new haven. As for Hershel?...Lauren and Scott were both on The Talking Dead last night and it was clear to see that it was all she could to keep from crying. That is all that I can say about him at this time. A Happy Holiday season to you all! See you in February...if not sooner.

There is no Walking Dead to look forward to over the holidays, but I wish Happy Holidays to our TWD fans.
I am glad you all enjoyed the episode as much as I did. I forgot to give credit to Rick and Carl for the excellent job they did clearing the fence of walkers. There were no walkers there until the Governor fired his gun.
There was so much confusion with people getting on and off the bus that I am not sure who got left behind. Please let Judith be okay.
Darryl has a warm heart for both Lil Asskicker and Carol. If he loses both of them, he will be truly heartbroken.
Meghan was struggling to lift a metal plate, and the walker was stuck beneath it in a hole. The walker must not have been strong enough to lift it. That was the worse scene for me.
I have 3 questions for February 9: 1. When will we see Carol? 2. Who rescued Judith? 3. How many of the team will reunite?

Maybe we can get through this TWD hellatus by coming up with funny song names that parody the show.

Every time I read that I start laughing. How about "All I Want for Christmas is Darryl's Crossbow" or "All I Want for Christmas is a Zombie Free Zone"
