I really like Sherlock's character,
...but I cannot imagine him being a good sponsor for an addict.
He lacks empathy and would probably insult the person. I thought we would see more episodes with Sherlock's sponsor.

I doubt he will be any good, Maybe he will want Watson to take over as sponsor.

Jeff, that is a good thought. I never thought about Watson being able to help guide him, but she could.
The episode was good although I detected some tension between Holmes and Watson. I am sure they will work it out.
Watson did a good job of getting the videos from the skateboarders and identifying one of the killers. Then she had to do another good job of getting the information to the Captain without talking about her former client.
Holmes does a fascinating job of putting information together to solve the crimes.
It is pretty obvious that Bell still resents what happened to him. I was glad that he was offered a job on a special task force in which he will be able to use his invesigative skills. Good for him.
Sherlock said he does feel some empathy for people so his sponsorship might work. I must admit that I burst out laughing when Holmes posed in the drawing room and announced "Enter!". The way he was being so formal and nervous struck my funny bone.

How are you able to watch it when it comes on the air right away Anti? Thanks for asking. I really like the show so I usually watch Elementary at 10 PM EST when it airs. There are several ways for me to do that. The DVR records more than one show at the same time so I let other shows record and watch them later. I can watch Elementary on more than one TV. I can watch shows on my smart phone.

I haven't seen it yet.
I saw in the TV listings that PBS will have a series on the influence of Sherlock Holmes. Not this version of him, obviously. Well, maybe. He has been around a year.

I made a decision to watch the shows that we chat about when they come on. I let the other shows pile up and then marathon them. Before that, I was always playing catch-up on everything.

I can't play catch-up because the WOMEN won't let me play catch-up because she watching her shows and is catching up on hers.

I saw it Saturday.
I liked the way Sherlock handled being a sponsor.
I felt good about myself when I recognized the first black man immediately as Sherlock's sponsor before it was even mentioned. Then I saw the second black man and thought he was the same man. I should never be asked to identify anyone in a line-up.
I'm glad Bell got a good job. Having been through physical therapy myself, I'm hoping we can see more of him going through that.
Does the captain have a new partner?

That guy did resemble Sherlock's sponsor so it is not surprising that you thought they were the same person. Does the captain have a new partner? Do captains have partners? I thought everyone reported to him and that he can accompany anyone at any time to a crime scene.

Every time I watch this show, I think about the movies from 2010 and 2011. So...I just purchased the two Sherlock Holmes movies in which Robert Downey Jr. plays Sherlock. They are on Blu-Ray so they should look awesome.

When does it come back again? A new episode will air on January 2, 2014, in which "Moriarty (Natalie Dormer) is brought in as a consultant on a kidnapping case that Watson and Holmes are investigating; Detective Bell struggles on the path to recovery."

You are welcome.
I wonder if Moriarty will be wearing a monitor because if she has been released, that seems quick.

I don't know if that means it'll be a regular thing. On "Monk", Stottlemeyer's partner was always Randy. When Monk was still a cop he was Stottlemeyer's partner, but I don't know if that was still true once he became captain. Amy Dickinson's column today seems to suggest Sherlock and Watson shouldn't be together, though a sponsor is not a sober companion and she might have a different opinion about that.

I am curious...what do you think the column meant by "be together"? Living in the same house? Working as an investigator team? Although Sherlock respects and listens to Joan, I do not think she is acting as his sober companion. I do NOT want them to form a more personal relationship because that would take focus away from the friendship.

I read an article about the PBS program. All these things we take for granted like making sure the crime scene is not disturbed--not done before Sherlock. So in this Sherlock's world, who started doing it?
