Hi folks, we will be upgrading to ProBoards Version 5 by the end of the year, and we don't want to lose a single one of you, so please check out this thread from time to time during the next couple of weeks and we'll keep you updated on the conversion process.

ProBoards is upgrading all forums by January 1st, Jeff, so it's not a choice, it's mandatory.

I don't want changes.
On that other site I went to, the changes were about as smooth as the Obamacare website and about as popular. People hated the new look, but that was nothing compared to sign-in problems and loss of features.
Then they just decided to shut the whole thing down.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) change is inevitable in just about all aspects of life.
We first became eligible for the upgrade to V5 in April of this past year, but decided to give it time for the kinks to be worked out.
However, we're at the end of the opt-out period, and all boards will be automatically upgraded on Jan. 1st, 2014, so we'll be working on getting everything just like we want it over there.
It is a major upgrade, and once you get comfortable with it, I bet you'll really like it.

Exactly what's going to be different? At first glance, i'd say the text is bigger on the new board. There are other, smaller things but nothing too life changing or anything. But of course you've been to the test board so you already knew that.  |

No change yet.
That's it for me today.
I see ads. For a while, I thought I wouldn't because I would go to a thread and read it so quickly I would only see white.
Then I guess some ads finally didn't need to go through the whole process. Everything is slow when I turn on the computer until I've gone to every site.

Why am I seeing photos and even videos? All I want to do is read. It's very distracting and may low my computer down, since the Internet is slow to begin with, and it was possible to avoid those before.

Additionally, clicking on an empty space in the Last Post column will take you to the very last post in the thread. This means you now have three options in how to enter a thread.  |

Additionally, clicking on an empty space in the Last Post column will take you to the very last post in the thread. This means you now have three options in how to enter a thread. You can also click on the last page number in the series of page numbers under the thread title to go to the last, or most recent, page. Sorry if you have already mentioned that, I really didn't read the whole discussion. It would be nice to have a page scroller at the bottom of the thread page, instead of just at the top. Man. Bunch of whiners. lol |

I feel sorry for Proboards staff...look what I found:"Before the unwelcome changes it was possible to block photos, which are distracting, especially if large. I only want to read text. There is also the issue of offensive photos. One member gets very upset at being censored but this helped solve the problem until now. The person is, of course, telling me if I don't like it I should leave.The people who run my forum don't believe in censorship. And those who post like freedom. You made changes that are unwelcome. I don't know how to do anything and I need help here. You're not off the hook. You made changes that upset me and I need your help to fix this problem.
