We're so glad you made it here to our new board. First of all, we'd like you to ask you to spend some time looking at all the new features--we think you'll be impressed. It takes time exploring before you'll know what the new board is capable of, and we encourage you to do that.
However, we'd like you to let us know what is important to you. Are there features from the old board you'd like to see restored? Are there ones we've never thought of that you'd like to see?
Here are the two priorities we're working on right now: getting our smileys back the way the way we want them and getting our logo up on the main banner.
We will give priority to the features that affect the greatest amount of members first. So here's the chance to get your requests and suggestions in for building our board into what we all want it to be. A list of your suggestions following numeric order (1, 2, 3, etcetera ) would be helpful.

Another site I go to lets you ping. I was pinged on the ProBoards Support Forum. I don't really care one way or the other because on this site I don't post all that many places.

I noticed that when I created a new poll, I was unable to edit the title of the poll, or to go back and delete it to start again. You used to be able to delete things on the old version. Can that be restored?

I just pinged our forum from my computer. If you're using Windows, you can do this by clicking the Windows start button, then navigate to All Programs > Accessories and then click on the Command Prompt option. In the command prompt window type in the following: ping displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com Hit enter and you'll get the data. Is that what you were looking for?

I just followed the instructions and was informed that the roundtrip was 34 milliseconds. What do people use this information for? Puzzled and curious.

It's basically to see how long it takes your computer to access a website's server--how fast your connection is.

Moon, thank you. I guess "milliseconds" is nothing to complain about.

Actually, "ping" the way I used it lets you know that someone responded to your post. But I see we have "notifications" for that.

I'm happy to announce that we've begun to add our old smileys back, thanks to a nifty plug-in. Only three up so far, but you'll see a lot more in the next few days. You can access them in a normal reply by clicking on the smiley icon at the top right of the page, then clicking 'view all smileys.' A drop down menu will appear and you just click on the one you want to add it to a post. And, as you can see, you can also do that from the 'quick reply' option even easier. Also added is a nice 'spoiler' function for posts. In the regular reply window click on the very last icon to the right (it's next to the smiley icon) and play around with it. I think you'll like it. This is what it looks like.

I noticed that when I created a new poll, I was unable to edit the title of the poll, or to go back and delete it to start again. You used to be able to delete things on the old version. Can that be restored? I did a little research and found this reason why v5 does not have this function yet: Will that work for tags still? Wonder why controversial? Afraid the answers will be changed after votes? How about only editable while done. There's no poll preview so we can't see if it works. Hi The reason it's not possible to edit a poll after it's created, is to avoid manipulating the voting in the poll. You can remove an existing poll and simply create another one in the same thread. io There are changes planned for polls, in the next v5 upgrade. See the link, below. No date as yet, as far as I know. An admin will be answer that. support.proboards.com/thread/476538/modifying-poll-after-posting That comment about being able to delete it seems to be in question from other posts I've read there, and what you reported. There seems to be quite a history of discussion about the poll problem at ProBoards Support. I'll wade through it and do some testing of my own and let you know here what I find out as soon as possible.

When will be able to block quotes? That Justin Bieber photo showing up over and over was kind of weird.

There's also a function called 'tagging' in ProBoards v5, that shows up in your notifications list. Anytime you want to make sure another member is notified of your post all you have to do is add the '@' sign to the beginning of their username in a post. It will look like this: KyleEl.

What about in the quick reply area? Do you see a 'view all smilies' button there? A request--go to 'edit profile' then 'settings' and under 'forum themes' let me know if you are using 'Leesa Skin' to view the forum. I see that you are using some of our own smilies in your messages. How did you get them in? Also, it would be good to know whether you're having this problem with a smart phone or a regular PC or laptop--and which browser you are using.
Is anyone else not seeing the 'view all smilies' button in regular reply?

Nothing in the quick reply area....just space to type. And I remembered the "codes" for the old smilies...I'll go to edit profile now to check which skin I'm using...

Which browser are you using to view the forum? For Internet Explorer, please include the version number, such as IE11,IE8, etc . . . Try viewing the forum in another browser than the one you normally use and let me know if the button appears. Also, please go to the BetaZone version of our board and let me know if you can see the button there. Thanks! theevicted.freemessageboards.com/

Happy to announce that our logo is finally back up! You'll also see that a spell checker has been added at the bottom of 'reply' and 'quick reply'. It works great, but you do have to enable pop-ups in your browser while posting here in order to use it.

We've had some requests for feature additions come to us by PM. Doing so eliminates discussion about those feature requests here by others and hinders us in making decisions based upon what will benefit the most people, so we are asking that you make them here and not attempt to go to the head of the line by using PMs to mods and admins.
As of now, unless there is an overriding important reason that can be justified we ask that you make all such requests in this thread.

Tag someone
If a member wants to tag someone in the shoutbox to draw their attention to your post, it is necessary to use their user name instead of the screen name. For example, if a person tags me as @theastoundingangel or @the Astounding Angel, I will not receive notification that I was tagged.
If antiarbitrator is used preceded by the @, I will receive notification and my name in the post will appear as The Astounding Angel. That way, no matter how many times I change my screen name, it will appear in the post.
