I had thought I'd already made a thread for this but I can't seem to find it either way as anyone whoever speaks to me knows flowers in the attic is my all time favorite and as the movie remake is fast approaching (January 18 lifetime) I believe a thread dedicated solely to all things flowers in the attic is in order Many of you have read it please post any and all thoughts here on the novel/book/remake And as always be respectful

That was a lovely book. So much texture, images, saddness, and moments of beauty. Once you read it, you'll never forget it...I also liked Petals on the Wind.

Those were great books! My least favorite was Garden of Shadows a bit of a prequel but it doesn't fit in with Flowers in the attic timeline.

I'm not sure...I'm more of a book person. Who do you think was more of a villan....Corrine or the Grandmother?

I think Corrine because as Cathy says there is no such hate as that born out of love

Avp are you watching the remake this Saturday Sadly I do not get that station but I do hope it gets put on DVD as well as YouTube. I view Corrine as the real villian because she chose to let her children to be hidden and forgotten while she acted as the ' innocent daughter' I love the ending scene in the movie when Cathy confronts her for Cory's death. I also loved how Chris' love for her turned to hate, you see how betrayed he was by her actions. It is ironic, one daycare I worked at there was a toddler named Corrine who was a bit of a diva, fortunately I didn't have to interface with her much.

Sadly aeryn there are many cases where relatives choose less things than money over their children To be honest, I think one of the reasons I don't have kids is because I know that I'm selfish, impatient, and quick-tempered. In some ways, I suppose I have a few things in common with Corrine...but at least I didn't have kids. However, if I ever win the lottery or marry a rich guy, I'd adopt.

I remember watching the first movie back in 1987 was a kid but it was indeed scary but I got no plans to watch this one because it doesn't look creepy as 1980's one.

Was the book/movie supposed to be a thriller?
I never thought about that when I read the books 30 years ago. But now when I think about it, it does seem like a thriller because we did not know what horrible things would be done to the children.

I don't think it was intended so much as a thriller but I did read on a fan website where the books were described as a dark fairytale something entirely it's own Vc Andrews pretty much created her own genre with her stories How's that for amazing But you're completely right it could be a thriller it def kept me on edge when I first read it it still does even now after I've read it so much

My mom is always asking when I'll sit down and write a book. Does he still have those hats? Are you two still having wild sex parties?
