And I watched it again and again and again...
Discerning minds want to know
~ Will Sam remember the pain from the brain invasion?
~ Does Sam have nightmares from previous torturous events like Castiel's soul search or Meg's demon invasion?
~ Will Sam forgive Dean?
~ Will Sam, Crowley and Castiel have a group hug?
~ How much time will be devoted to Sam's P-O-V about what happened?

I was not expecting to be slammed with emotion in the first two minutes. Dean is the only one who can make me cry without saying a word. Soooo sad!

This episode rates a 5. I will post later because I have to watch Person of Interest now.

I am too tired to post everything about this episode, so I will be back later on to do it. I did want to say that I think this is one of the best episodes we have had in a long time. I hope that we have more episodes like this!

I enjoyed every moment of this episode including the heart-wrenching scenes at the beginning. This might be my favorite episode of the season.
We have seen sad scenes where the boys stood by a funeral pyre, but it shocked me when I saw Dean had to do that alone. Then, I felt like crying when Dean was in the bunker and had to face his grief, again alone.
I was glad that Dean called Castiel and that Castiel came in spite of having his own problems. There was a time that it seemed like Dean refused to apologize for things he did, but that time is gone. He gave Castiel a sincere apology and Castiel was gracious about it.
I enjoyed all of the scenes with Crowley although I looked away during the brain-search scenes. Abaddon underestimated Crowley to some extent. I did notice that she was not willing to get too close to him though.
I am glad that Sam did talk to Dean about how he felt instead of walking away or saying that how he felt would not change anything. When he told Dean he would not stop him from walking away, I had the feeling that Sam had reached a level of acceptance that that was what Dean needed to do at the time.
I guess Castiel stayed with Sam so that he can look after him while he heals.

I had to re-watch to get every little piece of this episode in my mind. I agree with Anti that this was the best episode so far this season. Watching Dean break down and start throwing things in the MOL bunker was truly sad....and he had no brother to help bring him out of his grief.
Did Dean call Castiel or did he just show up? I thought Dean looked surprised to see him. I notice that Cas didn't ask Dean about the mess in the bunker. Probably he guessed what happened.
Samiel seems to be going darkside. He was so anxious to be loved by Metatron that he agreed to start killing people/angels to prove his loyalty. I was not surprised that he killed the angel who tortured him and Abner, but was VERY surprised that he killed Abner. And it looks like it was a bloody kill, not just an angel sword to the chest. Who knew that Metatron wanted him to kill Dean, too?
I'm worried about what Crowley will be up to. We all know he'll used the boys to further his own ends while making it seem as though he's helping them. Mark Sheppherd was just outstanding in this episode!
Loved the "pimp-mobile" that Castiel found. But why did he need a car when he has his angel "mojo" back? That didn't make sense.
Stupid Cecily thinking she could get away with telling Abaddon she was playing down the middle until a "winner" between her and Crowley played out.
It was interesting to see Crowley inside Sam's head. He seemed almost reasonable with him. When Sam finally expelled Gadriel, I was relieved. It shouldn't matter to Metatron whose meat Gadriel is wearing, should it?
Glad to see Cas heal Sam's head wounds and that most of his inner healing was complete. Sorry to see Dean and Sam at odds. Sam should know by now that Dean is incapable of letting him die. When Dean went to Hell, didn't Sam do all kinds os stuff to bring him back, as well? I mean, that's how he got involved with Ruby.
Good to see that Cas will stay with Sam to help finish healing him. Sorry to see Dean go off on his own. He looked like he would not be able to handle one more punch, verbal or physical.
I'm looking forward to seeing how all this plays out over the rest of the season.

I enjoyed the pimp-mobile too. SoCal, have we seen any angels teleport since the falling? I have been wondering about that. In their human form, we have seen them ride buses, motorcycles, trucks, and hitching rides. I do not know what abilities they retained. But the pimp-mobile was a little light humor.
Although I was happy to see the original vessel, I am not so sure that Gadreel is a worthy angel. I really thought the request to kill his friend would be the turning point and he would part ways with Metatron. So disappointing.
Metatron seems petty and mean. He seems to be rather arbitrary in his targets. Why kill Dean? Would Sam be next?
Looking forward to the next episode.
Edit: Watched the beginning again. Cas did say to Dean "I came as soon as you called." I think Dean was surprised to see him in the suit and coat. *** Some good dialogue between Dean and Castiel:
Castiel: If you kill an angel, his vessel dies too.
Dean: Think I don't know that? ~ If I don't end Sam, then that halo burns him out, and... I am so damn stupid.
Castiel: You were stupid for the right reasons.
Dean: Yeah, like that matters.
Castiel: Yes, it does. Sometimes, that's all that matters. ***
That's right! Good pep talk, Cas.
I enjoyed the humor in the car scene when Crowley asked Cas if he was pimp. Then they both wanted to ride shotgun. It was funny that the vehicle had air shocks and was playing rap.
One other thing that was surprising was that Metatron said he flipped a switch and now there will be no more prophets. I guess he does not want anyone to read God's words.

First episode I've watched in a long time. Love the focus on angels. As always, Crowley is amusing as hell. Abadon needs to die soon...that character is dull and predictable. Crowley: "Shot gun!"

SoCal, Dean called Cas, when Cas showed up in the bunker, he told Dean he came as soon as Dean had called. Cas then noticed the mess and asked Dean what was wrong. I want to know how did Cas get IN the bunker? Angels can't teleport anymore and I didn't think that the guys had given Cas a key so how did he get in? Anyway, I thought this was an excellent episode and all 4 of the guys brought the best out in themselves and each other. I thought this episode had something for everyone, a little humor, a lot of drama, some suspense, some tears, pretty much everything. I liked Dean telling Cas at the beginning what he had done and then later on apologizing for kicking Cas out and lying to him. We have seldom seen Dean be this broken, vulnerable and open, or as open as Dean gets. I felt as if Dean was right there on the edge, he didn't want to have to kill Sam (when I first saw this I didn't pick that up) but he would if he had no other choice. I don't know if Dean would have done it, or if he did I think it would have killed him too. The heartbreak that Dean had over Kevin, and what was building over Sam was hard to watch, and watching Dean try and function thru all that was heartbreaking for me. I think the only other time we have saw Dean like this is at the end of S2 when Sam "died" and we all know how that played out. even though Cas was trying to be supportive for Dean, I felt that Dean felt that he was alone, alone in what happened to Kevin and Sam and alone in how he was trying to cope, and in the end he was going to be alone to get revenge. As much as I don't care for Gadreel and what he has done, I did see some doubt and indecision in how he acted and for what Metatron kept asking of him. I think he was starting to realize that Metatron was not out to do good things, but to be and act selfishly and only in his best interest. I thought Jared did a great job with Gadreel right before Crowley smoked in, by taunting Crowley as if he could scare Crowley into not doing what was needed. Our real Sam at the end, was upset, angry, and I think he understood why Dean did it, but yet he didn't (if that makes any sense) Yet Sam was also broken in a way, he didn't seem to have any fight in him when he and Dean was talking, he just repeated that he was ready to die. I thought when Sam dismissed Gadreel was awesome. I also felt that in a way he was trying to help and protect Crowley who had come to save him, it was interesting to watch how Crowley and Sam interacted with each other and I think that Crowley has a soft spot for Sam, he seemed genuine in his desire to have Sam dismiss Gadreel. I think I have a whole new respect for Crowley, he seemed genuine in his sympathy over Kevin and he seemed genuine in helping Sam. He always looks out for himself and is a master manipulator and stacks the deck toward himself, but I think right now he might need the guys for his own purpose, Not sure why or how, but I think for right now, he won't hurt them. Cas and Crowley arguing over the front seat Mark S. is so good as Crowley and can bring out all the emotions in his portrayal. I think it will be interesting to see how all these factions with the demons and angels play out, the rest of the season. Crowley vs. Abbadon Malachi vs. Bartholomew vs. Metatron. I liked Cas trying to be a support for Dean and at the end Sam, he seemed to be worried about both of them and was trying to help them both. I did think that Cas seemed a little more aggressive, he seemed different to me, not by much, but just a little. I don't think we have seen him grab people and yell at them very often as he did with Gadreel, and that he threatened to cut out Crowley's heart if he screwed them over, was funny and yet kind of interesting, Cas doesn't often threaten anyone. I also noticed he seemed a little more human in this one, he smiled and showed a little more emotion than the normal Angel Cas ever did. The saddest part was at the end, you can feel the hurt and grief and betrayal coming from Dean and Sam, they were both betrayed, they were both hurt, and they are both grieving over Kevin, and each other. I think that maybe a little time apart will help and maybe the fact that Cas stayed with Sam to help with his healing process (I think) he can talk to Sam as he talked to Dean and help Sam to realize why Dean did what he did. Dean doesn't always make the best decisions but he always tries. Can we have more episodes like this one please?

I don't know how Cas got into the bunker, but I guess it was not warded against angels because Gadreel had to get in and out. But now that November has made me think about it, why did Sam not bring up warding the bunker with all those angels being on a killing spree?
I love it when Crowley says "Hello boys." He enjoys playing with Dean and Sam and he understands the rules of the game. There has to be a balance.
Crowley seems to have taken a liking to Kevin. He preferred Kevin's blood and he wanted a massage from Kevin. So I think he might also want some payback for Gadreel/Metatron killing Kevin.
I do not get as nervous as I used to when the boys separate but they are stronger together.
I want some more episodes like this too.

I enjoyed the episode! Lots going on. Loved Crowley, as usual. Long may he reign! And I especially enjoyed seeing Abner! Despite his too-quick demise, it was SO awesome to see Dan Payne. One look and I was like "OMG DAN!!!" Last time I saw him at the Leos, he had the beard too, but beard or no I would recognize him anywhere. I messaged him after the episode, sharing the info of all the love being showered on him on the Divine twitter page. Only six episodes and over two years ago...but everyone was instantly all over the fact that their Divine was on SPN: like a fanfic come to life, or a meta Divine/SPN crossover. Dan was totally blown away by all the tweets he was getting! Ya'll made the man very happy, he was overwhelmed with warm fuzzies. Plus we picked up many new followers - SPN fans who must have seen the tweets, and wanted to know more about this guy and the other role everyone was referencing. I have had a lot of personal welcoming to do since then. So I really loved this one for all sorts of reasons! I like this revitalized SPN...was not impressed with the episodes before the break...but this one was solid.
