They kept their promise to close the loose ends from the season 1 finale. They showed who lived and who died. They showed some of Joe’s followers from the previous season and some interesting killers for this season. I was satisfied with that. While watching, I wondered if SoCal would be satisfied with the ol’ trapdoor in the floor exit. When I saw how hurt Mike was at Ryan’s lack of interest, I remembered that Ryan was Mike’s idol or hero when he was at the academy. I was amused when the agents held up their badges after Ryan’s spiel about not being involved with the case. So…how does someone whose image was all over national news stay undetected for a year? We should find out next episode.

Sure, AA, the trapdoor sorta works for me, but did Joe know beforehand it was there? Did he have to find it after he was trapped? It all seems rather convenient.....a "muguffin" tossed in at the last minute when the producers decided Joe was too good a bad guy to kill off after just one season. But, darn it all, I missed the first 15 minutes. The program was advertised as 7:30 to 9 pm following a football game. Evidently the football game ended a bit early and they start the show early. Damn it! So I missed the revelation that Claire had indeed been killed. I found out later when Mike told Ryan that Joey was with his grandma and they were in witness protection. Hmmmmm, that didn't seem to work out so well for a character last season and if Joe is still determined to get his son, well, if I was Joey's grandma, I'd be taking up shooting lessons, judo lessons and trying on a suit of kevlar. I really liked the fact that Ryan is secretly working on the case. His safe room looked a lot like John Winchester's room in the pilot...pictures hung everywhere with twine connecting them, etc. I was sorry that Mike is so let down by his hero, but we understand that Ryan doesn't want him to get hurt again. I think Ryan figures is his mission to kill Joe in retaliation for Claire's death. Did he know Joe was alive or did he just always suspect it or did he just figure the followers would try something even if their "dear leader" was dead? Those twins are creepy. Nuff said. What's with the German chick? What's with having the guy whose apartment was discovered by Joe standing in the corner like a scene out of "The Blair Witch Project?" Is he toast or what? So we ended up seeing that Joe IS alive and covered with enough of a beard to make him kin to "Duck Dynasty." I can hardly wait to see the next episode. And I hope they re-run this so-called "Preview" so I can see it from the beginning.
