Well AA, it looks like we were right about "blondie." Not only is she a follower of Joe, it seems she is also the mother to the twins! Unless it's another little psycho twist with the boys just calling an older woman, "mother." The show kind of gave it away when she showed Ryan a painting over people with knives stabbing others. That Ryan....he really is eagle-eyed and remembers the most minor details. She skipped the express train, yet she told him she was in a hurry. That wouldn't have made any sense to me since she also said she never took the subway. I would have thought she just didn't know enough about subways to know to catch an express. So Emma has met up with the little group in New York, and yep, Curtis is dead. I didn't get Curtis. He didn't seem dark enough to be a follower. And boy-o-boy, was the french chick pissed that she didn't get to kill him. Wonder where they'll all meet up? That getaway in the art gallery was awfully well set up. Somehow she managed to have a wig and a secret door that let her out. I was sure Joe was going to kill both the mother and the daughter even up until the end. Just one year of living with Joe caused the daughter to go psycho? After the way she killed her mother, I'd watch out for her Good for Mike for breaking into Ryan's apartment and finding his secret room with the "Joe stash." I get the feeling after this episode, Mike and Ryan will work closer together. I ususally hate Mondays, but now that "The Following" is back.....well, I still hate Mondays!

I enjoyed this episode. That was certainly a strange relationship between Joe, the mother and the girl. The girl worships Joe and he does like to be worshiped. Maybe that is why he let the girl live. I also thought he would kill the girl up to the moment that they got into the car. Close call for her. She killed her mother slowly and I could tell that Joe enjoyed each moment of it. The girl said she never had a father, but I do not think Joe is a role model for a father figure. Yep, the lady fooled Ryan and everyone else - except for us. She was clever but I think Ryan made a bigger mistake than she did. Why did he keep staring at her in a suspicious manner until she became alarmed? It was a shock that the twins had close ties to her and she probably controls them. The twin who met with Emma helped me to understand why the followers do not exhibit empathy. He said he does not feel fear although he does recognize it in others. Those three are a more creepy trio than Emma and her two lovers. Mike is not going to let Ryan run the case without him. I always thought Mike was a better agent than Ryan and wondered if he would become reckless like Ryan. I am glad Mike is still level headed. I agree that Curtis seemed too weak to be a follower. Perhaps he emulated Joe but was not strong enough to be a leader. I think Emma's presence will cause friction between the twins. Please do not give us another female agent who lets Ryan manipulate her while he does whatever he wants. After threatening to arrest him if he went near the surviving victim, Ryan went to see the woman and planned to have dinner with her. He is still walking free and that crap irritates me. I would prefer that she avoid making threats. SoCal As long as you survive to see The Following, Mondays are not too bad.

AA, your are so right. I thought Ryan was smarter than to stare at Lily until SHE knew that HE knew. Pretty stupid. He should have smiled at her and walked up to her and then bagged her. Wow, Ryan is both smart and stupid. I hope he doesn't get Mike killed. I wonder if Lily will clash with Emma. Emma is very protective over her position as Joe's number two last year. Of course, she has no good answer as to why she didn't know Joe was still alive. I wonder when/where Lily and the twins came into the picture? I found it a little bit of a stretch when Ryan told Mike that Joe was still alive and the DNA they found was from his half-brother. I don't remember a brother being brought up last year. But I suppose the writers had to come up with something when they found out the show was renewed and they felt they had to bring Joe back since he was such a "good" bad guy. I wonder if Joe, who was so fixated on his son last season, will replace him with "the girl?" Even though you're dead, you have great posts! Can I raise you somehow?

Thanks for trying, but I do not think I can be raised from the dead - unless we can come up with a spell.
I did blink when I heard the DNA from a half-brother theory. I am wondering if Joe will locate his son once his followers multiply. The girl will make a very interesting substitute for his son. I think I was a little bit intrigued at the prospect of watching Joe try to turn his son into a killing machine - unsuccessfully, of course.
Did you recognize Ryan's sister? I did not realize she was his sister until someone said something later in the episode.

I just have missed the fact that Ryan's sister was in the episode. I remember that she played a role last season, but didn't think she would be back. I wonder if she's going to play a role this season?

The lady who was helping him on the computer at his apartment was his sister. I totally missed that until someone commented on it. I thought she was a friend from either the FBI or the Police Dept. I remember she kept telling him it was time to involve the FBI. Perhaps Ryan could have addressed her as "Hey, sis" instead of expecting us to recognize her.
I do not expect to see her again now that the FBI and Mike are onto Ryan's investigation.
