The first PoI met her fate too quickly for the team to do anything about it. Then, they were given a second assignment.
The second assignment was high energy, humorous, and led Reese and Shaw to a very exciting high school reunion. I enjoyed seeing several ladies slap Reese while he stood there looking bemused. Shaw was not amused that the student she was impersonating looked very unattractive in her high school picture.
A student had died after the prom 20 years ago and someone at the reunion was making an issue of it. The team needed to solve that puzzle and they had to dodge bullets from a team of assassins that was trying to kill Reese and Shaw.
Finch and Fusco were working together to obtain some documents that they did not want to fall into the hands of Vigilance. But Vigilance prevailed and released the information.
I think that caused the government agents to shut down The Machine so that it could not be traced back to them. Root seemed to have received a message that has sent her into action mode.
