I didn't see the original but I'll probably watch this. Without my second TiVo I don't think I'd be able to watch everything I want to see these days. I watched "Resurrection" myself.

Bruno got what he deserved. Although it is true the Earth revolves around the Sun, everything was created in six days, about 6000 years ago. Look it up.

So, death by being burned at the stake is a proper penalty for those who dare question religious beliefs and insist upon a rational system of testing and experimentation to determine proof?

I had a scare last night. This didn't get taped.
But I had taped it on the OTHER TiVo. I just had so much stuff to watch on the older one that I went there as soon as "Resurrection" was over.
I haven't seen it yet.

I forgot what they actually did to him. Other than his death, he got what he deserved. Did you actually see the show? Of course, But by the time I came here, all I remembered was that they put him in prison and persecuted him. I put the circumstances of his death out of my mind.

I knew it would make people mad so I didn't say it, but I need to.
These changes did not happen by chance. I thought the man was finally coming to his senses and saying there was, in fact, an intelligent designer. No, he actually thinks all these changes could have happened randomly. How could anyone believe that?

It's pretty amazing to think that all those changes did happen.

Once again, the man hints that someone actually made it all happen, and once again, he denies any of this is true. Since science says this, the Bible must be wrong. Unbelievable.
Evolution is a FACT? No one with any sense believes this. It cannot be proven.
But Isaac Newton had a gift. How does someone receive a gift if there was no one to receive it from?

That was a pretty amazing episode. I didn't know about Robert Hooke. Now while it is true Halley didn't discover the comet, I knew that it was well known but that only he made the connection between the appearances.

I was reading earlier this week that most scientists don't accept evolution as fact. Where did you read this in some religious magazine or in a scientific magazine? As I have stated many times that the theory of evolution and the belief of creation are two very separated things one belongs in the school class room and the other belongs in Sunday school. The theory of evolution has been under attack since the very first publication of the theory and has stood the test of time for over 160 years most people who oppose the theory of evolution don't seem to understand the different meaning of the word theory when the word is used in the science fact base world and when the word is used in other contents. It was a site similar to this one. Although I don't know how reliable this person's quote was, he or she said, "there are thousands of reliable sources of scientists rejecting evolution as a legitimate theory".

Genesis 1 (King James Version)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
That's the whole story. Now I have lots of work to do before the big day. I'm so excited!

If you'd like to make this thread, which is a discussion about the new TV series Cosmos into a debate about creationism VS science (or more clearly fundamentalist political ideology VS science) I'll ask you to take the initiative and create a separate thread for that. This one is for rationally discussing the television series. If you want to troll this thread, I'd suggest instead, that you create a more targeted one for whatever magical beliefs you hope to convey. Please do not call me a troll. I am a sweet and innocent bunny who only tells you what he believes. As for my magical beliefs, of course I have what might be called magical powers, to the uninformed.
But what you are asking for is fair. Another site I go to has a "Take it Outside" board to which disruptive posts are moved. The moderator or adminstrator will put a link in the thread which says, "Some of the posts in this thread have been moved to Take it Outside". Where those words are there would be a link.
Here is the link to the thread displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com/thread/3067/alternative-views-concepts-presented-cosmos I created if someone with the authority to do so will be so kind as to move my post and that of 3Sheets there.

You are a troll. Knock it off, or I'll start trolling you. I second that if a person wants to believe that god is responsible for all things on earth and in the universe that is their chose. I just wish that they would stay off of the internet as their forefathers fought every scientific breakthrough. They don't want us to study stem cell research yet will not pledge to not use any medical breakthroughs when it comes to their own health they are all hypocrite and proud of it.

You were accused of trolling, which is a verb. It is not a noun. You do not 'become' a troll unless this happens many times over and over. As far as concepts go, 'notions' are untested, unproven, and unsubstantiated supposition. They are only the beginning point for exploration Just because it 'seems right' to round off pi to 3.00 doesn't make it true or any kind of legitimate alternative for mathematic equations. By the way, with modern telescopes, we can see and quantify the light reaching Earth now from the most distant cosmos, and it's well beyond 6000 years old.

You can see the wind. But you know it's there. You can see the evidence.
I wonder what else we can see the evidence of, proving that it's there?
This man's ignorance amazes me.

This is a really interesting show. I don't care that he dismisses the role of a creator. I'm learning a lot and it's presented in such a fascinating way.

Nor can you prove that a mysterious, supernatural being created everything in 6 days. The bunny doesn't have to do that. And once again, the man acknowledges there is a Creator. Otherwise, the monks are a bunch of hermits living in a castle they call an "Abbey", and where did the pretty organ music come from?

Why the outrage with people who believe strictly in scientific proof? That is what is wrong with religious people, they want to attack anyone who doesn't agree with them. I believe in God but I won't force my beliefs down someone else's throat.

I believe in God but I won't force my beliefs down someone else's throat. Because the people who complain the loudest—who voice the angriest arguments—are not convinced themselves. These people hope that by their "righteous anger" God will forgive their doubt. Why doesn't the Bible talk about conditions like autism or other psychological disorders outside of demon possession? Because culture didn't know better.
