Some questions:
What happened to Sam's voice? It sounds hoarse.
Is Metatron trying to emulate Chuck by using an old typewriter and telling the story? Is this their way of telling us that Chuck really was God?
Gadreel is still looking good...until Dean rearranges his face. Will Gadreel be convinced to switch sides?

I really enjoyed last night's episode. Castiel worry over Dean's Mark of Cain and warning Sam to look out for his brother is making Sam realize maybe his brother is over his head and can use Sam's help and protection. I love the trick the writers played on us with Gabriel. There has been a discussion among the fans about if Gabriel dead or did he trick the devil. When Castiel asks him 'are you dead' I laughed so hard at the eyebrow waggle and the disappearing without an answer. I'm worried Castiel calling the angels to him is playing right into Metatron's hands. I agree with Astounding Angel that Gadreel is changing his mind. Gadreel chatting with Metatron he wasn't happy with the answers he received and he maybe figuring out he chose the wrong and crazy side. But wow is Metatron powerful! Dean has trapped two Archangels in holy oil but Metatron blew it away. Since he wrote the angel tablet he has God's secrets. I wonder when Metatron dropped all the pop culture and book knowledge into Castiel's head if maybe some angel tablet knowledge came along for the ride. But Cas doesn't know yet because he was overwhelmed with every book Metatron ever read. Astounding Angel it was an interesting parallel between Chuck and Metatron with the typewriter. Then Metatron throws Chuck's writing into the fire. If Chuck is God then throwing his work into the fire is Metatron's way of rejecting God.

I think I liked the episode, it was a different kind of episode and I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but I think overall I am ok with it. There are a lot of things going on in this one and I am sure I am going to forget something but here goes.
I thought the opening scene was a little weird but ok overall, I am over Metatron and the guys need to find a way to get rid of him, he is becoming very annoying. The part with "Gabriel" was it really him or not? I still enjoyed seeing him, but I thought his dialogue was a little off and it seemed harsher than how he acted previously, but that could be because it was Metatron writing him.
I think Gadreel may be having second thoughts about joining with Metatron, he seemed a little indecisive at the end and I was thinking maybe he is realizing that being with Metatron isn't the best thing for him. Also He really seemed as if he wanted either Dean or Sam to kill him, is it because he feels awful for killing all the people that Metatron wants him to? He seemed crushed when Dean wouldn't kill him.
Dean is becoming different and we can see him turning into someone or something else, the way he looks at himself in the mirror, what is he thinking of when he does that? The way Dean charged Gadreel but didn't kill him he acted feral, focused, determined, and someone who was almost not in control. He seemed so different and cold in that scene.
I think Gadreel is wrong when he called Sam weak, I don't think Sam is weak at all, I think he like all the guys make the wrong choices and that could be interpreted as weak, but he isn't. I also think he is seeing the effects of the MOC on Dean and is really making him think about what is going on, and after Cas told him to watch Dean, he listened. When Kevin told the guys to get over it weeks back, Sam didn't pay attention, but he did this time. You can tell by the way Sam acts he is worried about his brother, but is unsure what to do.
I loved seeing Cas send a picture and drive a car, and he also was acting as a hunter, he had a duffel bag with stuff in it and he had the walls covered with clippings, just like any other hunter. I liked how he put it together so fast that what was happening at the beginning wasn't real. But what I am worried about is the fact I think Cas is going to do something to stop Metatron at all costs. I don't want to see that. I am curious how they are going to tie all these storylines together.

In spite of the difficulty I had when trying to view it, I really enjoyed the episode. This is one I would like to watch more than once so I am sorry that the recording did not work because of CW Network problems. I watched it on my phone around 2 AM and it was still good. I love what they did with the fire wings followed by the glorious white wings. Nice! During the opening scene, I remembered that Metatron did love books and stories and I guess he wanted to try to write a story himself. The typewriter and glass of whiskey did make me think of Chuck. Seeing Dean in the shower was nice although the close-up was of his beautiful face and arm instead of his six-pack. I was pleased to see Castiel take a picture of the sigil on the wall and send it. After Castiel talked to Sam, I noticed how Castiel’s voice changed when he spoke to Dean. It became softer and held real concern. Then later, Castiel could tell there was something different about Dean. He has always been tuned in to Dean even when Dean was not aware of it. I was thrilled to see Gabriel and, of course, as soon as I heard “Casa Erotica, I thought of him. He seemed like the Gabriel I knew from the episode with the game show where he told the boys to suck it up and play their roles. Gabriel’s comments while in the car with Castiel were entertaining: "Remember me, the guy who died for your sins; not the one with the beard and the sandals…the hot one." "Your boy toy and I…" "Aba-douche" "You’ve been god more often than dad has" And I’m sure these lines were a shout-out to the fans “I really hate continuity errors.” And “Sorry, didn’t read the whole script…” When Castiel asked Gabriel if he was dead, I loved the raised eyebrow response. Why does Metatron want Cas to lead the rebel angels? I think he is tricky and trying a double reverse. At first, I thought he was saying he wanted Castiel to lead the angels against him and that they have no chance of winning so that Castiel would avoid that scenario. But at the end of the episode, Metatron typed that Cas met his flock and God smiled. I do not have a good feeling about this. I knew Sam was acting like bait when Gadreel spotted him. I’m tired of people saying mean things to Dean about him being needy and that Sam does not feel the same way he does. Both Sam and Dean have sacrificed a lot for each other. But Gadreel wanted to goad Dean into killing him so what he said does not really count to me. Metatron referred to Gadreel’s capture and subsequent torture as a “good twist” to his story. That shows how little he cares about him and I think (hope) he has lost Gadreel. I am surprised that the angel tablet made Metatron stronger than an archangel. He has a sick sense of humor and I hope he dies a spectacular death. Won’t be too soon for me. I felt sad at the end of the episode because Dean looked determined but lacked any joy and the song they played when Castiel entered the hotel room played sad lyrics…”Loneliness is the coat you wear…sun isn’t going to shine anymore when you are without love.” I do not think we are going to get a happy ending.

Hi Anti, I also want to know why does Metatron seemed so insistent on Cas being a leader? I was surprised to see Cas call the other angels to him since he knows that is what Metatron wants. I am very worried about what Metatron said about the borrowed grace and how it is affecting Cas, I almost think that Cas is putting together a plan to help other angels and then sacrifice himself.
I am also worried about Dean, He looks at himself in the mirror like he doesn't recognize himself and what he is becoming, I hope he realizes that Sam and Cas can help him thru this. I think Sam may be thinking about what he told Dean earlier and he might be rethinking his word choice. I am not saying that Sam was wrong to say what he did to Dean, but I think he is seeing the consequences of those words.
I think they are planning on ripping out our hearts this season finale.

I am also concerned about the borrowed grace. I have been thinking that Metatron still had Castiel's grace in a little bottle and that it could be returned to him. I thought that because Anna retrieved her grace by snatching the vial that contained it. Now I am not sure Castiel's grace is available. I think Castiel would feel guilty if he did not help the other angels. He did not want to be involved in angels fighting each other and I understand that. But someone has to get rid of Metatron. Personally, I was hoping Dean would spray some holy oil on him and see if he was immune to that. He blew out the fire, but he did not try to walk through it. I am worried about Dean too. Sam's harsh words stripped Dean of the only foundation he had in this life...his brother. I have the feeling that Dean no longer cares if he dies either. What does he have left to live for anyway? (Other than his fans, of course. I am not feeling at all optimistic.
