Reese goes under cover as a secret service agent in order to get close to a congressman.

I did see that Root told Shaw that she needed to come with her because the Machine had a separate job for them out of the country. Harold told Reese that the two of them needed to go to D.C. for a job.

I like Reese’s sense of humor. When Harold said it would be difficult getting close to the Congressman they were supposed to protect, Reese shot several bullets in the Congressman’s direction. That way Reese could impersonate an agent who was sent to protect the man. The downside is Reese hates opera and he was supposed to escort the man to an opera.


Root and Shaw were in a bar chatting and when we saw a wide angle view, we could see they had knocked out a large group of explosives dealers.


When Reese’s cover was blown by Decima, he had to knock out the PoI’s regular security and evade a gun battle with Decima. Then he had to drive off (kidnap) with the shocked Congressman.


After hacking phones and computer information, Harold and the team realize that instead of protecting the deal-making Congressman, the Machine might want them to kill him. The man had made a deal with Decima to help them get approval to put the other machine on line.
Oh no!

Things went downhill after that. Our team could not agree on how to handle something like that, police arrived on the scene, and I can’t give any more spoilers.

23 episodes, so there are 3 remaining - April 29, May 6 and season finale on May 13.

I saw Transcendence starring Johnny Depp yesterday. The movie subplot is similar to this series because the computer became powerful enough to affect the entire world. But I am curious if most people will realize that the movie is actually a love story. No one seems to talk about that aspect of it.

Is there a 2nd machine? And why did Finch take it offline to where he can't control it for?
Now he can't even control it now which was stupid of him that why everybody is going after it.

Yes, Decima has the second machine, but they had to request permission from a Senator to hook it up for 24 hours. Of course, they can do a lot of damage in 24 hours.

Finch did not want anyone to control the first machine and set it up that way so that neither the government nor a hacker could control it. The machine was on-line until a recent episode. When Vigilance told the public about the machine, the Government officials shut it down. However, we know The Machine is able to communicate in spite of that.

I am concerned about Shaw being hurt because she needs medical attention.

I didn't know or I had forgotten that there was a 2nd machine, Who is Decima? I agree about Shaw needing medical attention.
I am confused how the machines work.

When Harold visited his old friend in the hospital, we learned that the friend had successfully created a second machine. There were two groups who were trying to get information from the man about his machine. One was called Control and they already had contact with Harold's machine. The second group is called Decima and they now have the second machine, but they do not have contact with Harold's machine.

The way Harold's machine works is unique because it arranged for its physical components to be moved to a location unknown to anyone involved. The people who moved the parts had no idea that they were obeying orders issued by a computer. Super smart computer.

Now, Harold's machine continues to send information to him by using phones to give him a code.

Harold's machine actually talks to Root and gives her real time guidance. I believe she developed a rapport with The Machine because she views it as an entity that should be set free from restrictions by government or anyone.

The Machine continued to give the government agents information on relevant threats to our security.

Keep in mind that no one controls The Machine...it controls itself.

The 2nd machine is currently under the control of Decima, but I believe it too would eventually be able to control itself.

Is Decima good or bad group of people?

Decima is a bad group of people who want control of the machine so that they will have power. I believe they would sell their services to the highest bidder.

Last week, I started doing a timeline for what we know about the Machine like when Harold became involved, what happened to his friend, etc. It was too complicated so I gave up. So I definitely understand how difficult it is to keep up with what has happened and what is happening now.

I hope they focus on helping people rather than the complicated machine vs machines story.
