Watson showed a lot of dedication to her previous profession by making sure they saved that man, at least when she could. Am I remembering correctly that they eventually killed him?

I enjoyed the episode. Although I enjoy the series in general, I found this one to be more exciting than usual. Joan was in a very dangerous situation and I never thought the villain had any intention of releasing her.

When Mycroft told Sherlock that Joan had been kidnapped, Sherlock reacted the way I thought he would. He was so angry he started throwing things and then he grabbed his brother. I am surprised he did not hit Mycroft but he made it clear that he hated him and never wanted to see him again after they saved Joan.

Sherlock is highly intelligent in addition to having a keen sense of observation. He used all of his skills in his desperate attempt to save Joan and I thought he was impressive.

Mycroft kept talking to someone on the phone and I thought he had another buyer for the information that everyone wanted. It was not clear to me what he was doing but I could not believe he would forfeit Joan's life to achieve his goal. When he zapped Sherlock, I thought he was going to sell the information and I hoped Sherlock would find him quickly.

Joan's background as a doctor leads her to help the people who will harm her. When the villain shot his own cousin, I was as shocked as Joan. I guess she knew then that she would not be set free.

A storm interfered with the cable signal and I need to watch the end again. I do not know who those ninja type guys were.
