I loved every moment of this episode! It deserves a 5.
I was surprised to see Gavin in 1723. He was good for some laughs and the poor thing crossed himself when Abaddon killed his buddy.
I didn’t know angels could be buffoons, but the braggart was setting himself up for trouble. Slow methodical footsteps accompanied by music increasing in tempo…then Castiel, the Commander, enters the room. I loved it!
I also enjoyed Dean and Sam working well together and the mind games they played on the angel to get information.
Aww…hugs for everyone from the “rock star”. Castiel’s hair was styled nicely.
Castiel: If you don’t want to do it, I understand. Dean: Who says I don’t want to do it.
I enjoyed the scenes with Castiel and Gadreel and I hope they work together. Warrior Castiel battling angels shows he is still in good form.
My favorite line in the episode… Crowley: You betrayed me? No one in the history of torture has been tortured with torture like the torture you will be tortured with.
Gavin was a hoot: Can you cook a pigeon on that (light bulb)?
We are amongst the stars. Are we in heaven, then? You must be angels.
Some Buccaneers beat the Saints? Can this be?
It was bad enough the Blade was inside of a corpse, but then a hell hound chased them. It was sweet the way Crowley told Juliette to stand down. Crowley and Gavin were having a moment together lounging, listening to classical music and reading newspapers. That was the first time in Gavin's life he had a moment like that with his father.
The scene where Dean confronted Abaddon was awesome! He was so strong and downright vicious, but she deserved that. I agree with Dean that Abaddon could have used Sam as collateral and it was best that Dean went into the room alone. I know Dean has changed and the way he responded “No” to Sam’s request to hide the Blade proves it.

I wanted to come by and vote for the episode and then on Thursday I will give my review. I am too tired tonight but hopefully the next day or so I can do it. I really liked this episode! So many good things after last week's train wreck.

I got to do something i haven't been able to do in a long time... Watch the episode while it was on, at the volume i wanted, and without the closed captioning on. Reason being is that i always work Tuesday nights and i'm on vacation this week. Also, my mom wasn't home at the time which made it even more comfortable. Not to say that i don't enjoy watching them with my mom but her hearing is getting so bad i might have to start looking into learning sign language. AA, i think you summed up the episode pretty well (like always) so i don't really have much to add. I really enjoy seeing Crowley in episodes b/c he always brings his unique humor along. I was thrilled when after Dean killed Abaddon that he didn't go after Crowley next.

Kimba, I was glad too that they did not kill Crowley. Crowley made me laugh the way he twisted his mouth when he said "feelings". I enjoyed it so much that I re-watched the episode as soon as it ended. I have not felt like doing that in a long time.

This was a very good episode, even if the "bad writers" were the ones that created it. I loved the hugs between Dean, Sam and Cas, I love that the show is finally giving us more of Sam and Cas together, Sam needs more friends that he can talk to, plus when the guys interact with others we can see different sides of them. I liked how they treated Cas as an equal, and came to see what he needed when he called. While I didn't like he wanted Dean to torture again, he didn't say that Dean must do it, he gave him a choice. Cas and Gadreel talking together, that was so satisfying to see Cas finally get to talk to someone that wanted to redeem themselves, too often we see Cas be the only reasonable out of the angels. I still don't trust Gadreel and I think Cas is wrong to trust him, at least Cas is trying to find a diplomatic way to end this war, something no other angel seems willing to do, or to step up and be a leader. At least this time Cas doesn't have any false illusions about himself and isn't coming at this in a power hungry way, he is trying to find a non violent way to end the war. Sam showing some concern over his brother is good to see, I also really liked how he and Dean did the "interrogation" it was nice to see the guys on the same page and being smart, I am over the writers dumbing down the guys all the time. They have been fighting monsters their whole life, they know so many things, why do we not get to see other ways? On a purely silly female note-Dean and Sam were gorgeous in that scene. It was also nice to see Dean and Sam be a little silly with each other, even if they were working. I did like seeing Sam try and limit Dean's time with the blade, he knows something bad is happening, and he is trying to stop it, but I think he is going to have to talk to Dean Like a Brother in order to get thru to Dean. Oh Dean, you are headed in a bad direction and I am thinking that this storyline may not be done at the end of this year. I think Jensen does a great job at showing his emotional range, even if it is subtle. From the silliness of the interrogation to his showdown with Abbadon he had an enormous range this time, and from the time he was facing Abbadon, you could almost see the rage, anger and blind determination in him to kill her, I thought that scene was one of the best they have had in a while. I thought Abbadon was a great villain but I was happy to see at least one storyline end. I like Crowley and even when he is bad he is good, and I loved how he used the code word to alert the guys, never underestimate Crowley, it will be the wrong move. I kind of liked seeing him and his son together but I wonder where Crowley took Gavin and I wonder how that is going to affect time, and the future? At the very end of the episode when Dean and Sam are talking in the car and Sam is telling Dean that he thinks something bad is happening, Dean knows what is going on, you can tell it in his eyes, he knows and he is not fighting it anymore, he is letting it take him over a little at a time, and in that one word at the end "no" you can tell he isn't playing around, he will do what he has to accomplish what is needed, and he doesn't care who tries to stop him. I think the next 2 episodes will keep us on the edge of our seats.

So, I re watched this one again last night and heard something I didn't pay attention to the first time. when Abbadon was sitting there talking to Crowley with her drink and Crowley had just said something about being hopeful for her utter demise. Abbadon then made a comment along the lines of about "that includes you too" I didn't think anything about it at the time, I thought she was just referring to the guys will eventually kill Crowley too, but now after watching it again I am wondering if maybe Crowley is also a knight of Hell?? We have never really known what he was or is and he is a master of manipulation and lying, it got me to thinking and I still don't know.

novemberschild I watched part of this episode when it aired last night and I still don't know if Abaddon meant Crowley is a knight of hell. Last night was the first time I really noticed the damage done to Abaddon's chest after Dean finished stabbing her. That was truly gruesome. I enjoyed watching it so much that I have decided to purchase the DVD set. Why stop now when we probably have only one more season?

Hello Anti and Anicat, Hugs for you both and SoCal too, I know you are out there Pray tell Anicat, do you know something we don't ? I have the S9 DVD set, and have watched a few of the episodes again and some of the extra features. I am patiently waiting on S10 to start, I will be happy to see the guys again, I am interested in how some of these situations from last year will play out.
