On its face, this looks like another attempt at a full on comedic episode. But, hunting for a witch (evidently the redhead we saw at the end of episode 10.03 is said witch who is named Rowena)is anything but comedic! What's Crowley up to? And why is Dean on a dating site? Watch, rate and discuss here.

The one good thing about the episode was we finally get rid of Hannah and her silly, endless, pointless road trip with Castiel seems to come to an end. I never got why 2 angels were driving around in a beat-up car doing......what? They need to drive around endlessly to find errant angels? Huh? The one bad thing about the episode was after the tremendous build-up about Cole and his hunt to kill Dean (who killed his father, whom we find out was some kind of monster), he listens to a one-and-a-half minute speech by Dean and then, seemingly satisfied with killing Dean, he drives off. Is that the last we see of Cole? Huh? Two pointless story lines that come to a less than satisfying end. I can only hope the rest of the season picks up the pace. So far the only episode I've loved was 10.02. The rest have been....shall we say....lacking. Oh, and the King of Hell doesn't realize his mother is around until he sees her and hears her speak?

I have to admit that the first time I watched it, I was confused and wasn't sure what the point of the episode was, and even after watching it 2 more times I still wonder was is going on in this.
I felt like I was watching 2 separate episodes, the front half and the back half seemed different to me. I felt that the Rowena /hooker storyline was too long and just odd. And if Rowena could kill the first demon so fast, why was she scared of the other 2 in the hallway and how did they catch her so quick?
I won't miss Hannah, but I am glad they found a way for her not to die, I get tired of all the killing on the show. I thought it was weird the way she clung to Cas and made her mission more important than what he had going on. As a Cas fan I never thought I would say this, but I wasn't sure why he was even in the episode. I realize after a couple of viewings that he learned something from Hannah and that he "may" be on his own personal journey, but we didn't get a lot of his viewpoint in his brief appearance in this to explain that.
I think Cole may be back later, I don't think his story is finished, but again I am glad they didn't kill him, I believe they may keep him around for a while, not from anything I have read, just a thought.
I did like the fight scene and Dean's talk he had with Cole, I think Cole needed to hear an explanation and that is the best one he will get from Dean. I don't think for a minute that Dean was lying, he truly believes he is not worth saving, and the look on Sam's face when he heard that heartbreaking, it must be incredibly hard to hear your family say they don't deserve to be saved. When Sam asked Dean about it and Dean said he told Cole what he wanted to hear, you could see in Dean's face that it was a lie, and you could see in San's face that he didn't believe it either, he looked so worried for Dean.
The one thing I have noticed in all the episodes is the underlying theme of the season is family, whether the family is good or bad, so here goes my futile attempt at speculation that I was discussing with someone earlier today.
Since Crowley altered the timeline by keeping Gavin in this time, will Crowley, Gavin and Rowena be the bad family vs. the good family of Dean, Sam and Cas?
And is it just me or does Crowley look as if he is bored in Hell?

SoCal and novemberschild covered all the pertinent issues. I do want to say I will be very disappointed if the introduction of Cole does not have an important role to play in the future. There was too much buildup to just let it fizzle that way. I also enjoyed the fight and it reinforced my view that Dean is an awesome fighter. After all, Cole has had extensive formal training and Dean is his match. Dean fascinates me because if anyone else had said the things he said to Cole, it would sound maudlin and full of self-pity, but not Dean. He said it like a statement of fact that he accepts with no self-pity. Hannah was trying to entice Cas but played coy. I noticed he did take a little peek when she went into the bathroom. I guess Castiel will have a separate storyline from the boys until something drastic happens. SoCal, I have been wondering why Hannah and Cas have been travelling in a car and staying in motels. Maybe I missed something about their abilities when they returned to Heaven? Witches! Dean had made himself a drink, but when Sam said witches were involved, Dean lost his appetite and put the drink down. He hates witches! Rowena has strong magic and we have previously met witches who lived for hundreds of years. Crowley has always had standards when he made contracts and the brothel deals violated his standards. I thought he would zap his minion for irritating him, but I think he was feeling apathetic without his BFF Dean. November, I think the timeline theory makes sense and I am okay with Crowley’s family being involved. I bet their entire family was dysfunctional so that might be fun.
